"Pleeeeeeease Mum?" my Lupe, Scucian begged me. I looked at him sadly.
Then I glanced up at the fire paint brush shining in the window. It was set
in a glass case with a padlock. People guarded fire paint brushes like bank
vaults these days.
"Scucian," I said, kneeling down and placing one hand on his head and the
other on my knee. "I've told you before, we can't afford it. The money we have
me must save, and part of it is going into the savings for Aerclya's strawberry's
paint brush and your fire one," I explained. Scucian hung his head.
"I wish you hadn't lost your account," he said.
"I know," I replied, standing up and wiping a tear from my eye.
I stroked Scucian's neck as we continued down the street. A little while back,
I had been hacked by an unknown person. Despite my attempts, I couldn't get
it back, and made a new account, Arokh128ii, to start my Neopian life over again.
Scucian is my blue Lupe, and Aerclya is my yellow Gelert. Aerclya is very defensive
of our family, and is only loyal to Scucian and I, being very vicious to others.
Scucian rarely speaks. When he does, it's with me.
We walked down the street, and I went to the Shop Wizard. Entering: Fire,
Fire, Your Pants on Fire Paint Brush in the box, I got the results.
70,000 NP. There was a day I could afford that, and there was a day when the
Rainbow Fountain was flowing with colours. If only, if only....
I shook my head at Scucian, who flattened his ears and hung his head. I bought
some food and we walked home to our little, cozy house on the top of Emerald
Lupe Hill, a little hill on the outskirts of Neopia. At the door, I saw Aerclya
watching guard, her eyes not leaving the little path.
When Scucian and I came up, she flattened her ears and growled. However, noticing
it was her owner, she undid the lock on the door and let us in. After checking
that no one else was outside, she looked at me as I placed the groceries on
the counter.
"No luck?" she asked. I sighed.
"Nope," I replied, and Scucian walked upstairs to his room. Aerclya sat next
to me.
"Mum, we have to do something. Our lives can't be like this," Aerclya
said, thinking. "Why don't we get another pet? A Krawk?" she asked.
"No, if you want to get one you have to ***** **** * ***** ****** ***
**** **** ** *** ***** ******, *** ** **** ****** ***1 ," I explained.
Aerclya looked at the ceiling.
"I know that!" she groaned.
"I know what you're trying to say, but right now times are very tough," I
told her, scratching her ears.
"Here, I'll go and put the groceries away, you go and think of something,"
Aerclya said, hopping over to the grocery bags.
"Thanks," I said, and she began putting the canned soup in the pantry.
I thought, What could I do? What did I do before?
"That's it!" I cried. Aerclya looked at me.
"What's it?" she asked.
"I have an idea on how to get some money. Get Scucian, we're going shopping,"
I said. Aerclya placed the juice in the refrigerator then bolted up the stairs.
"Scucian! Mum has an idea to get some Neopoints!" she yelled. Scucian
walked down the stairs and looked at me.
"Don't worry, this will probably work," I said, and we started walking down
to the marketplace.
I first looked up red PetPet paint brush. 13,000 NP. I could afford that.
Then, I looked up Anubis. 4,000 NP. I could get that, too. However, before I
did anything, I looked up red Anubis. 90,000 NP. I smiled to myself, and quickly
bought the Anubis and the red PetPet paint brush. Placing the paint brush in
a bag and holding the little Anubis in Scucian's paws, we walking to the PetPet
puddle.
"Now Scucian, go paint him red," I said. Scucian took the PetPet
paint brush and the Anubis. He whipped the paint brush over the Anubis, and
made it a bright red. The Anubis wagged its stub tail.
"Good little boy," I said, patting both the Anubis and Scucian on the head.
Next, I bought a large cage with sand, a pyramid, a water pool, and other various
things. I set it up in the front of my shop and placed the Anubis on the inside.
Then, I set up a sign and wrote on it,
Red Anubis Amon-Ra for sale: 87,000 NP. Needs a good owner, cage comes free.
"That's out plan," I said while Amon-Ra began drinking from the water pool.
"D'ya think it will work?" Aerclya asked. I shrugged.
"Every day I'll check the price and make mine a good price," I told her. She
smiled, and Scucian sat next to Amon-Ra.
"I'll watch over him while you're in the shop," he said.
"Thanks," I replied. We may be a happy family after all.
This is a true story. I am trying to sell a red Anubis at my shop hoping to
make a profit. This story wasn't intended to be a sales ad, just a story by
a Neopian.
