Now You See Me... by vulpick | |
Greetings to all fellow Neopians! My name is Mirroreye,
I'm a Zafara, and I'm the youngest in the family. But that doesn't get me down,
because I have a definite advantage over my brothers: nobody can see me!
It's recently occurred to me that Neopians tend to shun invisible pets. In
my lifetime, I have yet to see another invisible NeoPet. Well, I didn't mean
I didn't see them, because of course you can't see invisible NeoPets. What I
meant was, I've never met an invisible NeoPet, besides myself that is. Why
don't people like invisible pets?
Okay, I'll admit. Taking care of an invisible pet is not the easiest thing
in the world. There are oftentimes where I would sneak up behind my owner Vulpick
and scare the living daylights out of her. And I could always get a laugh playing
with my two brothers, since they can't see me when I yank their tails. I sure
wish I could fly, though. It'd make it a lot easier to sneak around.
The main reason Vulpick painted me invisible was because of a change in the
way the Zafara looked when it was purple. When I was first created, I was red.
Then Vulpick painted me purple. When the NeoPets staff did a makeover of the
purple Zafara, Vulpick wasn't too pleased. We went to the Rainbow Pool to pick
out a new colour, and the only one she liked was invisible. So she bought an
invisible paint brush and now she can't see me anymore. It took a while getting
used to not seeing my nose in front of my face and stepping on my tail every
now and then, but soon, I loved the life of the invisible. (By the way, if you
want to see the original purple Zafara, just look up the species Zafara.)
The big issue of why people don't like invisible pets is... they can't see
them! When you look at all the cute Kacheeks, Poogles and Unis, you can't possibly
imagine making their darling faces disappear. But that can't possibly be it,
right? There are some people out there who change their pets into mutants on
purpose! If they are so uncaring about appearance that they're willing to completely
deform their pets, why won't they accept pets with no appearance at all?
There are many advantages to being invisible. For one thing, I'm immune to
Neomites. The second those buggers get on me, I can see exactly where they are.
I can wash them off easily and I know when all of them are gone. Another advantage
is in the Battledome. Sure, other NeoPets use Invisihats to make themselves
disappear, but I can just prance around and be worry free about anybody seeing
me as I attack them from behind. My opponents wouldn't know where to aim their
weapons at, and they wouldn't know where my own attack would be coming from.
This is all just theoretical, since Vulpick doesn't let me fight.
One last point I want to say: I am concerned that the NeoPets Staff would
even consider outlining the invisible NeoPet! What's the point of having an
invisible pet if you can see it?! What's the point of being invisible if others
can see you? All I know is, the second the NeoPets Staff makes the invisible
NeoPet visible, not only will I change colours, but I will send e-mail after
e-mail complaining! Of course, Vulpick might not let me do that, heh heh heh.
After reading this article, I hope you'll realise the true, unseen beauty
of invisible NeoPets. And I hope you'll join my crusade to prevent the outlining
of invisible pets everywhere! This is Mirroreye, signing off. I'm winking at
you, but you probably can't see that, hee hee hee! Good night everybody! (or
morning, or afternoon, or whenever you're reading this!) |
