Every once in a while Neopia has a new fad. Whether it's Codestones, Neggs,
pieces of treasure map or rarity 90-100 foods. I mean, first, book were just
worth the paper they were printed on, not fetching more than 20 NP or so. Now,
they're almost 25(!) times that much.
And people who weren't expecting things like that, can lose hundreds, even
thousands of NP They just don't know when to stock up or sell. That's why your
friendly reporter Insaniac_the_great has made this guide for catching the next
big thing, whether it's just for a short while or here to stay.
1. Spotting what could be hot
Imagine, you just bought a new wardrobe for one of the Fire Faerie's quests.
Going to the world page to give her your item, you notice something under the
title coming soon to Neopia. There, you see something called Plushie Tycoon.
This is the real example we'll take to gain info on the fads and hypes world.
2. Knowing what to do with the info
Now, there are 2 things you can do: do nothing and what 'till the plushies
are flying off the shelves, or stock up in the hope that they'll be very valuable.
Of course, we choose the second.
3. How to operate
What should we do now? Wait until we get some plushies from the toy shop or
launch an all-out mission to search for plushies using the shop wizard, the
trading post and every game where you can earn plushies? Again, we choose the
second.
You should begin with very common plushies, like Red Kyrii Plushie or Blue
Nimmo Plushie. Using the shop wizard, you find the cheapest shop and raid them
empty. Then, go to the Trading Post. Again, search for Plushies. Just bid, bid,
bid. You can also use auctions, who knows, maybe you'll find something good...
4. In the meantime
Of course, you can't spend days in a row searching and buying plushies. Your
funds will run out within hours. So play a lot of games, preferably that can
give you plushies, like Meerca Chase or Chomby and the Fungus Balls. And games
that give very quick cash, like Pyramids or Cheat!.
5. Things to look out for
One thing never to do is putting your toys in your shop until they're valuable.
They'll get bought. Put them in your Safety Deposit Box.
Go for common Plushies. It's nice to have Snowager, Bacheek, Valentine's or
NeoQuest plushies, but you could have 50 or more other plushies instead.
Don't spend too much at once. Maybe it won't be such a money maker after all.
Then, just sell as normal, and just try to make a nifty profit.
Just have fun. If you don't want to have the next big thing, fine, as long
as you realise you could have been a big shot in the next-big thing world.... |
