Holding the trapped Light Faerie in his paw, he pointed it in different directions.
There were two tunnels, neither of which looked very friendly. He sniffed the
ground, the Huggy had gone left. He was just about to follow the trail, when
he heard something marching in the left tunnel, and it was heading towards him!
Jackabenze ran to the other tunnel, and found a gap in the rock. Squeezing
into it, he peeked out to see what was marching. When they finally came into
view, he saw that they were Hornsby. But their eyes glowed an evil red. Jackabenze
waited until they passed, and slumped to the ground. He had no idea what those
things were, but he wasn't waiting to find out. Looking round, he found the
Light Faerie he'd dropped when the mutant PetPets had passed. When he found
it, he picked it up and unscrewed the lid of the bottle. "You might as well
try and escape while you can," he said to it. The Light Faerie looked at him,
"What, you don't want me to bless you an ability?" It asked, surprised.
Jackabenze shook his head. "At the moment I'm more worried about finding out
where all these PetPets are doing here" he answered. The Light Faerie smiled.
"That is such an incredible thing. Balthazar has bottled me so many times, and
every pet wants something in return. I will stay with you until I can repay
your debt.
Jackabenze looked at the midget faerie, and grinned. "Okay, I could use the
company. I'm Jackabenze."
"I'm Suna," said the Faerie.
Sunni and Jackabenze walked down the passageway. After a while, the faeries
disappeared, and the two of them had to rely on Sunni's light. After a while,
they started to hear voices. As they walked on, they came to a dungeon cage.
The voices were coming from it. Jackabenze and Sunni looked at each other, and
started to creep towards it.
"Open you stupid rock! Open!" shouted Leonot, and started to bang his hands
against the rock. "I know you can!" Kamedaki watched the determined Shoyru from
above the well, and sighed. Jackabenze had followed the Huggy, and before she
and Leonot could follow, it closed up.
"Give it a rest Leonot, it's not going to open," she shouted down to Leonot.
He flew up. "Well do you have a better idea on how to get in?" he asked sarcastically.
The blue Acara nodded. "We wait for a PetPet, and go in after it," she said.
Leonot shook his head. "It could be hours till the next PetPet comes," he said.
Then he looked at Kamedaki, "unless we make the well think a PetPet is falling
down," he said.
Kamedaki was starting to get worried, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
she asked.
Jackabenze and Sunni walked up to the cage, and listened to the conversation.
"I told, you, I don't know who's keeping us prisoner," said one voice. "I
don't even know how I got here."
"The evil has arisen, the PetPets are being led" said the other voice. "The
evil must be stopped."
Jackabenze felt this was time to make an entrance. "Uhhh, what are you talking
about?" he asked.
The two Neopets whirled their heads around. "At last, someone's come to rescue
us!" one of them shouted.
Sunni went to the cage. "Don't worry, we'll get you out" she said, and started
muttering magic spells on the lock.
"I can't believe I let you talk me into this Leonot!" grumbled Kamedaki, as
she straightened the head of her Kadoatie outfit. "I look like a blue blob!"
"How is that different from any other day?" Leonot asked. Leonot's idea was
that they dressed up as PetPets, and jumped into the well. If it worked, great.
If it didn't, not so great.
Leonot flew over to the well. He was dressed as a Baby Vamp. "You ready?"
he asked.
Kamedaki grunted, and clambered over the well. "Lets go!" she cried, and they
began the plummet. At first, Kamedaki didn't think they had made it, but then
the boulder jumped out, and the crashed into it.
"Oww, that smarts!" cried Kamedaki. Just then, they realised they had company.
Turning round they found themselves face to face with the Hornsby Army.
"You talk," one of them said, pointing to Kamedaki. "You servants of the emperor
too?"
Kamedaki looked at Leonot, and they both decided the same thing.
"Yeah, were… servants," answered Leonot.
The Hornsby grunted.
"Come," said the leader again.
Since they didn't have any other choice, Kamedaki and Leonot followed them.
As they walked through the tunnels, Kamedaki felt someone nudging up to her.
Looking round, she saw it was one of the Hornsby. "You know, for a Kadoatie,
you're pretty cute," it said. "Perhaps after we take over Neopia we can get
to know each other better."
Kamedaki looked away disgusted. "I'm going to destroy Jackabenze," she thought.
"Thank you for releasing us," said the Peophin, after Sunni cracked the lock.
"Now we can defeat the evil."
The Kyrii looked at the Peophin, and sighed. "Will you stop with the evil
business already? It's doing my head in."
Suddenly, Jackabenze's brain clicked. That Kyrii had looked familiar. And
now he knew why. "You're Capara,
the Cheat! player aren't you?" he said.
Capara looked at him, and smiled. "Got it in one," she answered.
Sunni was looking at the Peophin. "And you must be Peopatra" she said. "I
saw your picture in the paper."
The Peophin nodded. "Yes, I was Petnapped about two days ago" she said. "The
evils want me to help him keep the PetPets healthy."
"This evil you keep talking about, what is it?" asked Jackabenze. "I mean,
is that what's been making our PetPets act so weird."
Peopatra nodded. "I will tell you the story. It may seem strange in some places,
and you may not believe it, but it is the beginning of the story, and it is
up to us to decide the ending."
Then she sat down, and began her tale…
