The Baby-sitter's Nightmare

by miss_laddy

Pry, my infamous faerie Lupess, sat at the window, tapping the frame nervously.

"Do you think she'll be back before the baby-sitter gets here?" Charmy asked from the couch. The rainbow Zafara had distaste for baby-sitters. Not that the others didn't, they only worked together in order to drive the sitters crazy.

"She better!" Plushie snarled. She was a skunk Lupe with an intense dislike for mainly everything except plushies.

"Well, too bad I won't be here!" Mina laughed, showing off the key to the basement.

"You little--" Pry started. A car parking in front of the house cut her off.

"Well, I'm off!" the white Lupe made her way to the basement/lab.

"Oh, no you don't!" Plushie cut her path. "You'll have to suffer as well!"

     "All right..."

Out of the car came a white Aisha.

"Quick, Plushie! Do your stuff!" Pry said alarmed.

Plushie took from underneath the couch a green cloak.

     "Quick, she's ringing!" Mina whispered.

"I'm trying!" Plushie mumbled and put on the cloak.

Answering the door, Plushie modified her voice. "Who's there?" she asked through the door in strangled voice.

"I'm Minodora. Is this Miss_Laddy's residence?" the Aisha asked. "I'm supposed to baby-sit tonight!"

"There no miss_labby here!" Plushie replied.

     "Oh...then...can you direct me to--"

"Go twelve houses down the hill!" Plushie yelled.

Pry, Mina and Charmy were snickering.

"Phew .Good thing I didn't have to open the door," Plushie said, taking the cloak off.

"With some luck, we got rid of her for good!" Pry snickered.

Half an hour later...

Someone knocked on the door. Charmy bounced and opened it.

     "Hello?" Charmy asked.

Outside was a fuming white Aisha.

"When I get my hands on you brats--" Minodora bellowed.

"When you do," Pry stepped aside Charmy "Mom won't pay you!"

The baby-sitter let her paws drop in defeat. Coming in, she dropped her backpack on the floor and collapsed on the couch.

All four pets stared at Minodora.

     "Well?" Mina broke the silence.

     "Well what?" Minodora spat.

"Hello-o!" Mina waved her paw."Dinner! If you wanna be paid, Dora dear, we'll have to NOT die of hunger."

Dora whined, but dragged her feet to the kitchen.

"Psst, Mina. Did you fix the oven?" Pry whispered.

"Was I suppose to?" Mina scratched the back of her head.

"Mom asked you to this morning when the pie exploded!" Pry smiled.

"Oooooooh...I didn't get to." Mina smirked back.

Suddenly, there was a giant "BOOOOOOM" from the kitchen and a blackened Aisha was thrown across the room.

"Now look what you've done!" Plushie said, approaching Dora which, needless to say, was stamped to the wall. "You broke the oven!"

"Oh... could you pass the phone?" Dora asked, slowly sliding off the wall.

Charmy winked in Mina's direction. Mina scattered to the basement.

While Dora was dialing the Pizzaroo number, Mina was rewiring in the basement. Attaching a loose wire to a broken phone, she waited until it rang. Picking it up, she coughed and modified her voice.

     "Hello? Pizz-a-roo a-here!" she said.

"Hello? Pizzaroo? I need to place an order," Dora's voice came

"A-sorry, but-a an oven exploded-a. Call a-back in-a two weeks!" and she hung up.

Mina enjoyed torturing baby-sitters. She did the same bit when Dora phones Hubert's Hot-dogs, the Chocolate Factory and even the Health Foods!

"I'm giving up!" Dora said, while wiping the ash off her with a towel.

"We can always eat something from the fridge!" Charmy said while sitting in the Red Beanbag and reading a comic.

"What did you say?" Dora said, flinching.

"There's food in the fridge," Charmy said, not taking her nose out of the comic.

"And you didn't tell me this because..." Dora stated, looking at Pry and Plushie.

"We thought you knew!" Pry defended herself.

Dora started bumping her head to the walls.

"Ooooookaaaaaayyy..." Dora hung on the sentence.

"How 'bout Neopoker?" Pry snickered, poking Plushie slightly, unseen to Dora.

Plushie growled low, but then got the message.

"Ya!Ya...umm...how about playing Neopoker?" Plushie reinforced. "On...Neopoints?"

Dora rubbed her chin (well, you get the point!).

"Do you two know how to play?" the Aisha asked.

"No, unfortunately we're just beginners..." Pry lied.

     "Okay then!" Dora glowed evilly.

Meanwhile, Charmy was doing one of her favourite things...Mindlessly destroying items behind the couch. This time, she'd searched in Dora's backpack and tried to decapitate her Disco Aisha Plushie. Then drank her Sour Apple Slushie and ate her Neodrops.

Sitting content on the couch, she was watching TV.

Mina, however, was preparing a new potion. It was a psychedelic green and by the looks of it, Mina was quite happy of it.

Upstairs...

"I can't believe this!" Dora yelled, paying Pry and Plushie. "I thought you two were beginners!"

"Lucky beginners!" Pry snickered. "And don't forget to pay the oven, too!" Pry said, pointing to it.

"Fine! Here!" Dora slapped some Neopoints in Plushie's paw.

"Want a complementary drink?" Mina asked, pouring a suspicious green potion in a glass.

"As long as it's free..." Dora grabbed the glass and drank it.

"That'll be twenty Neopoints." Mina extended her paw.

"I thought you said it was free!" Dora spat.

"I would've, but you already drank it!" Mina replied, not wincing. Dora reluctantly paid the Lupe.

Soon after drinking the peculiar potion, Dora started glowing.

     "Dora, you're radioactive!" Charmy yelled.

Dora stared for one second at her glowing green paw, then erupted in yells and screams and ran out the door.

Coming close to our NeoHome, I couldn't help notice Minodora, which now was glowing, screaming like Sloth was on her tracks. But the peculiar thing was that she was running away from the house...

I came in and found the girls rolling on the floor laughing. I put my hands on my hips and shook my head.

"Can't I leave you guys with a baby-sitter WITHOUT scaring the Faeries out of her?" I asked playfully.

The End

Author Note: No pets were harmed in the making of this story. Baby-sitters, however, are a different story...

The pet "Minodora" currently doesn't exist. If you wish to create such pet, be my guest!
