The Great Escape

by mewz

There once was a Chia named Kent. There he sat in the pound, in a dark, damp cage with only dried prunes to eat. He watched as people came in, look about, picked up a pet or two, and walked out with a new pet. He was looked at only about once every other day. No one seemed interested in him though and he really didn't have his hopes up. Then one day, a blonde haired, blue eyed girl came in with a white Lupe. She looked though the cages, one by one, looking for another pet. Then she came to his cage, looked and picked Kent up.

"This could be it! I might actually get a home!" he thought.

Just then, the girl walked up to Dr_Death and stopped. She started to think whether or not this was a good choice. She looked down at her Lupe to see what he though, and he seemed to want Kent.

"I'll take him! My name is Angel and here are the 84 Neopoints!"

Dr_Death just sneered and looked at Kent with an evil eye. Kent looked as they walked to Faerieland, passing many houses along the way. They stopped at house with two stories made out of cloud. Inside there were about twenty different rooms, each full of expensive furniture. Kent's eyes popped out at the sight of the house.

"I'm going to live here! Wow!"

Angel just smiled a mysterious smile and said, "Yes and you have your own room. I'm Angel and this is Moon, your new brother. After dinner is bedtime. We have to wake up early for a trip. Eat up and have a nice sleep!"

Angel walked away after placing a hot cup of tea in front of him. It was the best he had ever had! Kent couldn't wait to see his room. He opened the door and saw a bed, toys, a couch, and so much more! He couldn't believe it! Kent jumped on the bed and fell asleep. Moon sat there in the corner, eyeing Kent and his every move. He was about to jump on the Chia when his owner stopped him. She gave Moon a smile and he smiled and walked away.

That morning Kent was woken up by Angel with a sweet smile and a cup of tea. Kent enjoyed his tea and was taken to the car. They drove a little while until they came upon an island. Kent wasn't sure what to think, it looked nice, but there was something about it he didn't like. Angel took out a card, swiped it, and said something. The car stated to move down, further and further. It was very dark and Kent couldn't see anything until the movement stopped. Kent looked out the window and saw a huge gun and a small seat. There was a scientist at the controls preparing for something. All of this was puzzling to Kent. Next thing he knew, he was sitting in the chair with the laser pointing at him.

"Don't be frighten, it'll be okay," Angel said with that mysterious smile.

Kent looked up and saw the laser charge up. Next thing he knew, the laser beam hit him. He felt weaker and weaker as he was hit. When it stopped and he was out of the seat, he looked at the screen which said he lost 2 strength points. Kent looked at his owner and figured it must be a one time only thing. Next thing he knew, he was there everyday. Kent never seemed to get stronger, only weaker. He also seemed to change a lot. He went from a yellow Chia, to a purple Grundo, to a green Lenny, back to a mutant Chia. Within another trip or two, Kent turned into a weak, plump, tomato Chia. His owner seemed to get meaner within each trip and Moon never seemed to like him. His huge, lush room soon became a mere cage in the deep, dark basement.

One night, as Kent fell asleep, Moon appeared from the corner. He made sure Kent was asleep, carefully eyeing him. All of a sudden, Moon jumped and took a bite out of poor Kent! Kent woke up in shock, seeing a huge bite in him. He ran to the garage where he found a go kart. He rushed himself to the hospital, since Angel was asleep and Kent knew better than to wake her. He was treated for it was only a minor injury. The nurse told him the tomato Chias could reproduce lost parts, since they were food. Kent was happen until Angel walked in with an unpleasant look in her eye.

"What were you doing with that kart?"

"I... I... uh... I..."

"You what? Did I say you could go?" Angel was getting furious.

"Well Ms., this poor Chia was bitten by another Neopet." The nurse said.

"Well, he could have waited! It isn't that bad!" She eyed the nurse as she spoke.

"Miss! It could have gotten worse if I hadn't looked at it! Your poor Chia could have been in a really bad condition!" The nurse was surprised at the owner for not caring.

"I don't think it is any of your business! Come on Kent!"

"Please! No! Don't let me go with them! Help me!" Kent said to the nurse as he was dragged out.

"I... I can't help you. She is your owner and I can't do anything about that..." She saw Kent trying to keep Angel from taking him.

Kent sat there in the car as Angel gave him a lecture. Then she asked what had happened and why he disobeyed her. Kent told her how he was asleep when he was attacked. Angel was about to ask Kent who attacked him when she looked at Moon. Moon looked at her and licked his lips and she knew. She didn't punish him which made Kent mad.

Angel took Moon and Kent home to sleep. Instead of putting Moon into another room, she just put Kent into a cage which was voice activated. Kent go a bowl of flies while Moon got a fish negg as a midnight snack. Kent sat there, crying, thinking about how he was so happy at first, and now this. He cried himself to sleep, soon to be woken up by Angel. He knew what was going to happen. He was going for another trip to the lab ray, his least favourite place. He was put on a leash so he wouldn't get away. Moon sat there watching him, licking his lips which made Kent very uncomfortable.

Down and down the went towards the middle of the island, underground. There sat the huge lab ray gun. In front of the gun was the chair. This was nothing new to Kent, just his daily routine. Kent sat there as he was hit by the laser. When the laser stopped and Kent undid the belt, he found the he became a faerie Chia! Kent couldn't believe it! Kent wasn't thinking and started to fly. There he was, above Angel and Moon.

"Come down here this instant!"

Kent knew he was in trouble. Kent almost came when he saw an opening. Kent didn't have to think twice. He flew out the window and away from it all. Kent went to Faerieland, far away from his old house. There, the faeries helped him recover from his tragic happenings.

One night, as Kent slept on a cloud, he heard a noise. He instantly woke up, thinking it might be Angel and Moon, but instead it was a boy. The Chia looked at him and the boy looked back. It wasn't the look Angel gave him, but a more pleasant one. The boy introduced himself. His name was Jeff and he was looking for Faerieland. The Chia gladly showed him the way to the centre. Jeff smiled and started towards the city when he saw the Chia leaving.

"Where are you going?"

"Oh, somewhere. Probably to the cloud again."

"Don't you have a home? Or an owner?"

"No, I ran away from my owner, she was mean."

"Well, I have a home, but no pets, would you like to be my pet?"

Kent jumped into the boy's hands, overflowing with glee. Kent was taken to a nice small house the Jeff bought in Faerieland. Kent lived a happy life and was spoiled by his owner. He had his own room with a nice small bed. It wasn't a big room, but it was good enough for Kent. He was feed well and groomed everyday. He lived happily and never saw Angel or Moon again.
