It isn't a big secret that the key to training very quickly is to supplement
your other training efforts (such as the Training School, Swashbuckling Academy,
Lab Map, etc.), with Neggs that you can purchase from other Neopians or directly
from The Neggery.
There are several Neggs available that will permanently raise the stats of any
of your pets that you feed them to. Instead of feeding the free omelette you
get daily, consider feeding them a stat-raising Negg.
Before you begin training with Neggs, you must remember that, like any other
food item, not all pets will be able to eat each of the Neggs. The easiest way
to see if your pet will be able to eat the type of Negg you want to feed it
is to count the number of characters in the name of the Negg including the space
and if that number is equal to the length of your pet's name, your pet will
not eat that Negg and will find it disgusting. For example, if I wanted to feed
my pet Majal_Kita a Super Negg, I would count the length of his name and the
length of the Negg name and find that they are both 10 characters long, so it
would be impossible for me to feed him the Super Negg. So before spending loads
of Neopoints on a Negg to feed your pet, make sure your pet will even be able
to eat it.
The key to training with Neggs is knowing what each of the Neggs do and how
it will impact the rest of your training efforts. What this means is that if
you are at a certain level in the Training School and you feed it a Negg that
raises your pet's level before you've used as much of the course type as possible,
you may pay an extra Codestone per course before you would have been forced
to. Below is a list of what each of the stat-raising Neggs do and how many Negg
points they are currently:
Cool Negg (181 Negg Points)
+1 Level
+2-3 Maximum Hit Points
+2-3 Strength
+2-3 Agility (Movement)
Super Negg (115 Negg Points)
+1 Level
+2-4 Maximum Hit Points
+2-4 Agility (Movement)
Spiked Negg (99 Negg Points)
+2-5 Maximum Hit Points
Snegg (92 Negg Points)
+2-3 Maximum Hit Points
+2-3 Agility (Movement)
Power Negg (58 Negg Points)
+1 Strength
Silver Knight Negg (52 Negg Points)
+1 Defence
Faerie Queen Negg (41 Negg Points)
+1 Maximum Hit Point
Basic Power Negg (28 Negg Points)
Will either give +1 Defence or will only feed your pet and not raise the stats
As you can see, there is definitely a shortage of Neggs that will raise the
defence of your pet and the only two that have a chance only raise it by 1 point
each. Also, if your pet has 9 characters in its name, you will not be able to
feed it a Cool Negg and there will be a shortage of Neggs available to you that
can train the strength of your pet. For times when there is a shortage of a
certain stat, it is best to concentrate your efforts using the Training School
and other methods on that stat and continue to train your pet via the stat-raising
Neggs. This will allow you to bring up a well-balanced and strong pet very quickly.
Training with Neggs is definitely not always a cheap way to go either. There
is no hiding the fact that Neggs have skyrocketed in price recently and even
The Neopian Neggery has raised the price of some of the stat-raising Neggs.
Since The Neggery now requires more per Negg, the cost from other Neopians has
also increased. You can expect to pay about 900-950 NP per Negg point if you
purchase a Negg from another Neopian.
When researching the price of training your pet, you must consider utilising
all methods available to you. Neggs definitely aren't the cheapest way, but
it is always the quickest method, especially when your pet grows and the Training
School takes 6 hours between courses. |
