When I started to play NeoPets, I soon found one of the
most beneficial spots in Neopia:
The
Healing Springs
This place is hosted by the Water Faerie. This kind creature
always welcomes you with nice words. Unless you are currently fighting
in the Battledome, she will be happy to help your pet.
You can ask for her help every 30 minutes, that means
48 times per day.
Is your pet suffering from a disease? Then your first
thought should be: how can I make my pet feel better again.
A disease is normally cured by a special kind of medicine,
and the medicine you need can be found in the Neopian Pharmacy. Your pet
might have gotten any kind of illness by a random event. Then you should
be able to heal it with the needed medicine, because you should have enough
NP to afford it. But what if you spun the Wheel
of Excitement and got "The Skull"?
When I started playing NeoPets, the disease you got from
"The Skull" always was D'achoo. Therefore, to cure my pet, I would need
Neopkins. But when I searched the shops, I got shocked: The lowest price
was 6000 NP! Later I found out the reason: Becoming ill from the Wheel
of Excitement is the most common way for a pet to ever get a disease.
Not that I would underestimate the benefits of the wheel, but for some
reason, it only caused one kind of disease: D'achoo.
OK, I thought, I guess I'll have to find a way to make
that money, because I wanted to cure my pet. I spun the Wheel
of Mediocrity after that and I got bitten by a flying Dinosaur.
So I thought I need to bye a healing potion as well. Now where do I get
those potions? Answer is: The Healing Springs.
I went there, and since I hadn't been there for 30 minutes,
I first asked the Faerie to heal my pets. I was happy to read the following:
All your pets are fully healed and they are not hungry any more. I checked
out she really healed all my lost Hitpoints. I was really surprised that
not only my pet got back to full Hitpoints, but it also got rid of the
disease!
By the way, the disease you get from "The Skull" these
days is "Bloaty Belly", that's why the price for Neopkins dropped to below
1000, while the price for Flat-U-Less raised from about 150 NP to over
3000 NP.
So the first thing why the Healing Springs should be worth
a visit is that you will be cured from a disease there for free.
Have you been bitten by a Petrasaurus, burned by the
Lava Ghoul, hit by flaming fireballs from the sky, attacked by the Snowager
or beaten in the Battledome?
Before you give your pet a Healing potion you should
always visit the Healing Springs. Especially when you are low in level
and only have few maximum Hitpoints, almost every kind of healing will
at least heal half of your wounds.
So the second thing why the Healing Springs is great is
because the Faerie might heal all your pets wounds.
Would you like a little better chance in the Battledome?
Then you might go to the Healing Springs first. Because when the healing
contains the gaining of a special amount of Hitpoints, they are added
to your pets health even if you are fully healed! So you might have a
maximum Hitpoint amount of 12, but you can enter the Battledome with 20
Hitpoints!
So the third reason for going to the Healing Springs
is to get an advantage in the Battledome
Do you like free stuff? There are only a few places
in Neopia where you can get free stuff, and the Healing Springs is one
of them. Every once in a while, instead of healing your pet, the Faerie
will give you a potion of some kind. It can be a Healing Potion I, or
a Healing Potion X, it can be a Lime Elixir or a Pale Elixir. However,
the item is free.
So the fourth reason why the Healing Springs is a great
place: it's one of the places where you can get free stuff.
Finally, the Faerie might even fill your pet with food.
In my nearly 2 months of being a NeoPet-user, I only had to feed my pet
about 8-10 times instead of every day, just because of the Faerie at the
Healing Springs.
So the final reason why you should visit the Healing
Springs is getting a free meal for your pet. At the end I want to make
a list of the kind of healings offered by the Faerie, all have about the
same chance to happen:
Gaining Hitpoints (might even go over your maximum
HP)
Your pet gets one Hitpoint
Your pet gets three Hitpoints
Your pet gets fife Hitpoints
Your pet gets eight Hitpoints
Being healed (brings you back to maximum Hitpoints. If
they where raised above maximum, the bonus is gone).
Your pet regains his Hitpoints and is not hungry any
more (does not cure disease)
Your pet is fully healed (does cure disease)
Your pet is fully healed and not hungry any more
All your pets regain their hitpoints and are not hungry any more
All your pets are fully healed and are not hungry any more
