SECRET LABORATORY - 90,000 Neopoints!!!! 90,000 NEOPOINTS! I couldn't believe
I had just spent that much on the lab map. I must have been crazy to actually
buy it. Oh, wait, I already am crazy, but that's besides the point! I have to
admit, though, I had been dying to know where the secret laboratory was.
I followed the map to the Laboratory. As I approached the door, I could feel
my heart pounding. This was it! This was the moment where my life would change...
FOREVER! Well, not quite.
The door seemed to creak open by itself; and I was met by a weird Scorchio
with swirly eyes. "Velcome!" he crowed.
I found myself getting mesmerised by them and I had to snap myself out of
the trance. He spoke with an accent and invited me deeper into his lab. As I
looked around I saw a disturbing sign, "WARNING - This process could severely
damage your pet... we at NeoPets take no responsibility for what happens when
you do this!!!"
I frowned and asked the Scorchio what that meant. He smiled evilly and waved
his hand.
"Notting! Vit meens notting!"
I raised an eyebrow, but followed him into the depths of his lab. I noticed
that many Spyders hung from the ceiling, and other creatures hid in the dark
shadows. My pets begged me to turn back. The_Michael_Jackson wondered if he
would turn into a frog. Joyfaerie told me she was very scared. DarkFireryIce
and Cortezman both screamed, "NOOOOOOOO!" I felt a twinge of guilt, but I told
them it was for the better. I had heard MANY positive comments on this Laboratory
ray, so I assured them that it would work out fine. Besides, I was only going
to put the ray on The_Michael_Jackson.
I marched The_Michael_Jackson up to the platform. That very platform had the
Ray pointed towards it. The_Michael_Jackson looked at me pitifully as I left
him there. His brothers and sister watched him curiously. I noticed how pathetic
and scared he looked on that giant platform.
All of a sudden, the Ray fired! A huge bolt of...something streamed out of
the ray and hit The_Michael_Jackson. Then, out of nowhere a computer automated
voice said, "...and he goes back to level 1." The_Michael_Jackson looked
at me, and I looked at the crazed Scorchio.
"That's...that's it?" I asked.
"Yeees, yeees, dat is all," the Scorchio responded.
Big whoop, he already was on level one. The_Michael_Jackson climbed down the
platform and walked towards the group. He shrugged as he passed me.
I was hoping that the Lab Ray would to turn him into a Pirate Krawk or into
an Orange Lupe or something. Well, you get what you pay for. But then again,
tomorrow was a whole new day full of totally new possibilities! Maybe then my
pet would turn into a Lost Desert Koi.
The next day, bright and early, I trotted my pets back to the lab. I'm heartless,
aren't I? They once again greeted me with the screams of terror and fruitless
attempts to escape. Okay, so maybe it wasn't so exaggerated, but they did beg
me not to take them. Erm, well, I took them anyway.
The freaky Scorchio opened his creaky door and greeted me with his bizarre
smile. Once again, we took the journey into the heart of his Lab. Once again,
The_Michael_Jackson was led to the platform. And once again he was shocked by
the ray. That computer voice appeared again and said, "And he gains two strength
points." Ah well, that was better than yesterdays results, but it sure wasn't
a change into an Electric Blue Wocky.
Finally the truth hit me, that though the lab is a great way to gain stats...
or to lose them, it won't always turn my pet into a Shadow Techo. But, hey!
Now I can tell my friends that I bought the Lab Map! |
