Previously on Doomsday Rider IV, Kaltex, Reo, and Enoma kidnapped Koujii
and Geicjo, and Kaltex is trying to conquer Anubis' mind. If Kaltex succeeds,
then it would spell disaster for the entire universe...
"Let's see now. What would be the best way to get a hold of Anubis' mind?
Perhaps I could kidnap that Lupess that's with him," Kaltex said, pacing
back and forth. "Or perhaps I could just try and take it head-on. I think I'll
try it head-on again," Kaltex said as he began chanting. "Ey vu ko er ka
vek de amunara."
At the rebel base...
"Arrgh! Get out of my head!" Anubis shouted, clenching his head again. His
eyes began flickering red and blue just like they did before, and the symbol
was flickering on Anubis' forehead again. The only difference was that the red
glow in Anubis' eyes were lasting longer than they did before. The symbol flickering
on Anubis' forehead seemed to be getting darker and darker the longer the glow
stayed in Anubis' eyes. He was wrapped in black electricity, and when it died
down, there was Anubis, with red eyes and the symbol was on his forehead, it
wasn't flickering or anything.
"What just happened Anubis?" Midnight asked.
"Nothing for you to worry about," Anubis answered. He jumped back down to the
first floor, and we heard the door slam. Apparently, Anubis just left. A window
of light with Casi's image popped up.
"I'm afraid something has happened to Anubis," she told us.
"Why's that?" Boomdogg asked.
"Because when he left, his eyes were red and Kaltex's emblem was on his forehead,"
Casi answered.
"Anubis' mind has been taken over by Emperor Kaltex. There are only two ways
to break the spell. The first would be defeat Anubis by catching him in an enormous
explosion, and the second would be to destroy Kaltex," Ako told us.
"I thought Kaltex's dark magic was too weak to do that anymore," Casi said.
"No, he had just enough dark magic left to grab Anubis' mind. At least now
he can't do it to anybody else," Ako answered.
"But I seriously thought he used up all of his dark magic creating his army.
I know that Enoma, Reo, and Draegon were basic minions, but I would have thought
using all that magic would have used up every last ounce of Kaltex's dark magic,"
Casi said. "I suppose his dark magic could heave recharged over the 2 years
Anubis was gone." A smile started to creep across her face. "I suppose when
we finally destroy Kaltex somebody can put me back in a regular body. I mean
being a computer is fun and all, but I miss my old body. I suppose I owe Anubis
a lot, too. After all, he did save me from Draegon."
"Casi, you know as well as I do that I helped Anubis," Ako said.
"What's your point?" Casi asked, smiling. Ako started a sentence, but stopped.
"Ako, you haven't fought Kaltex since the Dawn of the Scorpion."
"What exactly was the Dawn of the Scorpion?" I asked, breaking into Ako and
Casi's conversation.
"The Dawn of the Scorpion was the morning when the first NeoPet was born on
Neopia," Ako answered.
"Which happened to be me," a yellow Lupe said, walking out of the shadows.
I didn't get a good look at him, but I noticed he had a scar over his right
eye. "I am Amun-Ra, Anubis III's brother, and also the oldest NeoPet. My younger
brother was born on Neopia, too, but his blood is pure Vela-Sei, just like mine,
Geicjo's, Koujii's, and Ako's. I'm not sure about Casi," he said, glancing
at her with a faint smile on his face.
"When I get out of here, remind me to hit you on the head with something,"
Casi said, still smiling.
"Correction, if you get out of there," Amun-Ra said, grinning slightly. Casi
only smiled back, and then, turned around to face us.
"Listen, you all will have to go and fight Kaltex. None of us except Amun-Ra
knows what Kaltex is currently capable of. He will be on your team. Ako, you
may have to go with them. I will help you as much as I can, but should you happen
to encounter part of Kaltex's army, I won't be able to help you. I can only
help you when you're moving through the castle. A few moments later, a screen
of light opened up in the room. Even Casi turned to see it. Once again, it was
Emperor Kaltex, but this time Enoma and Reo were by his side.
"Well, if it isn't my least favourite enemies," Kaltex said, moving his
floating chair around a bit. "I have Koujii, Geicjo, and Anubis. And I know
you know where the Thunderstone is, so just tell me and I might spare Koujii
and Geicjo. I know they were lying when they said where the gemstone is,"
he said, glaring to the right.
"How did you know that?" a voice asked. It was Koujii's voice.
"I could read your minds," Kaltex answered. "Now, back down to business,"
he said, focusing his attention back to the screen. "I already know where the
Shadowstone and Firestone are, so just tell me where the Thunderstone is."
"Never!" Casi shouted. "I know exactly what you would do with it if we told
you where it is!" Kaltex slowly raised an eyebrow at Casi.
"Well, if you won't tell me, I'll find out from Anubis." Kaltex forced the
screen to turn to the right, revealing Anubis, untied, and standing freely next
to Kaltex and in front of Koujii and Geicjo, who were tied up.
"I've been waiting for this for a long time. I can't believe I was ever friends
with any of you," Anubis said. We all stared at him in disbelief, then Midnight
started to try to talk to him.
"Anubis! Listen to yourself! Do you know what you're saying? Can you hear me?"
Midnight shouted.
"It's no use," Ako said. "Anubis has been taken completely under Kaltex's control.
We have to either defeat him or Kaltex."
The screen focused back on Kaltex, Enoma, and Reo. "That's right, Ako. So if
you want your friend back, just tell me where the Thunderstone is," Kaltex said.
"Kaltex, I'm going to make sure you suffer for what you've done to Vela-Sei
during the few years I've been here," Amun-Ra said.
"Oh really? Well, I doubt you would fight your blood brother just to fight
me," Kaltex said, leaning on his left arm. "Even if you did have the guts
to, he'd destroy you in a matter of moments. Anubis has become more powerful
than any of you could ever be," Kaltex said. "Now, if you all want your
friend back, you will be here tomorrow morning! Understand?" Kaltex asked.
Amun-Ra swallowed nervously. "We'll be there and we'll take you down and free
Anubis from your spell!" He shouted.
"I don't think so," he said, leaning over to Enoma. "Is it off?"
"Uh... no," Enoma answered.
"Shut it off before I destroy it!" Kaltex shouted. The screen closed, and Casi
stared at where it had been. She had a bit of a worried look on her face.
"Knowing Kaltex, he put an extra spell on Anubis. One that would increase his
fighting stats," Casi said.
"That would definitely be one of Kaltex's moves," Amun-Ra said.
The next morning...
We snuck around one wall of Kaltex's castle, and snuck up on the guard. Bommdogg
hit him in the back of the head and he fell forward and didn't get back up.
We snuck into the perimeters of Kaltex's castle. We looked up. There was a door
high above us, but we couldn't reach it.
Inside Kaltex's castle...
"Kaltex, the NeoPets are here," Reo said.
"Very well, send down Anubis," Kaltex said.
"Yes, sir," Reo said, motioning to Anubis to go to the ground level.
Moments later...
Amun-Ra was looking up at the tower, waiting for something to happen, and then
the door slowly slid open. Anubis dropped down from the high tower and landed
directly in front of us. The marking on Anubis' forehead was still there, and
his eyes had become completely red. Amun-Ra stepped to the front of our group.
"Anubis, I don't want any trouble from you. Anubis, you're my little brother.
I won't hurt you if I don't have to," Amun-Ra said, circling Anubis. "Anubis,
do you remember our father, Anubis II?" he continued, changing into a lion.
At the same time, Anubis was changing into a wolf. They both jumped into the
air, and started throwing punches at each other that none of us could follow.
Shadow stared up at them. "I never knew anybody was that fast," he said
in total awe.
"Neither did I," Midnight said, watching the fight up in the air. "It's amazing
how fast Anubis can move."
"They're not Anubis' movements, they're the spell's movements," Ako said, keeping
his attention on the fight.
A screen of light opened in front of Ako. It was Casi, ready to give us directions
through the castle. "I found that in order to reach Kaltex's lair, you have
to get in the door at the top of the tower," she told us. Another screen of
light popped up to the right of Casi's. This one was a diagram, and it showed
the path we had to take to get to the main tower of Kaltex's castle. She pointed
to the top of the main tower. "This is probably going to be where Kaltex is.
The path there is trapped in numerous areas. If you can get to the top of the
first tower and fly or glide across the courtyard onto the ledge on the main
tower, you should have no problem getting in," Casi said, closing the diagram.
"I'm afraid that's all I've found so far. I'll let you know when I find something
else," Casi said, closing her window. We were ready to fight Kaltex.
Inside Kaltex's lair...
"Reo, have you found gotten the Thunderstone yet?" Kaltex impatiently asked.
"Just found it, Kaltex. I'll be back in a moment," Reo said, preparing to teleport
back. When he arrived, Kaltex snatched the Thunderstone from him.
"Finally, the energy hidden for so many centuries will be unleashed once again!"
Kaltex shouted, holding his hands over the three gemstones.
"Emperor, are you sure that you need so much extra energy? I've heard that
the mere feel of so much energy can destroy a person in a matter of moments.
Not even the person who made the gemstones could handle the power," Enoma said.
Kaltex glared at him menacingly.
"Enoma, would you come here for a moment?" Kaltex said, very casually. Enoma
walked over to him very cautiously. He knew what Kaltex was capable of. Kaltex
grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up. "Now listen here, Enoma. I need
every ounce of this energy. Now, you wouldn't be questioning my plan, would
you?" Kaltex asked.
"No, Kaltex! I swear I wasn't questioning your plan!" Enoma said, struggling
to get free. Kaltex threw him down onto the floor.
"That's good," Kaltex said, turning back to the gemstones. He held his hand
over the Thunderstone and began draining the energy from it. The energy was
flowing through his veins like his own blood. He became so powerful that he
was like a cyborg. "One down, two to go," Kaltex said, smiling, turning to look
at the Firestone and Shadowstone.
To be continued...
Next time on Doomsday Rider IV, our heroes storm Kaltex's lair, followed by Anubis.
Unfortunately, by the time they get there, Kaltex has already set the next phase
of his plan into motion. He plans to flash-fry the good guys by using his newly
obtained energy. Hopefully, Kaltex will somehow be defeated. |
