The Best Birthday

by puppydog78542

I only came to Neopia a few days ago, right before my birthday. I did tell my Gelert Kinamulo this, and he got a wonderful idea. He told me this story the next day, about how hard he tried to make this the best birthday.

Well, Kinamulo woke up early for this special occasion. He woke up at about 5 am Neopian time, and snuck out of the house, but not before writing a note that said that he was out for a morning run, like he does every morning but a little later, about 6:30 usually.

Kinamulo ran down the street into the main shopping square. There were only a few people around, and Kinamulo was alone and a little lost. This was the farthest away he had ever been away from home without me before, and he was getting scared.

"Hey!" a voice called from his left.

Kinamulo whirled around to see a teenage boy with a tomato Chia walking towards him.

"Come, now. You can't be without an owner. I'll take ya in," the boy said, patting Kinamulo's head.

"No! I have an owner! Her name is puppydog78542!" cried Kinamulo.

The boy had looked skeptic. "Then where is she?" he said in a taunting way.

"She's still asleep! It's her birthday, and I'm buying a present for her before she wakes up," said Kinamulo, very scared now that he was going to be taken to the pound and wishing he'd never left the safety of the house.

"Oh," the boy said, and then snapped a collar around his neck. "This'll keep anyone from taking you to the pound," said the boy, and he walked away with his Chia.

Kinamulo checked his watch. It was 5:13. He ran into the food store right as they restocked. He grabbed some flapjacks, streaky bacon, and orange juice before the Chia had even put them on the shelf, throwing 250 NPs at her. "Thanks," he called, and ran back to our house. He put them in our inventory room under a blanket and snuck back out the door, then ran back to the Square. He ran into the "Worlds" building and booked a flight to Faerieland. When he arrived, he went straight to the Employment Agency and booked an easy job.

The speaker said, "Please bring seven peaches within 14 minutes to this booth." Kinamulo was off.

He ran to the Shop Wizard and told him to find peaches within 150 NPs. He found a store with 13 peaches for 10 NPs each. "Thanks!" said Kinamulo over his shoulder as he ran to their store.

He bought the peaches and went straight back to the Employment Agency. "You have 4 minutes left," said the little booth speaker. Kinamulo dumped the peaches into the collecting tin and a little piece of paper was spat out like a receipt. What's this? He wondered and read the little piece of paper. "This is a Faerie check worth 18,000 NPs," said the little piece of paper. "WOHOO!!" yelled Kinamulo as he ran to deposit it, keeping 5000 NPs for the night.

He ran home to where I was just about to wake up. He took out the food and set it on a little rolling cart with a clean white blanket over it.

He rolled it in and set it next to me, then proceeded to lick my face. "Hmm..." I said, rolling over and opening my eyes to see my beautiful blue Gelert standing next to a cart piled high with food.

"You woke me up just so I can see your breakfast?" I said yawning.

"No LeeLee, it's for you!" Kinamulo said, laughing.

"Oh honey, you didn't have to do that!" I said and scratched behind his right ear. His left hind leg started twitching.

I proceeded to break my fast while making a lot of yummy noises. When I had finished, he ate his usual breakfast croissant and washed the dishes.

"What is this all for?" I asked.

"It's your birthday, LeeLee!" he shouted, then danced around me singing "It's your birthday, it's your birthday" and then singing the birthday song to me. I laughed.

"Well now, instead of you taking me to see cool stuff, I'm going to take you on a cool day!!!" He shouted.

Kinamulo took me to the "Worlds" building and got us an all day pass to see all the different worlds.

First we went to Mystery Island, where Kinamulo insisted that I go on the Tiki Tour. I had a blast on that, and when I got off we played Tombola. We won 300 more NPs and got a lava lamp and a coconut god souvenir.

Kinamulo went into the hut and bought something that I couldn't see.

"Okay, let's get a move on," he announced.

Next we went to Faerieland, where we did everything. First, we went to see if we could get me blessed at the Healing Springs, but the Faerie just rolled her eyes and handed us a healing potion. Next, we went to the Wheel of Excitement and spun the wheel. We won 300 NPs, and the Light Faerie wished me a happy birthday.

Then we went to (dun dun donnnn) Jhudora's Cloud. We got her a sack plant and won a poisonous lollipop.

"Whew," sighed Kinamulo as we walked out of there. "That was close!"

The next world we came to was Tyrannia. We first went to the food shop and bought some food, since we had gotten hungry. Kinamulo bought me a neosaurus tail and he got a ranasaurus steak. Kinamulo went into the booth next door, then came out without telling me what he had done. We went to the Giant Omelette and chatted with Sabre-X while eating our omelette and the other things. I had had to contain my surprise at the fact that Sabre-X knew Neopian. I thought they all only knew Tyrannian. At the end of our Tyrannian tour, Kinamulo took me to the Concert Hall, where we saw Chomby and the Fungus Balls! They are really cool in my opinion, and they're my favorite Neopian group. We got posters as souvenirs.

Next was Happy Valley. We went to the Garage Sale and talked for a while with Mika and Carassa. We bought a strawberry snowpuff and were off to see the snowager. When we got to his cave, he was sleeping. Kinamulo carefully walked over and picked up a cool little gadget, which I later figured out was Gelert Tail Armor. Then we took a tour of the spooky old Ski Lodge. We bought tickets to see the mystery plot about how everyone was killed in the Ski Lodge. I loved it! It is an all time scary movie. We bought slushies and proceeded to slurp them on our way to Krawk Island.

Krawk Island is really cool, you have to see it. We had 20 dubloons to spend. Seeing as it was the end of the trip, we went to dinner at the Golden Dubloon. I had a stuffed guppy and a tropical something or other. All I know is that is was 4 dubloons. Kinamulo had the same thing. We were stuffed to the brim and I couldn't imagine having anymore food.

When we got home we were exhausted, but Kinamulo insisted that we open my presents. They were in different bags, showing which world they were from. First was the Mystery Isle bag; in there was a coconut god souvenir, a cherry wish stick, a neopets beachball, an acorn toy, a plush cub, a super toy sailboat, a claw necklace, and bottles of red, blue, green, and black sand.

My next bag was filled with all kinds of little trinkets, it was a Faerieland bag. It had a complete series of the All about Faeries set, a green job envelope, a faerie crossword book, a poster of all the different faerie pets, and a picture of a Gelert colored by the coloring game.

I didn't have a Tyrannia bag since my Tyrannian gift was the concert, but I did have a Krawk Island bag. It was all stuff from the Smuggler's Cove, I have yet to figure out how he got that.

All in all, I had a great birthday and I hope your pets are as great as mine!
