There are often stories in The Neopian Times about one day in a families life.
They win a codestone, find a faerie, rack up fifteen thousand Neopoints, etc.
Basically an average, happy day. Well, you haven't met my family yet, have you?
Cherriepoof, Powerpak, Chitiquita and Kalakalakatty are my pets. Different in
many ways. Here's one story of a fairly normal day in my house, it just happened
not two weeks ago.
It was eight in the morning, a beautiful Saturday morning for that. I squinted
my eyes to look out my window, but then the day had to start... and on such
a nice day.
"Cherrie! Kalak stole my Attack Fork again!" There were my pets. I tiredly
walked out to the hall where flying things--from apples to books--were zooming
across the hall every which way. I gave the two pets a dark glare and they stopped
suddenly and ran to the kitchen.
After Kalakalakatty and Cherriepoof had settled I went to wake up my other
pets, Powerpak and Chitiquita. First I went to Chitiquita's room, for he was
much easier to wake.
I entered the warm room (he kept it more humid to make it more like his Tyrannian
home) and had to make sure not to step on anything, as he liked to keep it as
homy as possible. I poked the rainbow Chomby.
"Oh Chiti!" With just two words Chitiquita was up and parading through mushy
dung, his preferred flooring. "Chitiquita! Don't you leave this room until your
feet are clean!" Chitiquita frowned and I quickly scurried out of the room.
Then there was Powerpak. Yes, my most flaming pet. I quietly tiptoed into
her room, where pictures and notes were laid out everywhere. I lightly tapped
on her shoulder when - "Cherrie! Kalak is biting my tail!" There they go again!
"STOP IT!" The house quickly silenced, and Powerpak slightly opened her eyes.
"Is it morning yet?" she blankly asked, and sighed and went to make breakfast.
Lets see-an apple and orange juice for Cherriepoof, tomato omelette and Diet
Neocola for Chitiquita, a negg for Powerpak, and a Can of Olives for Kalak.
I called for the four and they came, like rabid Lupes to the kitchen table.
"No fair-why does Powerpak get a negg and I only get olives?" Kalak whined,
and I just pretended to not hear her. Don't get me wrong, I love my pets, but
sometimes you just want to leave them outside...
After the four were done, I each gave them and their petpets the week's allowance:
500 NP. Cherriepoof smiled and with her cloud Miamouse she trotted out the door,
on her way to the book shop.
With her green Greeble at her side Powerpak raced out to buy get well presents
for her sick friends (she's very popular you know). Chitiquita nodded, and with
that Chitiquita and his Cheezoom left for playing Grarrl Keno (a bad habit of
his.)
Then there's Kalakalakatty. She's a big complainer, which is probably why
none of my other pets like her. As soon as she got her allowance, her first
words were:
"Why don't we get more money!?!"
I rolled my eyes and kicked her and her Wadjet out the door. I watched them
get on a ship going to Faerieland. Finally, my favourite part of the day-my
time. I laid peacefully on the couch in the living room, where numerous books,
toys, and battle items were scattered. I can't stand filth, so I heavily sighed
and cleaned up the entire room, then took a long, peaceful nap.
A few hours later I abruptly woke up to the sound of clanking pans in the
kitchen. It was too early for the pets to return. Was it an intruder? I dug
around in Cherriepoof's battle box and grabbed a small Sparkshooter. I quietly
snuck around the house until I turned to see, in the kitchen... Kalakalakatty.
It seems that she wanted revenge on her siblings, so she planned a trap for
them. I glared furiously at her (glares are my best weapon) and she raced out
of the house as fast as a Pteri. I hastily cleaned up the mess, and looked at
the time. Four o'clock! It was time to cook dinner.
Tonight Powerpak was having a sleepover--six giggling, screaming, terrorising
pets roaming about Mystery Island. I quickly went to inform the police of the
sleep-over and they thanked me for telling them.
I had nine omelettes prepared, with nine glasses of Neocola spread out on
the dining table. I looked at my work in triumph, and then the doorbell rang.
Oh yay, let the fun begin.
Two Usuls, three Shoyrus and an Acara marched in the house, gossiping, giggling,
and pointing to the omelettes on the table. Quickly they were eating and already
making plans for the night, when Powerpak's left-out siblings arrived. Their
omelettes were half eaten. I gave them all pieces of pizza instead.
After seeing the police more than once that night I decided to never host
another sleep-over. Ever. Cherriepoof asked me the next morning: "If we have
to do this again, can you disown me?" Cherriepoof and Kalak were even too tired
to fight! I then decided Powerpak was grounded for a month.
That was just a normal day. The best part was when I finally got to lay down
on the soft fresh bamboo bed, watching the stars through my window. I'll say
it again; don't get me wrong, I love my pets, but sometimes you just want to
leave them outside...
