The Good and Bad Kacheek

by spirit_angel97

Starpudge was a timid and peace loving Neopian. She hated violence, Battledome fights and scary things. She was a wimp but helpful and very nice. She earned peoples respect and reputation.

She had to rely on her siblings to protect her if something should go wrong. She often was picked on bullies because they were surprisingly jealous of her! She had the respect and she had many friends but one day this all changed...

“OK little Kacheek! Give me all your lunch money or else!” the punk Gelert threatened her.

“I can’t. I don’t have any lunch money,” she replied simply.

“Oh well I give you something...BRUISES ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!”

The Kacheek gulped hoping one of her siblings would come and rescue her but none came. All her friends fled already and people are keeping right away from the small but common scene. Where are my brothers and sister? she asked herself.

Her sister Annadorix, a blue Ixi was waiting in the long queue in the school canteen or tucker shop (however you want to call it). Her brother Salbede, a red Scorchio was fighting with a friend in the school playground. Her other brother Reptar, a green Grarrl was on detention because he spat spit balls in class. None of them was around or even aware of their little sister being beaten up.

After the bullies left the poor peace loving Kacheek on the ground batted and bruised some of her friends came up. “Oh my. I thought one of your brothers would come and help you!” cried her yellow Acara friend Jayne. “I would have come but I can’t fight.”

After her friends helped her up and cleaned her a bit. Starpudge started to cry. She couldn’t help it. All her friends could do was shift nervously or put an arm around her. But she wasn’t crying because she was hurt. She was crying that her siblings didn’t come for her and that she was a total wimp. She couldn’t fight if her life depended on it. So she decided to take action.

The next day...

She woke up. Anger burned deep inside her from yesterday. She looked in the mirror and put on a black T-shirt, black shorts and wore a black cap but backwards. She stuck some bubble gum in her mouth and put on some black sunnies on. She looked totally different. Unrecognisable.

She headed down stairs and heard her family gasp at her. “Starpudge...is that you?” asked her owner dumbfounded by what she was seeing.

“Of cause who else? I’m not some poor defenceless little Neopet anymore. I don’t need my snobby siblings anymore,” Starpudge replied almost laughing as if she was always tough and bad.

“We were not snobby!” cried Annadorix in protest.

Starpudge eyed the blue Ixi. “You left me there! To be beaten up!”

“Well you should learn how to fight!” cried Salbede angrily.

“And that’s what I’m going to do,” she replied and left out the door

On the way to school...

Starpudge was riding on a bike that she stole off a red Blumaroo. She was riding on it. Teaching herself to do willies and bunny hops. Once she got to school no one recognised her. People looked at her curiously at her. She chewed her gum and blew bubbles. Suddenly her teacher came up to her.

“Starry? Is that you?” her teacher asked sheepishly.

Her teacher was a tall yellow Aisha. She was nice and beautiful looking and wore stylish spectacles.

“Yeah it’s me. Who do you think it was? Santa Claus?” she replied rudely and pushed past her. Shocked her teacher could just faint to the ground but she didn’t. Instead she just remain quiet and started to be a bit curious of Starpudge’s behaviour and how she gotten so mean.

Lunchtime.

The bullies came up to Starpudge when they found out who she was. “So Pudge face! What’s with the black look?” asked her bully Flump the green Gelert.

     “Nothin’,” she replied simply.

“Wanna be cool?” asked her bully.

“No. I just wanna kick your can!” she replied and blew a bubble.

“Trying to be tough erh? Well I challenge you to a Battledome match in the Stonedome arena tomorrow, Saturday!” he challenged.

“OK but on one condition. If you win. You can have all my lunch money for the whole year but if I win you will never bother me again!” she replied simply

"OK! You are on little Kacheek!” he accepted and walked off. Her friends looked at her horrified.

“You don’t know how to battle!” her friend Jayne exclaimed. “We’ll I’m gonna learn” and with that she left the school grounds.

She rode her bike to the docks and dumped her bike there. Then she caught a modern ship and sailed for Krawk Island. There she stole a dubloon and then headed for the academy.

Meanwhile back at the school...

Starpudge’s friends stood there dumbfounded by what they saw. “I can’t believe she just left,” cried Molly the shadowed Aisha.

“Maybe she’s possessed by evil!” cried Nicole the yellow Quiggle.

Everyone laughed at her. “That's the dumbest thing I ever heard!” laughed Cindy the Tonu.

Nicole got mad. “Well it could!” she protested. “It’s not like Starpudge to leave school grounds like that. That would be braking school rules!”

“Do you geeks ever brake one school rule?” asked Annadorix as she approached the group of friends.

“No not that I could think of” answered Jayne.

“What not even one?!” exclaimed Annadorix in surprise.

     “Nope.”

“Whoa you guys are a bunch of goody to shoes!” cried Annadorix in surprise. “Say where’s my sister?”

     “Gone,” replied Molly.

     “Where?” asked Annadorix in surprise.

“Somewhere to train for her big match tomorrow against Flump the Green Gelert,” explained Cindy.

“Oh no. Starpudge doesn’t even like battles! She’s taken this too far” exclaimed Annadorix.

Back on Krawk Island...

“Arrrrrr. Why are yer here?” asked the famous Cap’n Threelegs.

“I wanna be trained duh!” she replied in a sarcastic voice.

Cap’n Threelegs frowned. “Ye is a rude little one. I mean why aren’t ya at school?"

“It’s none of your business. Look I just want to be trained,” she said a bit annoyed.

“Arrrr. Well that will be One Dubloon Coin. Johnny here will be trainin’ ya.”

“Hey why not you?” she asked.

“Arrrr I have to train higher scallywags than you,” he replied.

Suddenly behind Cap’n Threelegs was a yellow Kyrii. He wore the usual pirate stuff. Sword, eye patch, hat with cross bones, etc. Starpudge shrugged and followed Johnny out into the beach. John carried two wooden swords. He passed one to Starpudge when they got to their destination.

So they trained until sunset shone on their faces.

“Well that’s it for today,” Johnny said as Starpudge gave the wooden sword back. “I guess you got to go home.”

“Yeah whateva...” Starpudge sat down on the beach.

Curious, Johnny sat beside her. “What’s the matter. Don’t you like training?”

Starpudge let out a sigh. “No. I don’t even like fighting. In fact I hate it! I even don’t know what I am doing here,” she admitted for once without being rude. She poured out everything to Johnny. She couldn’t help it. But now she was in trouble. She had to fight tomorrow against her foe. Her life depended on it. If she would lose then she would lose her lunch money but if she won he would never bother her again. To her the stakes were high.

“Well first you set things right, then you worry about tomorrow,” replied Johnny. And with that the Kacheek left.

Meanwhile at her house...

"WHAT!” I can’t believe it. Why should she do that? She doesn’t even like fighting and now she is going to fight another pet!” yelled out her owner in surprised after Annadorix told her what happened today.

“Oh mom you don’t have to yell! Geez,” cried Annadorix, rubbing her ear.

“Oh, I’m sorry dear,” her owner replied.

"I’m beginning to worry about that girl,” the owner said as she strolled into the living room where her pets her siting.

“Oh it’s a phase that she’s going through that's all,” said Reptar.

“Nah. It’s because we weren’t there when she needed us. I’m glad she’s getting some training,” commented Salbede.

“Oh what ever it is she better get home soon or I’LL will have to punish her,” her owner replied, knowing that she never ever punished Starpudge because she never misbehaved.

Back to Starpudge...

It was dark when she was at the ship docks in Neopia Central. She found her red bike still there. “I guess the Pant Devil must be on holiday,” she murmured as she picked up the bike. She hopped on it and rode to the Red Blumaroo’s place where she had stolen the bike. She knocked on the door.

The owner opened the door. “Yes?” she asked.

Starpudge took off her sunglasses off for the first time. I’m here to return your pet’s bike. I stolen it earlier today and I’m really sorry,” she explained.

The owner nodded and called her pet. The sad Blumaroo came to the door but his face lit up when he saw his bike.

“No harm done. I let you go this time,” replied the owner.

“Thanks!” cried Starpudge and ran home.

When Starpudge burst through the door panting and out of breath her owner ran up to her and hugged her.

“Where have you been! Why did you leave the school like that!” he owner asked her almost yelling.

“Because I needed some training. I have a fight tomorrow,” Starpudge replied.

“I know. Your sister told me but you don’t like fighting!” her owner exclaimed talking her to the living room.

“I know. I’m in trouble,” Starpudge replied sadly as she hopped on the couch next to her brother Salbede. Her siblings were sitting around reading books and munching on snacks. Over hearing the conversation they joined in.

“Well don’t look to us for help!” said Salbede angrily.

“Yeah we are to snobby for you aren’t we?” said Annadorix in a sarcastic voice.

Starpudge stared at the ground. “I don’t need your help because I need to fight my battles and you guys are never snobby for me. I was just angry that you weren’t there when I needed you. I’m sorry I haven’t been myself, I just wanted to beat Flump or make him stop hurting me...” she mumbled sadly

“Well there is no way that you are going to beat him with your stats,” Reptar replied. “Either lose or forfeit”

“Lose? Forfeit? No way! I can’t! I'll lose all my lunch money for a whole year!” Starpudge exclaimed.

“Well you're in trouble and we can’t help you because it isn’t our match,” Annadorix said.

Starpudge hunched and leaned back against the sofa. “Well can I fight him tomorrow mom?” she asked her owner.

Her owner hesitated for a second. “Oh all right, but take some of your brother’s Battledome gear and be careful....”

The Kacheek nodded and went to bed.

The next day...

STONEDOME - The Kacheek stood in front of her foe. Her heart raced and tried to remember what Johnny had taught her. She had a red frost cannon, a small metal shield, 2 exploding snowballs, ultra rainbow flash, striped hammer, a uskiberry potion and a Green Invisihat.

The same horrible feeling washed over her. Every time someone fights in the Battledome or just be violent she gets this horrible feeling and this dives her to hate all violence. It may sound silly but it’s quite true. Anyway... she stood in front of her foe. Her foe was well equipped with the full Gelert Amour. He looked kind of funny. He held a space basher and a frost cannon. He had a healing potion and a spark shooter. Her family was cheering on the sidelines.

This is it Starpudge! You gonna teach this bully. And after this you wont fight anymore battles again! Starpudge thought to herself. She picked up the small metal shield off the stone ground and held the red frost cannon. The armoured Gelert picked up the space basher an his spark shooter.

READY!” yelled the referee “FIGHT!” Flump got into action quick. He ran towards the Kacheek and zapped his spark shooter. Starpudge cried and held out her shield in front if her. It blocked the attack. Then he came up to her and start to hit her and zap her and she tried to defend herself with the small metal shield.

“Come on wimp!” he chuckled. “Fight me!”

Starpudge tore her eyes open and held the frost cannon at him the fired. He was knocked backwards. Then with all her might she threw an exploding snowball. BOOM! The Gelert was thrown into the air then crashed back down. His armour blackened a bit and chunks out of it has gone. He got up. Furious than ever. “You’LL pay for that you little Kacheek!” he screamed out in rage.

Starpudge wide eyed with terror stood back. “Don’t let him scare you! Just fight him!” called Salbede from the sidelines. Starpudge swallowed and put on the Green Invisihat and held a Striped Hammer. She was completely invisible. “Hey where did you go you coward?” Flump yelled angrily and drank his potion. Suddenly Flump was thrown backwards or more likely hit backwards. He fell the ground with a ‘clank’. Then he felt someone hammering down on him. “OW... stop it!” he cried.

He rolled over avoiding the next blow then stood up. He closed his eyes and listened very carefully then he zapped into the air but instead of going to the other side of the dome it hit something and made a buzzing sound.

“Ahhhhh,” yelled a familiar voice. It fell with a ‘thud’ and Starpudge’s hat came off revealing her.

“All right little Kacheek you have done it!” he yelled.

He aimed his frost cannon at her. She barley got up when it was fired. She was shot to the other side of the Stonedome. She was badly hurt since she her stats isn’t that high.

“Heh, heh, heh!” Flump chuckled as he walked over to the little blue lump. “You should never ever try to be cool like me ever! You weakling!”

He picked her up by the ruff of her neck. Then he saw an empty bottle of uskiberry potion in her hand and the angry look in her eyes. Staring right through him. He dropped her and Starpudge shot at him ultra rainbow flash. He took full hit, then before he could recover she threw with all her might her last exploding snowball.

     BOOM!

He flew right up almost hitting the roof then fell back down to the ground with a large metallic thud. Unable to move the referee declared Starpudge the winner.

Starpudge was never hassled by Flump again. She defiantly didn’t fight or tried to be cool again. She like everything the way it was.

The End

Note Starpudge, Salbede, Reptar and Annadorix are real Neopets the rest are fictional characters. Oh and a big thank you to Ohmama_449 for letting me use her pets in the story.
