PRINCESS LILAC WAS wandering the corridors of her beautiful palace sadly. She
just been awakened by a nightmare of the horrid battle that she would never
forget. It was so real. Her delicate Lupe paw was cold from throwing snowballs
in the dream. The last time she had this dream it wasn't a dream. It was the
snow beast attack. All Neopets that live in the Winter World know about the
attack. Princess Lilac remembered the attack as if it was yesterday. She remembered
every gory detail.
She was much younger on that dreadful day. She
had been outside, practising her snowball throwing. She was great at it, the
best in all of Neopia. She had one a snowball throwing competition a year before,
and had received a lifetime supply of the best snowballs around. That day, she
was having that bad feeling. She had had a terrible nightmare the last night,
of targets, running at her. Faster and faster. She was frantically throwing
snowballs at them, but they wouldn't die! That nightmare had felt so real.
Anyway, she was on the lookout while snowball
practice. Out in front of her, was what seemed to be a walking lumps of snow.
There seemed to be hundreds. She had to go inside and worn the others. The palace
was ready for battle in seconds. Princess Lilac ran to her best friend's room
to tell her to come and help in the battle. Lacie the Lupe was a great snow
ball thrower also. He two Lupes had grown up together, and were always practising
together. After Lacie was ready to go, the Princess shot straight down the crystal
staircase. It spiraled on and on.
"Where are we going?" asked Lacie.
"To my secret stash!" replied the Princess.
This was the stash of snowballs that the princess had won from her competition.
They grabbed the ice chest, and stashed as many snowballs as possible in it.
"Come on! Let's go fight!" said an excited Lacie,
listening to the commotion outside.
"We can't just run right out there into the
line of fire (snow). I have created many maps of the Palace. Around it, inside
it, surrounding terrain, and lots more. Let's create a plan. It will only take
like an hour. Please. We can be heroes!"
"There is no time for plans. I'm going out there!"
And at that, Lacie took the ice chest out through the secret exit and was gone.
"I don't need her," said the Princess to herself.
She went on and studied her maps and diagrams that would save them all. After
about an hour of studying, she had a great idea. She would go to the balcony,
and pile up boxes for guard. She did so and brought her stash up. It took lots
of hard work. Then she tied a rope from the balcony down. Every time that a
snow beast tried to climb up the rope, the brilliant Princess would cut the
rope, and then tie another on.
Princess Lilac inspected the damage among the
battlefield. It was the most depressing thing she ever saw in her lie. Many
fallen guards were laying motionless on the snowy field. Among the victims on
the ground was Lacie!
The Princess jumped down from the balcony, repelling
from the rope. She got her stash on the field. She ran over to Lacie's side,
the hot tears on her face streaming down.
"Don't leave! NOOOOOOOOOO!" It was too late.
Lacie was gone. Then with a loud screech, the Princess said, "Everyone from
my Palace, stop fighting, and go to the front gates."
"But Princess, it is way too dangerous--" the
soldier was cut off by the princess.
"Follow my orders soldier. I have to do this
for Lacie." The soldier reluctantly walked to the front gates of the Palace,
not looking forward to the Princess facing her doom.
"You destroyed my friend, and now I'm going
to get revenge!" roared the Princess. That line will be in the history books
for a long time. One Koi swore that he had heard Princess Lilac screaming and
he was in Maraqua, back when it still existed.
It was now time for the princess to do her work.
She threw snowballs left and right, dodging snow beasts. She fought out in the
cold for two straight days, until the band of evil foes surrendered. Their leader
had taken a blow to the head with a stone snowball, and had deceased. The Palace
had thrown a huge party for the Princess. She enjoyed it, but terribly missed
Lacie.
Princess Lilac has dreams of the battle every
so often, and ends up crying hot tears many nights. From the time the Princess
becomes Queen and her reign ends, she will always miss and remember Lacie, and
the Attack on Happy Valley.
