MERIDELL - As many of you know, the war, probably happening in Meridell, is
about to happen. (Or has happened) But any day now, we are going to get to the
largest war Neopia has ever seen. And I am going to put in how I'm going to
do the war. Oh, and what I'm planning to cope with. Such as a possibility of
Meridell turning into a giant overcooked potato? Or, what about those, um, monsters,
on Plot Part 1...well, I was going to tell you, but then you aren't going to
read the rest of the article and just read how YOU probably can get one.
Not that you'd want one.
They're cool looking.
You don't want to be cool.
You don't want to read this.
(I am seriously trying to trick you into reading this.)
(Ignore the above message.)
How, What, and When to Fight
Everybody should know how to fight a war. Some people know, so let me be
as brief as possible, as they are carefully paying close attention to every
word because they want to get a Plot Part 1 thingie.
You know how to do the Battledome, right? The One-Player Battledome? Good.
See, in a war, certain 1-Player Challengers come that you must defeat. These
'Warriors' aren't like Punchbag Bob or the Zafara Rouge. They are exclusive
to the war. The Lost Desert war had Grundo Commanders, Grundo Troopers, Evil
Sloth Clones, etc. The Tyrannian War had Korbat Scouts, Chia Bombers, etc. You
can't fight them anymore. The Meridell War also probably won't have Potato Chias
and Rabid Farming Elephantes, although that surely would be interesting. But...eh...Potato
Chia Pops...back to subject. The Meridell War will most likely consist of enemies
along the lines of those creatures in Plot Part 1 and Dark Faeries and so forth.
The Plot Part 1 Creatures probably have a name, like Citads or something. The
names would most likely be like Winged Acara Citad.
After you defeat the 'Citads' (not real name) you are traditionally given access
to the next level enemy. It would look something like this:
Winged Acara Citad - Defeated (3 times)
Scorchio Citad Sorcerer - Defeated (1 time)
Dark Faerie Warrior - Undefeated (Lost to once)
Destroyer Grarrl Citad - Unavailable to fight (Haven't fought)
However, things do change. We may end up having to actually find these enemies,
hiding in the smallest corners of Neopia. Maybe to get a Armed Draik Citad you
have to find a Citad Draik Egg and bring it to the Draik Nest. The result is
access to that challenger. (Not a Draik) Who knows? That would actually be quite
fun. (Having to spin the Wheel of Excitement 100 times to get Meuka or whatever
would NOT be fun.)
Now, the big question is when to fight. If you have 2 HP, it is not a good
time to fight. It's a good time to start getting on your hands and knees and
beg the Water Faerie at the Healing Springs to get you full heal. If you have
homework or a job, it is not a good time to fight. It's a good time to start
sending your boss or teacher candy and other goodies, with a little note asking
for a day off. If your town is being attacked by a huge fire-breathing monster
with rotting wings and polka-dot eyeballs...well, get a fire blanket over you
and your computer and kick some Citad behind.
Another notice about timing: the Monoceraptor and Rock Beast were the 'War
Bosses' in the past two. The ultra-citad. The big picture. The whole taco. Everyone
has access to this beast. All you have to do is deliver the final blow, as the
HP slowly goes down with each hit from separate people. Not a good idea to use
all your Clockwork Grundos and Snowballs right when the big boss comes out.
It's a better idea to use Drain Life and other things that can be down from
one battle to the next.
Getting the Max. Amount of Kills...er...Victories Possible
You know, it has never really been verified what happens to your opponent
when you defeat them. I say they die, or at least are serious injured or something.
It's a big mystery. There may very well be a mountain of suffering Chia Bombers
we don't know about...
But, how do you get the Maximum Amount of Victories possible? Well, there is
no maximum, it's more like whatever your goal is. For example, mine is 500ish.
Let's say this is how I start off.
Easiest Opponent vs. My Neopet
That wasn't that hardest thing to do, since my Neopet has above average
stats.
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +1) vs. My Neopet
Not much harder.
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +2) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +3) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +4) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +5) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +6) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +7) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +8) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +9) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +10) vs. My Neopet
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +11) vs. My Neopet
I'm still going strong. Let's skip a few difficulty levels.
Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +45) vs. My Neopet
I tie my opponent, meaning I've pretty much battled this one as much I could.
It's onto the next opponent!
2nd Easiest Opponent vs. My Neopet
Skip a Few
2nd Easiest Opponent (with difficulty +39) vs. My Neopet
I tie against the 2nd Easiest one quicker then the Easiest, which makes
sense. This is one of the patterns I'll use to get the max. amount of victories
possible. Another tip is NOT to be defensive when it's not needed. If you have
24 HP and your opponent 12, you could easily take them out with a few Caustic
Potions and Fierce. You may get more damage dealt, but you get the battle done
quicker. And in one-player matches, your HP is restored right after you win.
Also, a rule of thumb of any match is not to go ahead and use your Earthen Scorchstone
and Downsize Power Plus when your opponent is frozen.
Let's say you've fought all available 'Citads,' and every match you fight is
tied. How are you going to be able to squeeze in a few more victories? Well,
first of all, enroll your Neopet in the Training School. HP, Strength, Defence,
it really doesn't matter between those three. Second, get some one-use items
into the mix. A Clockwork Grundo or a Golden Brucey B Battlecard is always nice.
Third, do you have other Neopets? I have 2 that battle on a regular basis, egold
and spacegold. Although the weaker one of those two (egold) is who I'm planning
to start off fighting with, as soon as egold can't fight anymore I'm moving
to spacegold. Fourth, study the opponents weapons. If they use darkness weapons,
get a Moon Staff or Eathen Scorchstone to defend yourself. Or if they have a
lot of HP, (or more then you.) use the ability Drain Life if ya got it, or Hubrid
Nox's Puzzle Box is you have that. (You'd be 23 million Neopoints richer then
me probably.)
What is going to happen to Meridell?
Many things are going on with Meridell. First of all, lookie at the Meridell
Castle. Right now it says: To the South of Meridell lies the castle of King
Skarl, king of the whole of Meridell (that is until somebody decides to atta...)
shhh Adam you have said too much! That means something is going to happen
to Meridell, or at least to King Skarl. May it be he is beheaded (ew) the entire
land will fall under a cloud of chaos, no one to lead them against the Citads,
and maybe, even, they become Citads too.
Maybe your Neopet becomes a Citad.
Yes, this is the part you've been waiting for, how to get yourself a Plot Part
One Creature. You see, in a recent editorial, here is another quote:
Is there really going to be a paint brush for Meridell? If so, what will
it look like? Yes, and we aren't telling. You will just have to wait and
see... It's not a farmer or vegetable paint brush before you ask!
Well, why would it be a secret? Because it's totally awesome (to some people)
or totally hideous? (to the rest of us) That's right, you are going to be able
to morph your Neopet into a Citad! But, if that's the paint brush for Meridell,
what happens to the farmers and such? Something is up. On the chat boards reports
of Adam hinting that Meridell is destroyed may be another clue. But, the world
is so large, how can that be the truth? All that work to waste? No army can
destroy that easily. Something is up...
And don't forget, Meridell is going to be under attack! A castle normally locks
itself up, so everything inside Skarl's Castle will most likely be unavailable.
This includes Meriball, the Stones Game, and everything else.
Here's another problem. Who's going to be attacking us? Where are the coming
from? Well, people have reported sightings of a fortress floating high above
the orange coloured sky of Meridell. A fan site had said the name of this fortress
could be the Flying Citadel. Roughly, the definition of a citadel is something
that commands the city, and is a stronghold. That Web site probably was close.
Notice I call the invaders 'citads' after Citadel. And, hmm...Citadel? Meridell?
Michael Dell? Maybe instead of the place called Citadel, it'll be Citadell.
That's going to be a pain in the neck for most spelling teachers.
And what is Jelly World doing in the entire mix? That's a mystery more dark
then the Draik Cave my friend.
Well, support Maraqua and bye in six different languages until next time! Feel
free to Neomail
me with your compliments, flames, to point out mistakes, etc.
