Neopia's Next Destination?

by peachifruit

EXPLORE MAP - All sorts of talk has been abounding in Neopia lately concerning the new world. With a new plot to follow, and even a new war on the horizon, Meridell has certainly risen to its peak of popularity.

What other worlds can we expect in the future, though? Certainly Neopians have been hoping for a medieval world for some time, and now that they have it, what new themes can we look forward to? I've included in this article a list of only a few themed worlds that we can (hopefully) anticipate in the near future of Neopia.

Orient Theme

This could explain where all of that sushi is coming from. Perhaps this could introduce a new monarchy with a vain princess named (insert catchy Asian name here) who can't seem to find her favourite Kimono. The kimono could actually be an ancient artifact that was stolen by a tribe of vengeful ninjas whose leader was killed by a warrior princess wearing the kimono. Perhaps this could unfold into a quest (like NPv2 or The Crown Hunt) in which whoever can find the kimono first will be entrusted with the duty of stopping the ninjas from murdering the princess (who has a striking resemblance to the warrior princess, her... er... mother.) After the battle is fought and won, the royal family will reward all of the Neopians (who fought, anyway,) with a hefty reward of NP and items, and the world will be peaceful once again and open to the general Neopian public. The End.

There could also be games such as 'Stack-a-sushi,' a tetris-like game involving different types of sushi and sashimi, different festivals for special times of the year, and even sliding paper doors!

Roman Theme

In this world, there could possibly be a contest yearly where Neopets compete to be the next annual Caesar (or Caesar-ess as the case may be.) This may not have been traditional in ancient Rome; however, this is Neopia, isn't it? Perhaps there could also be a Coliseum. Maybe your pets won't be viciously slaughtered by a pack of rabid lions, but there could always be an alternative. There could also be many fun games involving this theme. That's right, take off your sandals and hop in the grape-squishing fermented fun of NeoRoman wine making! There could also be games somewhat to the effect of Chariot Racing, tapestry making, and even a new plot! Who knows?

Kauboy/girl Theme

I'm surprised this world doesn't exist yet. Dress your pet in a ten-gallon hat and boots and send them into the wild sunset on their trusty steed, (ER maybe a Kau or a Uni,) in this western world. Perhaps you won't have to settle for the normal Rainbow Gun here; it might introduce new weapons as well, (all based on jelly or asparagus or cauliflower or something else equally bizarre.) And what will be the best thing about this world? High noon showdowns, of course! Invite another pet to a showdown on the Main Street; something like a Western Battledome, if you will. What else could you expect from this world? Western food! Spicy food (really spicy food) is what the cafés and restaurants could offer here. Maybe this world could explain where Moondrops the Enchantress came from.

Hollywood Theme

Every aspiring actor/actress's dream! Send your pet to a team of critics to determine whether or not they can be Neopia's next acting/directing sensation! Once they have a contract, maybe they could star in a commercial to get on their feet. Then it's off to the movie studios once a director and writer request that you be in their movie. Who knows--maybe you'll have your own star on the street! In the meantime, there could be a cooking contest to see who will be the next famous Neopian Chef; (just supply a recipe for your dish. It could become the next gourmet food!) Lost Worlds

Raise your hand if you want to go to Kiko Lake! Lilac Island, maybe? For quite a while lost worlds such as these have been tantalising explorers; and although many of them wish to visit the Air Faerie Cloud or the Endless plains, they can't. Perhaps some of these will be revealed in the future. In the meantime, let's just hope for the worlds above.

Note: I cannot guarantee that any of the preceding worlds will ever exist, or that if they do, any of the activities or plots will ever exist. In the meantime, isn't Illusen waiting for you in Meridell?
