SECRET LABORATORY - "How much did you pay for it?"
"100,000 NP. Maybe I got ripped off a bit but it's OK, it was the quickest."
"Let's go!"
That was the basic conversation me and my blue Acara Umi_no_sapphire had as
I shakily pieced the lab ray together. Like all the magical things in the world
of Neopia, it just magically "changed" together.
After traveling across many mountains, we finally came upon a small cave in
which the map marked with a big red 'X'. We entered the musty caves, and after
steps that lead steeply down, until we came to an ugly yellow Scorchio who looked
quite remarkably like a mad scientist.
"Um... maybe you shouldn't have bought this map..."
Well Umi stood on the podium, and then... ZAAAAP!
It was then that Umi's Battledoming days were forever changed.
At first, she was trained only on codestones, every day, but as her level went
higher and higher, I realised that I was wasting a lot of NP, and when she reached
an extreme, I would have to pay 16,000 NP per session. What could I do?
At last, it was then I was chatting with a friend.

Lavenderamethyst: What can I do? I can't afford training at this rate,
along with weapons and faeries!!!
Styster17*: ^_^ Well there's always the lab ray.
Lavenderamethyst: I've heard of that, but let's see, Your Mynci turned
into a female and also he decreased stats!!!
Styster17: It's worth it. Now her (HIS!!) stats are at ULTIMATE.
Lavenderamethyst: OK... maybe you HAVE convinced me, but...
Styster17: Plus they can be painted cool colours! ^_^

That's when I found myself shelling out 100,000 NP at a privately owned shop
to buy the Map. I wasn't that sure about this, even though I could afford it.
I can afford it... but is this WORTH IT? I looked bitterly at the map when I
traded the Neopoints with the owner of the shop. Quickly, before the Pant Devil
could come,
Umi and I rushed to the Treasure Maps to piece it together and go.
I remember clearly when she turned into a Green Bruce. I was severely stunned
for several minutes. I also remember quite clearly: Why did I buy this???
I was very annoyed, and so was Umi. She was exploring her Bruce body now, and
we were both disappointed that day.
Suddenly, after a while.. things got better. She turned Electric, a rare and
expensive colour to paint pets with. After that, she gained 5 Max HP at a time.
Of course sometimes they dropped but at least it was overall good!
Umi and I both think that we will be morphing herself back into a Striped Acara
but for until then... we will be zapping! Overall, it is definitely worth it!
You will probably have doubts when you buy this, especially... IS THIS WORTH
IT?
I tell you... it is worth it and with the war coming up... yeah, it's more than
definitely worth it. Buy it now before the prices raise!!!
There are pros and there are cons... *cough*changing gender*cough* but the pros
definitely outweigh the cons!! To prove this theory true, I interviewed another
Neopian.
lavenderamethyst: Hi TK Libra, what is your experience on the lab ray?
TK Libra*: I pick one of my pets, and it's always that one I use the
lab on.
lavenderamethyst: Which one? Did you make it specifically for that purpose
or did you go to the pound for a weak pet to try it on?
TK Libra: It's currently and aisha, and yes, I made it specifically
for that purpose.
lavenderamethyst: Were you disappointed at first or did you think that
it was great from the start?
TK Libra: I thought it was exciting from the start, but there were days
I wished I hadn't even bought the map.
lavenderamethyst: Do you always feel a pang of excitement or do you
think that it is ordinary like Tombola
TK Libra: Since the stakes are higher than Tombola, it's always exciting.
lavenderamethyst: Any species/colour changes that were worthwhile?
TK Libra: Well, for three day my pet was a fire aisha.
lavenderamethyst: Were you disappointed with the levels going down because
that is a common factor
TK Libra: Yeah, that's pretty disappointing. But overall, her stats
are going up.
lavenderamethyst: What about gender changes?
TK Libra: My pet has a feminine name, so I feel sorry for her when she's
turned male. Luckily, that's only happened once.
lavenderamethyst: Did you change her back into an aisha or is she still
zapping
TK Libra: She's still zapping.
lavenderamethyst: What would you rate the lab ray on a 1-10 basis?
TK Libra: I'd say 7 or 8. It can make your pet strong but it takes a
very long time, and that's frustrating.
lavenderamethyst: Anything else?
TK Libra: Don't spend your money on the map pieces unless your prepared
to stick with the lab ray. I quit a few times because I was disgusted with the
results, but I felt bad about wasting all that money.
