Elemental Distortions III: Part Seven

by selphie_tilmitt

Dynamite Rave
"Ah, young one. You're back so soon?" rumbled the deep voice of the Fire Dragon, from deep within the darkness of the warm volcano.

"Oh, yes Ignus, and I've brought what you asked for!" smiled Viator, standing stiffly, and waving towards her two comrades.

Flarizar stood with a strong sense of dignity, his arms crossed. He appeared strong, despite the overwhelming heat and smell of the volcano. Wing, on the other hand, coughed violently, and struggled to stay standing in the heat.

"Erm," sighed Viator.

To her surprise, there came the distinct choking sound of the Fire Dragon laughing, from within the volcano.

"That silver one reminds me much of you, Viator," it laughed.

"Th-thanks," coughed Wing.

Suddenly, the great Dragon's head lunged out from the darkness. Viator blinked at the sudden movement, as did Flarizar, who only stepped back at the spectacle. Wing, however, stared wide eyed in awe at the great elemental dragon of fire.

"You two have been chosen for the elite position of the elemental Fire Sages!" yelled the dragon, blinking it's fierce red eyes at the two Shoyru.

Viator grinned to herself, and quietly remembered the first time she heard this speech.

"Do you accept your fates?" growled Ignus.

"I do," replied Flarizar, nodding quickly.

"As do I," yelled Wing, suddenly standing straight, and his coughing ceased.

"GOOD!" yelled Ignus. As he yelled, the inner walls of the volcano shook violently, and small bits of debris fell onto Viator's head. She merely grimaced, and brushed them off.

"Now… I shall explain our situation to you," continued the Dragon. Viator blinked quickly, and realised how sleepy she had become. She yawned quietly, and wondered if she could stay awake through the entire explanation. She sighed at the thought of hearing the story again, and to her surprise, fell quietly asleep while standing up.

Viator's eyes snapped open again as she heard the dragon roar loudly.

"Understand?" roared Ignus.

"Yes!" replied Flarizar, and Wing, in unison.

"As my sages, it is your job to help the Dragon Knights defend against attacks. Both by using elemental Sage magic, and more importantly, creating the Dragon Knight armour and weapons!"

Viator grinned happily, as she wondered what her armour would look like.

"I'll make the weapon…" nodded Flarizar.

"That leaves me with the armour I guess?" sighed Wing, blinking up at the dragon.

Suddenly, a large black rock tumbled into the open mouth of the volcano, making a loud crashing sound as it hastily descended.

Viator gasped, and leapt out of the way just in time to see it demolish half the side of the volcano that she had been standing on.

"WHOA!" she gasped, blinking at the destruction.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are Fire Knight!" laughed a deep voice, from the high up mouth of the volcano.

Ignus let out a large roar, and Wing stepped back at the sudden outburst.

"Oh Ignus, didn't realise you were down there. Shall I send my master your regards before he destroys you?" laughed the villainous voice.

Ignus hissed quickly, and swung his head around to face Viator. His eyes glowed an even fiercer red, and his voice came out in a hideous growl.

"Go now faithful knight. I know you can do it," he blinked, and quickly added. "The Sages will be up in a moment... I must instruct them on how to make the armour GO NOW!"

But by the time he had finished his sentence, Viator was already halfway up the volcano, flying with a furious scowl on her face. She narrowed her eyes as she got closer to the moonlit mouth of the volcano.

Shooting into the air, she stopped flapping her wings to fall to the same level as her opponent. She let out a quick sigh, and stared at the Darkness Dragon Knight. He merely smirked at her display, and his blade glinted in the moonlight.

"So you were stuck with the lowly task of rounding up the sages? Did you REALLY think they would be able to help you?" laughed Nero, his armour clanking.

"They can and will," Growled Viator, through her clenched teeth. "But for now, I'll wipe the floor with you without their help!"

"Without a weapon? Or armour?" scoffed Nero, flying back a bit.

"I don't need them!" shouted Viator, flying forward.

She threw a quick punch as she lunged forward, but Nero merely laughed, and dodged quickly. She grimaced, and shot out a foot, but he darted to the side, still chuckling.

"Is that all?" he said, yawning.

"ARGH!!!" yelled Viator, clenching her fists. "TRY THIS THEN!" and she pulled back her arms. "FLAAARE!" Three small fireballs formed between her two arms, and she quickly shot them forward. "ARROW!!"

Nero raised a quick eyebrow at the three arrow shaped balls of fire flying towards him. He laughed again, and retained his position.

Viator's mouth dropped as the three arrows merely hit his armour and disappeared.

"Pathetic!!" laughed Nero, leaning forwards in the air. "TRY THIS!" He yelled, rushing forward quickly.

Viator gasped as the blur rushed towards her, knocking her back in less then a second. As his armoured fist impacted her chest, she sputtered quickly, and flew back. "Augh," she gasped, zipping back through the air. She struggled to regain her breath and ignore Nero's maniacal laughter.

To her vast surprise, she felt someone zip behind her. She felt herself land in the arms of Flarizar, who looked down at her winded expression.

"Caught yah!" he grinned, letting go.

"Egh," coughed Viator, still trying to catch her breath and fly.

"Oooh, are these the scary SAGES that I'm supposed to fear?" laughed Nero from afar.

Viator grimaced, and looked over at the laughing skunk Scorchio.

"I can't STAND YOU!" came a familiar voice from above.

"Eh?" mumbled Nero, looking up in time to get smashed in the face by an angry Dethonis.

"AGH!" yelled Nero, as he spiraled downwards.

"Dethonis?" squealed Viator, relieved to see her friend. Dethonis looked over to her and grinned his traditional grin.

"And friends!" he laughed, raising his hand to point in the air above him.

"Heya Via!" laughed Sholady, gently flapping her wings. Beside her hovered Saria, her bracelets jangling as she waved. Also behind them was Ethine, who grimaced at Viator, and let out a loud snort.

"Trying to keep the glory to yourself?" she scoffed. Hovering beside her was Hokurii, who looked a tad sheepish around the group.

"What about... Murikaze?" muttered Viator, recalling that Grarrls certainly could not fly.

"Here!' came the deep voiced reply of the gold Grarrl. He levitated nervously beside Ghwely and Kargupi. Both his sages looked a tad disturbed, as they were obviously concentrating on a slight levitation spell. Murikaze also looked a tad nervous at the sight of the ground far below him.

"I couldn't have fought on the ground. So my Sages volunteered to help me," he laughed nervously. "Gaia taught them this spell, and explained how to keep it going while they performed the armour spell.."

"I guess everyone's here then," replied Viator, smiling happily at the group of Dragon Warriors.

"How touching!!!" laughed the voice of NeroFautica, as he rose upwards, into the moonlight. "I guess everyone's here! Such a happy bunch!" he said with mock sweetness, clasping his hands together. "Makes my job easier!" he laughed, drawing his large dark sword.

"All right Sages!" yelled Dethonis, swishing his arm in the air. "TO the side! We knights will battle, you hurry and cast the spell for our Dragon Armour! Then do what you can to help!"

The seven sages nodded quickly, and whizzed into a large circle around the 5 Dragon Knights, forming the battle area.

"Oh, and, Wing," said Viator, looking over at the silver Shoyru. "No technology please, just magic." She winked at his fierce scowl, and watched him take his place.

Nero began his maniacal laugh again, and Ethine screeched a quick war cry as she rushed forward. Viator heard her cry, and followed quickly, joined by Dethonis and Murikaze.

As they rose to begin the final battle, Ghwely reached an arm out, and his cloak flew out behind him in the air.

"ALL RIGHT EVERYONE!" he yelled fiercely. "They can't fight barehanded!!

The rest of the Sages nodded at his comment, and began to concentrate.

"All right Sho," muttered the purple Shoyru, closing her eyes in an attempt to concentrate. "You can do this. For once you're being included in the action... don't wuss out now," she cried out quickly, and opened her eyes. She forcefully flung an arm forward, pointing at Dethonis. He gasped in surprise as a large beam of yellow light flew into his hands. To his astonishment, it took the form of a large long bow. It appeared to be made of a light yellow crystal, and was inscribed with the many crests of the Air Dragon.

"Thanks Sho," he mumbled quietly, zipping backwards. He took the bow in proper posture, and a large arrow of yellow light formed between the wire. He grinned as he heard the string snap, sending the bolt of yellow light towards Nero, who was swiping at a panicked Ethine.

Nero saw it out of the corner of his eyes, and dropped quickly, barely missing the arrow.

"My turn!" laughed Saria, clapping her hands to keep a rhythmic gypsy beat. Sholady turned and grinned at her, as she began to spin in the air. Sholady also began to clap the rhythm, as Saria closed her eyes and melted into the dance.

Dethonis gasped again, as he saw the yellow light envelop him. He grinned quickly, as he realised it was the armour forming over his body. The shoulder guards, arm and leg gauntlets formed quickly around him. All of them made from the same material as his Bow, and each delicately inscribed with the Air Dragon Crest. The breastplate formed last, large and light, it clanked into place with the shoulder guards. It bore a massive crest, and glistened in the moonlight.

"Excellent!" yelled Dethonis, zooming to the fore ground of the battle to aid Ethine.

"My turn," mumbled Flarizar, raising a fist in the air. He gave a great cry as he concentrated the fire energy into the weapon.

"Ack," cried the surprised Viator, as the bolt of red light landed in her hands. She stared wide eyed at it, as it formed into a long lance. It was intricately designed, spanning the length of her normal attack fork, and appeared to be made of some red crystal. It glowed softly in the darkness, and radiated with fire energy.

"Perfect," she grinned, thrusting it forward in the air as a test.

"No technology eh," sighed Wing, following his partner's example. He grinned quickly, and pictured the armour in his mind.

Again, Viator gasped as she saw the light surround her body. When it finally cleared, she saw the red shoulder and shin guards adorning her body. She also wore a breastplate similar to Dethonis', and ankle and arm gauntlets. She grinned when she saw them glowing with the same fire energy as her lance, and also noticed the Fire Dragon crests on each piece of armour

To her surprise, another light hit her eyes, and she closed them in surprise.

When she opened them, everything seemed to bear an orange-ish tint. She sighed when she realised she had been given a transparent visor around her eyes, wrapping around the back of her head. She blinked twice as she saw several numbers, and arrows appear in the visor.

"I THOUGHT IS SAID NO TECHNOLOGY WING!" she yelled, trying to follow the arrows, which were coloured to match which dragon knight they were monitoring.

"Hehe," chuckled Wing, smirking at her anger.
