Stockin' Tips

by w3neo

STOCK EXCHANGE - So you are after that elusive Neo-fortune and think the Stock Market Game might hold your answer? Well it may, but this is a game of patience and thoughtful investing. It really is no secret that the key to success is buy low and sell high but how do you know what is low and what is high from the multitude of choices available?

Well you could do as many have in the past and just buy whatever is at or near 15 (the lowest you are allowed to buy) and hope it goes up. This works all right and you will probably end up making some NP with this strategy, the problem is that many stocks don't historically perform as well as others so your profit could be only 5,000 or 10,000 NP per 1,000 shares.

Now with the introduction of www.neodaq.com you can look into a stocks past and see where it has been and maybe more importantly where it has just come from. This may well help you to see the true profit potential of a stock allowing you to make 15,000 to 100,000 NP or more on a purchase of 1,000 shares. If a stock has just spent a month or more way out of you reach but is currently in a downward spiral it might be a good time to buy. You may have to wait some time before it begins to gain value again but this is where the patience comes in.

Important things to look for when you look into a stocks history are what is the highest it has reached and how long has it been down? If a stock has spent months in the 6 to 20 range and has been to points above 40 or so in the past then it shows a lot of potential for quick growth that can return 100% or better on your investment. These are the ones I am after. I always try and buy as close to 15 as I can with consideration given to how much I currently own of a stock along with how long it has been low.

As of this writing I have invested 1.6 million NP into this game over the course of 4 months and I am just now starting to realise the fruits of my investment. This may sound crazy to you but consider this before passing judgement. I hold 85,000 shares of stocks spread out over ten companies, my goal is around 150,000 shares and 15 companies. Over the next months I expect to make close to 1,000,000 NP a month from here on out off this game as I buy my 1,000 shares every day and sell off companies that have gone up.

Most people think when they see numbers like that they will never get that much. Well I and many others I know earn the 15 to 20k NP each day to buy our stocks. It does take commitment to continue to put that NP into the market each and every day but you will soon realise it adds up fast and even though you are still dirt poor your portfolio is beginning to look quite impressive and you are on your way.

The best thing about the Stock Market game for many (myself included) is that it doesn't require a super fast connection like many of the other alternative methods of getting Neo-rich do. I can never buy from the Neopian Shops and I am almost always behind someone else with deals on the Shop Wiz. But the stocks only take a few minutes each day to buy and sell what you need to and you can take all the time you like as they only change every 30 minutes :)

For help with your daily investing I cannot recommend any higher than the Neo Stock Benefit Guild, they post their advice daily on the front page so that you do not even have to be a member in order to read it and it is always well thought out unlike most of what you may have read on the Stock Tips board. These good people understand the stocks and try to help anyone who asks because they want you to be as successful and investor as they are.
