The Grey Evil Fuzzle's Revenge

by ticketytock2kay

Sharpsky was a Striped Skeith. He could eat anything, from Fuzzles to PetPets to books. Because of this, he had become extremely fat in just a matter of weeks after he was born. Two of his favourites foods were Red Uni Plushies, and Chocolate. One of the reasons he loved eating Red Uni Plushies was because (he claimed) they tasted like cranberry, but I guess his owner, or I should say ex-owner, never really found out. She dumped him at the pound after a few days of feeding him an endless supply of books and Fuzzles.

It just so happened I wandered into the pound for no particular reason that very day he had been abandoned. A Korbat working there showed me around. I looked at the sobbing Kacheeks, the pitiful Flotsams and finally I reached the Skeith section. There, I saw Sharpsky, just as a Gelert was putting him into a cage with some food. When I saw his stripes, I picked him up and brought him to the counter. "I'll take him," I said. "What a find!" I paid eighty-five Neopoints to the Uni and took him home.

Once I got home, I saw it was time to go grocery shopping--the shops were about to restock. But now I had Sharpsky and I couldn't bring him along shopping. He might get in the way. So I decided to put him into a box with a blanket, a bottle full of nutritious Kau Kau Milk, and a few toys. He curled up almost immediately with his soft yellow blanket and went to sleep, and I went off shopping.

When I reached home after a few hours of shopping, I put down my shopping bags and headed for Sharpsky's room. I opened the door slowly, so as not to wake him up. Tiptoeing over to the box, I gently peered into the box and.... screamed. He was greedily munching on his Yellow Kacheek Plushie and had already eaten his NeoBlocks and his box of crayons. I snatched the headless Kacheek Plushie from him, shocked. "Bad Sharpsky!" I scolded him, but all he did was grin, with bits of thread and cotton wool in his teeth. It was revolting.

It was not long before I realised that Sharpsky was not a regular pet. Unlike my previous Zafara, who used to eat Faerie Pancakes for breakfast, he would eat plushies. Mountains of them. He refused to eat anything else. Before long, he would shovel down at least 4 Uni Plushies, 2 Nimmo Plushies and 7 Meerca Plushies before bedtime, and when it was bedtime, he would have some more Kacheek and Wocky Plushies, and for dessert, his favourite choice would be Usuki dolls. Most of all, he loved eating Meerca and Grundo Plushies, as they were the cheapest of all. For his birthday, he received a rainbow Cybunny Plushie and a White Blumaroo Plushie, and guess what? He ate them.

Unlike my previous routine of going to the food store, or bakery, I would pay visits to the toy shop, trying to pick up a good deal on an Aisha Doll or Elephante toy. In fact, I went there so often that when the Lupe shopkeeper saw me approaching, he would get his Tuskaninny workers to start filling the shelves with the newest plushies in stock. He must've thought I was a plushie freak or some kind of whacko avid plushie collector, which most of us are nowadays.

Then one day, as I was looking at the toys in the store, just after I passed the Bouncy Ball section, I saw a certain type of Fuzzle I had never seen before in my life in Neopia. It was grey, and it's eyes seemed so real - they sparkled at me when I looked at them. As if I was hypnotised, I bought not one, not two, not four, but three of them which were in stock for 400 NP each and took them home. Sharpsky saw them, and ate them before you could say "Grey Evil Fuzzle".

The very next day after Sharpsky had eaten those strange Fuzzles, he told me he felt very weak, and that he was hungry. This was no surprise to me, as he always felt that way after eating one too many plushies. I gave him my last Kyrii plushie and sent him off to bed, sure he would be better after a few hours. When I checked up on him, I became scared. He was begging me for some regular food, like a sandwich, or even a milkshake. For the first time in months, I made a visit to the Food Shop, and picked up some things. A stop at the Bakery made me buy some donuts and bread for him as well.

Laden with all of my shopping bags, I rushed upstairs to his room and gave him a sandwich. For a few weeks I fed him regular food, and he began slowly to get better. I told my Neofriend about his condition, and she, being a very avid Neopian, said that maybe he had a disease that was new to Neopia, like Ugga-Ugga was a few months before. She suggested I bring him to the NeoDoctor and see if I could get any free medicine. If the disease was a new one, soon many pets would be catching it, and I would be able to sell the medicine for hundreds of Neopoints. She was much more disappointed than me when the Gelert Doctor simply told me to lay off the plushies for a while, and give him regular food. I, on the other hand, was pretty glad I didn't have to pay a whopping amount of Neopoints to make him better.

One month later, Sharpsky flew into the kitchen as usual. (Most Skeiths have wings, but very few actually use them, you know.) "Guess what I got at the Toy Store for you today!" I said, and from behind my back I pulled out a brand new Green Aisha Doll. Sharpsky did something he never ever did before--he refused to eat it! Apparently after eating the mysterious Fuzzle that I had bought that day, he was too scared to ever touch plushies ever again.

However, Sharpsky finally has found a hobby--he collects plushies instead of eating them. And I'm glad. My trips to the toy store aren't that frequent, and the prices of Usuki dolls have dropped. Just in case you're wondering, Sharpsky was the one behind the great Usuki craze. When they came out, I would instantly grab every single one of them, which is why the prices stayed high for quite some time. Now, however, he's stopped eating them, and now he's collecting him. Uh-oh, looks like the shops are about to restock. I promised to get him a Fuzzie Bear and Beautiful Bride Usuki today.
