A Boring Day
Kalinna1721, called Kali by her friends, was resting peacefully by the window
of her NeoHome. She was a Split Acara, and half of her body was orange, and
the other half was purple. Kali gazed wistfully out of the window and began
to daydream. Her pet, Derrick the red Anubis, was sleeping peacefully on the
red beanbag chair on the other side of the room.
After a few minutes of enjoying the scenery, she took up a book her owner,
Kenneth, had bought for her. It was entitled Talk Tuska, but she flipped
to the first page, and finding it relatively boring, she put it down. Walking
over to the bookshelf, she selected one particularly colourful book that was
called The Grarrl That Crushed Tyrannia.
The Pteris and Chombys and all the other Neopets were running as fast as they
could, trying to escape from the giant red Grarrl that had entered their peaceful
land. No one knew where it had come from. The Grarrl would stop every few seconds,
bend down, and breathe fire on their little houses in the treetops and caves.
Smoke billowing in giant clouds over the land. A certain Tyrannian Kacheek named
BoBo coughed and sneezed, and fainted.
With his large, sharp teeth, and equally sharp claws, the monster raged around
Tyrannia for around five days. He ate most of the giant omelette, smashed the
town hall and kicked the ticket booth. There seemed to be no end to the disaster
he was causing. On the second day, he jumped up and down on the largest stage
in the largest concert hall in the whole of Neopia, which was right beside the
rubble of what used to be the most popular ticket booth.
BoBo the Tyrannian Kacheek had not eaten for three days already and was famished
and starved. He could barely move, but he could hear the noise the Grarrl was
making, and knew that Tyrannia was probably ruined. Slowly, he crept out of
his cave, leaving his PetPet Donksaur behind, and he headed for the omelette,
which was very small. Scooping some up in his paws, he crawled back to his cave
on his knees, successfully unnoticed. He ate some of the omelette and fed the
rest to Donkee his Donksaur.
On the fifth day, nothing was left in Tyrannia except a few small village huts,
and the other Grarrl who lived in the Keno. All the other pets, except BoBo,
had fled to other parts of Neopia, mainly to Terror Mountain and Faerieland,
the two places closest to Tyrannia.
BoBo had managed to keep himself and Donkee alive by nibbling off small bits
of the omelette each day. One unfortunate day, he crawled back into the wrong
cave - the cave that was not his. He accidentally crawled into the cave of the
It was called the Lair of the Beast, and it was the only other thing still
left in Tyrannia that had not been crushed by the Grarrl - yet. BoBo crept in,
awaking the Beast, who gave tremendous roar rocking the sides of the cave. BoBo
gave a loud yelp and scuttled out of the cave as fast as he could on all four
paws. The Beast flew out from behind him, but BoBo miraculously managed to RUN
and he hid himself, and Donkee, in the deepest part of his home.
The Beast, seeing the giant Grarrl, (which was taking a nap near a broken Wheel
of Mediocrity) thought that it had woken him from his nap. He flew straight
at it and pecked it sharply on the tail, and then on the neck. The Grarrl gave
an ear-piercing cry before slumping weakly to the ground in defeat. The citizens
of Tyrannia were able to move back to their homeland. A giant Pteri hauled the
Grarrl into a cave which was sealed, and marked with a big red dot. Another
egg appeared in the Plateau, and the next morning another giant omelette was
there. Plesio set up a new Wheel, with even better prizes. The ticket booth
was repaired, as well as the concert hall, and the Tyrannian folk agreed that
they had needed new homes anyway. BoBo was named hero of the town, but later
he changed his name to Badeek and joined the Town Hall council.
Kenneth came in, seeing Kali reading a book comfortably seated in the Kauvara
Armchair. Derrick gave a little sigh and flopped over and fell asleep again.
"Dear me, you seem to have a really boring day," Kenneth said, putting down
a can of neocola on the coffee table.
Kali put down her book in amazement. "Boring? How could you say that? Today
has been anything BUT boring!" she replied, and the book vanished in a puff
of purple smoke. "By the way, Kenneth, could we go to Tyrannia later today?
I want to hunt around for a particular cave... one with a red dot on top."
