Lost Worlds of Neopia - Episode VI: Snowy Valley High

by evianevian

And now, to wrap up this sequence, we will end on a light note. Visiting the heart of Happy Valley, SnowSong the Christmas Bruce will be bringing you her personal view of a "world" of Neopia not often discussed: SNOWY VALLEY HIGH!!

Okay, so maybe Snowy Valley High isn't exactly lost, and it's certainly not a world, but it seems as though the greater population of Neopia has forgotten about it. This is quite a shame, for SVH, as those in-the-know call it, has much to offer. In one of the most beautiful, icy locations (Happy Valley), with admittance only to high achievers (level 10 or above), fifteen teachers for every student, a huge stock of 2842 desks, an average GPA of 3.6, and an adorable mascot (Frothy the Snow Poogle), SVH is a truly well-rounded (get it - it's shaped like a huge circular igloo) facility.

The school was built in Year 3 and has since been recognised on many levels, not just for its rigorous academics but also for the high quality of its cafeteria food, which is supplied daily by the Soup Faerie and Neopian Fresh Foods. With meals consisting of Mulligatawny Soup and Beefy Broccoli, students are truly offered nutritious and delicious meals.

The building itself, as I have mentioned, is shaped like an igloo, albeit much, MUCH larger. Due to this shape, SVH provides a great storage space for Mystery Island merchants' meat products. The students take this meat as an addition to their well-rounded diet; they seem to think this meat is theirs for the taking and, in fact, regularly conduct raids on the meat lockers beneath the schools, leading the food merchants of Mystery Island to wonder where all of their Stuffed Fish Heads and Fresh Shark Fins have gone.

The school's classes are excellent and unique, including such curriculum as Ice Sculpting, Snow Exploration, The Art of Slushie Making, and of course the Winter Fashion Design class, which uses up approximately 80 percent of Neopia's fur, polar fleece, and nylon supplies yearly. The school also holds a huge recycling drive weekly, with all profits going direct to the Money Tree. The Money Tree only had this comment: "Umm, what money? All those SVHers send me is tons and tons of recyclable goods every week!" Hmm....

Besides these recognitions, the school's only sports team, the SVH Chia Pops, recently won top awards in the high school skiing competitions after the only other two teams in the league dropped out, complaining of a lack of competition. This win was the end of a losing streak that had been going from the creation of the school, so their success is truly one to celebrate.

Certainly the school has produced many amazing alumni, including Zairiu the Swift, top ice slider Takano, and explorer Snow Shoono, all of whom come back to visit the school regularly to speak on the ever-present dangers of frostbite and hypothermia.

I invite you all to check out the amazing SVH for yourself; who knows, you might just learn something.

That's all for now folks and until next time.... Keep exploring, Neopia!
