Ideal Garden Statues by ticketytock2kay | |
Just recently, I noticed one of my Neofriends had a Stone Wocky. What’s
the deal? I thought. Stone pets look... how should I say it? Lifeless. Stone
Lupes have their eyes closed; don’t you think they may have trouble seeing?
I thought I may do some research on stone pets. Here, I will give you the hard,
stone cold facts:
What pets can become stone pets?
Acaras, Flotsams, Grarrls, JubJubs, Korbats, Lupes, Unis, and Wockies can
become stone pets. That’s not a lot, considering that they are 44 species of
Neopets. So, eight out of forty-four pets can become stone. That’s not so bad,
is it? Well, I’m not sure.
What are the disadvantages of having a stone pet?
Hmm, from my one week of poking stone pets, climbing on their backs and hitting
them with a hammer (no Neopets were harmed in the writing of this article),
I’ve discovered that Stone Pets are more liable to be defeated in the Battledome,
as they crack easily. Second, they have trouble getting places. (They can’t
move!) Third, they are usually hungry, because they can’t open their mouths
to eat! Fourth, they look, well... lifeless! I can imagine my pet Kacheek poking
my Neofriend’s Wocky in the chest, trying to get her to play. (She would probably
break her paw, considering the Wocky’s chest is made out of stone).
Okay, okay.. are there any advantages of having a stone pet?
Of course! I just listed the "cons". Now for the "pros". Stone Pets look fabulous
in the garden! Save your hard earned Neopoints from buying those new stone statues!
All you have to do is find a good area in your NeoGarden and station your Stone
Lupe to stand there. Mind you, Pteri’s often land on stone statues and leave
behind packages that you’ll have to clean off later. You can also put your stone
Acara in a place within the garden where sunlight falls directly on its head!
Then, place a bowl of water on your Acara’s head, and taa-daa! You have an ideal
bird-bath!
Look at these pictures of these two stone pets. They look relatively happy,
don’t they? But there are cracks on the Flotsam’s head, fin, and body, and on
the chest of the Stone Uni! I guess I can say these pets are "scarred for life".
Geddit? Plus, these cracks will most likely largen every time they fight in
the Battledome. (Research shows that 78% of Stone Pets crack up after laughing
for a short period of time).
Conclusion: Stone Pets make good garden statues, but crack easily in the Battledome.
They are also hard to play with and feed. It is not advisable to train a stone
pet to become a great fighter.
So, which do you prefer? Rather lifeless garden statues, or a furry, easy-to-play-and-feed
pet? You decide. |
