Doomsday Rider VI: Prince Zing-Lau Returns - Part Two

by yugo149

Previously, on Doomsday Rider VI, Prince Zing-Lau has returned from the Dark Dimension and has an all new plan for universal conquest. Tuturis has already began to reawaken, and the skies of both Neopia and Earth are black. Anubis III defeated Squire in a battle for the San-katahn Forest, and is being ambushed.

ANUBIS FELT HIMSELF slipping into unconsciousness. The steel cable tightened around his throat, choking him. The officers drug Anubis out of the forest, and took him to the pound.

***

"Dr_Death!" One of the officers shouted at the yellow Techo, who was sleeping at his desk.

"Huh? Wha--?" he asked, waking up. "Oh, it's you, Xion. How may I help you?"

"Prince Squire wants this Lupe locked away for a long time," Xion said, sprawling the unconscious Anubis on the floor.

"Is this Anubis III?" Dr_Death asked.

"You know him?" Xion asked in reply.

"Yes, I know him. He's been here at least twenty times by now. He's always being picked up, and somehow he always escapes from his cage, without the lock being tampered with," Dr_Death explained.

"Interesting," Xion said, taking the steel cable off of Anubis' throat. Xion walked out of the pound while Psychodogg and Boomdogg walked in.

"Abandoning your Lupe?" Dr_Death assumed. He sighed and opened his desk to fill out the information on Boomdogg.

"No chance," Psychodogg answered. "I saw your 'Help Wanted' ad in The Neopian Times and figured I'd try and get it."

"Okay," Dr_Death said, putting the forms back in his desk. "Follow me."

Psychodogg and Boomdogg followed Dr_Death into the back room.

"Have a seat," Dr_Death said. Psychodogg sat in one of the chairs and Boomdogg sat on the floor next to him. They went through an extensive job interview, and Psychodogg somehow managed to get the job. He was going to help feed the abandoned NeoPets. He was going to get paid pretty well, too. 40 NP an hour.

The alarms blared as a mysterious figure slipped through the security systems at the Neopian History Museum. A security guard grabbed his gun and tried to shoot the intruder. The bullets went right through him as though he was made of water. Slowly his form changed to a Shoyru, and he continued through the halls toward the Jadestone. He broke down the security door and continued inside. He walked to the back of the room and picked up the Jadestone. He turned around and was greeted by several more security guards.

"Fools," he whispered. He held out his hand, swung it across his field of vision, and all the security guards dropped to the floor, unconscious. The blue figure slipped out of the museum with the Jadestone rested in his arms. He continued on silently to Prince Zing-Lau's lair.

***

"Very good, Achinarak," Zing-Lau said, taking the Jadestone from him.

"The security guards at the museum were weaklings," Achinarak answered.

"Good. You did remember to be in the form of a Shoyru, right?" Zing-Lau asked.

"Of course, your highness," Achinarak answered.

"Good. Now that wretched Shoyru will be too busy running from the police to defeat me," Zing-Lau vaunted.

"Zing-Lau, are you sure that bringing together Achinarak, Vipor, and Tuturis is a good idea? What if they turn on you?" Mechanicore asked.

"Are you questioning my decision?!" Zing-Lau shouted, his right eye twitching from the rage of being questioned.

        "No, sir," Mechanicore answered.

"Good," Zing-Lau said. "Achinarak, could you get the other Sacred Gemstones?"

"Well, probably, considering how easy it was to get the Jadestone," Achinarak answered.

"Okay, get the Opalstone, Citrinestone, and the Rubystone," Zing-Lau commanded.

"Yes, sir!" Achinarak said, marching off to find the other Gemstones.

6:19 PM NST: Our NeoHome

"In other news, four robberies have occurred last night, performed by what witnesses describe as Doomsday_Rider, a NeoPet that has helped save this planet numerous times," the news reporter said. My family's eyes widened in surprise. They all knew it couldn't have been me. They had all been with me last night.

"Something doesn't add up here," Yugo said to himself. "Rider, you were here all last night, I know that. But if you were here, how could you have committed four robberies?" We found out a few seconds later.

"At the sites of all four robberies, reports of a strange, blue liquid, almost like water, were found near each stolen item's case," the reporter continued. "The stolen items, worth millions of Neopoints, were the four Sacred Gemstones. All other items of equal or greater value were left untouched." Right then I jumped up, grabbed my Million Degree Sword, and ran out the door. I knew exactly who had committed the robberies.

This isn't good," I told myself. "I beat Achinarak with Shoru's help last time Zing-Lau invaded. I can't pull it off alone. I've got to find Shoru."

There was a siren blazing behind me. I turned around and saw a whole squad of Chia Police. "Get down on your knees with your hands behind your head!" one shouted at me. I spun around and ran down the street.

"Freeze!" he shouted, but I kept running. He got in his car and started to chase me. I took a sharp left, and he followed with ease.

"I've got to get to a bridge or something. Maybe there I can lose this guy," I said to myself. I couldn't think of a bridge close enough for me to get to before I fell over from exhaustion. Then it hit me. Highway 17! It was not only a suspension bridge, but it was also a highway.

7:03PM NST: Highway 17

I raced off of the main street and onto Highway 17 with the Chia Police close behind me. I looked for something to jump onto as I ran, and I saw a billboard up the street a little way. I grabbed onto the pole, jumped on top of the billboard, jumped and glided as far as I could go. It got me a bit farther ahead of the Chia Police, but they were still hot on my trail. I swerved in and out of the traffic to try and lose the Chia Police, but they just would not give up. I jumped onto the suspension cable and tried to elude them that way. One of them pulled out a gun and tried to shoot me with it, just barely missing me on all fifteen shots. He tried to shoot some more, but he was out of ammunition. I kept running up the suspension cable, and at the end, I could see a figure, but I couldn't quite tell what. I kept going up, and the figure seemed to sink down. I got to the end and stood on the steel structure.

"What did I see here?" I asked myself. Achinarak hit me in the back of the head and I jumped forward, almost falling over the edge.

"The Chia Police are after you just like they're supposed to be," Achinarak vaunted.

        "What?" I asked.

"I'm the one who pulled off the four robberies last night, and I was in a Shoyru form so the Chia Police would get me confused with you and keep you out of the way," Achinarak explained.

"You're going to go down just like last time!" I shouted, unsheathing my Million Degree Sword. I pulled out a Burn-Out, and held it ready to throw should the need arise. I hit him with my sword, and he splattered all over. He gathered about where he was standing before.

"Ha! Did you really think I'd be beaten that easily?" He vaunted.

"Not really," I answered honestly. I threw the Burnout at him and started spinning my Million Degree Sword around as fast as I could. I got the damage percentage up to the point it did an unimaginable amount of damage. It did at least eight hundred HP worth of damage.

"No, impossible!" Achinarak shouted, turning into a puddle and creeping down the side of the structure. The sky became even darker than it already was, and strange lightning began to dance across the sky.

"Oh, man. Definitely not good," I said to myself.

"Attention, Doomsday_Rider! We have you surrounded. Come down peacefully and we will not shoot," a Chia Police officer said into a megaphone.

"Whoops, time to go," I said, jumping up and gliding the rest of the way out of the city.

***

"Through the Dark Dimension, reawaken, my beast! Reawaken, my monster! Reawaken, Vipor!" Zing-Lau shouted.

The air began to split into blackness and began to form a snake. The small wings on the sides of Vipor's head appeared. His pure white fangs appeared, his gold-coloured head appeared, and his black scales appeared.

"Aah, Vipor," Zing-Lau said, stroking Vipor on the head. "Soon, you will merge with Achinarak and Tuturis and become the ultimate Dead Beast. ShenDogg!"

        "Yes, sir?" ShenDogg cautiously ventured.

"Activate the Doomsday Warship, and blast Neopia into oblivion, but first, defeat the Lupe you were designed after," Zing-Lau commanded, keeping his attention focused on Vipor.

        "Yes, sir!" ShenDogg answered.

Anubis slowly regained consciousness inside his cage in the back at the Pound.

"I'm ambushed, put into unconsciousness by a taser and I wake up inside a cage back at the Pound," Anubis said. "Perfect. Hey, Psychodogg, what are you doing here?"

"Anubis, I didn't realise that those officers dropped you off here. I came in here to get a job," Psychodogg said.

        "Doing what?" Anubis asked.

"Feeding the abandoned pets, and if they're injured at all, I take them back to my NeoHome and help get them all healed up, and then I bring them back. I get paid pretty good, too. 40 NP an hour, four hours a day, about 1120 NP a week," Psychodogg explained.

"That's a lot," Anubis said, his eyes wide with surprise." That's a lot more than your old job, isn't it?"

"Yeah, I only got about 790 NP a week at my old job," Psychodogg answered, taking a bite out of his sandwich. "You want some?"

"Sure," Anubis answered. Psychodogg tore off some of his sandwich and handed it to Anubis through the bars of the cage.

"I could probably get you out of here," Psychodogg said.

        "How?" Anubis asked.

"By adopting you as my fifth pet. I know the rules say a human is only allowed four, but you'd probably still live in the San-katahn Forest, so I suppose technically you'd still be considered a wild Lupe," Psychodogg explained.

"Good point," Anubis said, devouring the piece of the sandwich Psychodogg had given him.

"Anubis, when was the last time you ate?" Psychodogg asked, watching Anubis devour the piece of the sandwich.

"I don't know. I haven't been finding much food in the forest lately," Anubis answered.

"Oh. So, you want to go with my way of getting you out of here?" Psychodogg asked.

"Uh-huh," Anubis said, nodding and swallowing the last bit of sandwich.

"All right, I'll go find out how much you cost," Psychodogg said, walking to the front to ask Dr_Death.
