Consumer

The Smuggler's Cove, located in the Northern coast of Krawk Island, is one of the biggest tourist attraction in Neopia. This "secret" marketplace is the location where pirates sell the treasures that they find in their journeys. They sell a variety of Battledome items, some bad and some good, ranging from 3 Dubloons to as high as 500. However, in order to keep the cove a little bit more secret, a restriction is placed in the amount of times you can go and visit. This consumer report will hopefully enlighten and help you pick up bargains in Smuggler's Cove. "Caveat Emptor!" Buyer beware!

Mystical Teapot of Doom
Type of Item: Attack
Price in Dubloons: 30
Estimated Price in Trades: 2,100,000 NP
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

The Mystical Teapot of Doom is the premiere Smuggler's Cove item. It is one of the first items ever introduced to the public. This attack weapon is highly sought after, and is worth the price! This item can deal 7-9 icons of damage, 3 water icons, 3 fire, and 1-3 physical damage. However, the price for this item is rising fast, and like many of the Smuggler Cove Items, this sweet teapot is limited in quantity.

Banana Sword
Type of Item: Attack
Price in Dubloons: 75
Estimated Price in Trades: 2,000,000 NP
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

The Banana Sword is worth every penny spent. It can deal 6-10 icons, 5 light and 1-5 physical icons; both quite unexpected in the Battledome. Like the Mystical Teapot, the trade price of the Banana Sword is rapidly rising; 200,000 NP in the last 2 months. I recommend getting them while they are still relatively obtainable.

Umbrella Shield
Type of Item: Defence
Price in Dubloons: 3
Estimated Price in Trades: 1,200,000 NP
Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

This item was considered to be one of the best defence items out there, but it was recently downgraded. The Umbrella Shield can defend against 2-5 earth icons, 3 air icons, and all water damage. However, not many weapons are water based, so basically you are paying for the earth and air protection. My verdict in this item is save your dollars and skip it!

Battle Plunger
Type of Item: Attack/Defence
Price in Dubloons: 15
Estimated Price in Trades: 4,500,000 NP
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

When the Battle Plunger first hit the market, the buzz was high, and it was highly sought after. However, the price of this item has settled, but it is still a keeper. The Battle Plunger is quite powerful, Capable of dealing out 3-14 icons of damage. It can attack 3-7 water icons and is capable of adding up to 7 physical icons. It also defends against all water based attacks, and can drain up to 25 Hit Points from opponents. This item is highly sought after with Chiazilla and Snowager bounty hunters!

Sponge Shield
Type of Item: Defence
Price in Dubloons: 5
Estimated Price in Trades: 500,000 NP
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

The Sponge Shield is a commendable Battledome defence item. It can protect you from all water based icons, and is capable of defending up to 8 physical icons. For its price, its quite good. Anyway, if you don't want to battle with it, you can always use it to clean your NeoHome bathroom!

Ancient Hour Glass
Type of Item: Attack/Freeze
Price in Dubloons: 500
Estimated Price in Trades: 3,000,000 NP
Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

The Ancient Hour Glass is one of the most expensive cove items Dubloon-wise, but it is not worth it. The ancient hour glass can deal 5 earth icons, which are easily blocked in the Battledome, and has a very slim chance of freezing, in which it will disappear for the battle. If you like it, buy it. It does make a good centrepiece!

Mystical Fish Lobber
Type of Item: Attack
Price in Dubloons: 160
Estimated Price in Trades: 8,000,000 NP
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

The Mystical Fish Lobber was the Tickle Me Whatever-mo of the Smuggler's Cove, it was that popular when it came out. It was described as the next "Balthazar's Claw". In my opinion, this item is good, not great. It can do 5 earth, 5 air, and 1-3 physical icons. However, with the greater staff of the Earth Faerie, you can cut the number of damage in half. So buy this attack weapon at your own discretion!

That's it for now! I hope it was highly informative, and as a consumer, I hoped it helped to alleviate your consumer needs and worries. I'll be back with the second part containing the rest of Smuggler's Cove next month. But until then, enjoy shopping!
