As Garth Von Lupe and his crew looked out upon the seas, they saw the vessels
of the Flaming Shoyru Pirates, and they gasped.
"The Shoyru Pirates! What are they doing here? They must have followed the
Black Krawks!" said Garth. "We can't take on their entire fleet! We'll surely
lose! But they have the seas around here surrounded, so we can't just sail around
them."
"We need to get out of here, one way or another," said Sephiroth_Slayer. "Maybe
if we rented a Mystery Island canoe? They might not see us!"
"Excellent idea!" said the Lupe. "Let's go rent a canoe!" the Lupe, Nimmo,
and Shoyru all climbed onto shore, quickly bargained with the Tiki Tack Tombola
man for a canoe, and set off, under a jungle canopy.
The three took turns paddling and shared food until they saw land. It was
a long journey, but finally they reached dry ground. However, it was not what
they expected to see. Yes, it was the Lost Desert. They were in an un-populated
region, where wild and unfriendly Neopets roamed the sands.
They stepped out of the canoe and looked around. They decided to walk north
until they found Sakhmet. They walked quickly, fearing that wild Neopets might
attack them. Eventually, they saw a huge stone gate and saw many Neopets wandering
to and fro. They knew then that they had reached the desert city Sakhmet.
The three pirates rushed quickly into the Desert Fruit Stall, and bought several
tasty desert fruit, as well as some fresh toast. After eating, they walked to
the desert palace, where they were greeted by El Kacheeko, a pudgy Kacheek.
"Greetings, good fellows!" the Kacheek said. "Pirates, I assume? What are
you doing in this fine desert town? Shipwrecked, perhaps?"
"Not that bad, matey," said Garth. "We were confronted by the Flaming Shoyru
Pirates, and had to paddle away from Mystery Island. We're hoping to be able
to get back to Krawk Island. We can assemble our fleet of ships and be ready
so we can defend ourselves. But that Chia may be our only hope. Wait a minute..."
Garth gasped. 'THE CHIA!!!"
Shoyru of the Red Mist
The Chia was frolicking in the ferns of the jungle, happily playing, without
a care in the world. He did not yet realise that he was to be the only one who
could save Garth Von Lupe and his band of pirates. His name, as given to him
by the man with the moustache (who was known as Marco), was Edwin. Edwin happily
played, not knowing that Garth was panicking in light of his absence, and not
knowing that the head ship of the Flaming Shoyru Pirates, the Burning Blaze,
was approaching the Mystery Island harbour.
"We're looking for a Pirate Lupe named Garth Von Lupe," said the Fire
Shoyru. His eyes burned with an unnatural flame. "Don't play any games, Tiki
Tack Tombola man. I want answers." The Shoyru was known as the Shoyru of the
Red Mist, Tyrius Von Inferno formally. He was the leader of the Flaming Shoyru
Pirates and the captain of the Burning Blaze. "Have you seen the Lupe?" Tyrius
rested his hand on the hilt of his flaming Shoyru Sword, which was sheathed
in his ruby sheath.
The Tombola man shook his head. "Nope."
"You'd better be telling the truth," Tyrius said coldly. He motioned for the
Shadow Shoyrus accompanying him to exit, and Tyrius followed suit. As they were
about to return to the Burning Blaze, Tyrius saw something out of the corner
of his eye: it was Edwin, playing in the foliage. Tyrius flew over, then landed
and snatched the Chia and set him in front of him.
"Pirate Chia, huh... you don't look like a natural-born pirate... but forget
that, is there anything you would like to tell me? About a Lupe named Garth,
perhaps?" The Shoyru crossed his arms.
The Chia shook his head. "No sir, I haven't."
"Very well. Tell me if you do." With that, Tyrius turned and walked away,
toward the Burning Blaze.
Edwin knew that something must be done. Thinking quickly, he rented a canoe
and paddled toward Krawk Island.
