Tchia the Chia was so excited! His parents were going to buy him a paint brush
for Christmas! He was so happy, he'd always wanted to be Christmas, and since
it was a Christmas present it had to be a Christmas Paint Brush!
Tchia couldn't sleep, all he could think about was Christmas day! 'Christmas
coloured! My friends will look at me stunned, and I'll be the best! The best!'
he thought.
On Christmas day, Tchia was so excited, he could hardly breath. He walked down
the stairs, and there, on the steps was a present! It was marked 'To: Tchia'!
He opened it with joy . . . tearing . . . and finally he got it open! A Christmas
Paint Brush! "Yahoo!" he yelled. He ran over to his parent and hugged them so
hard, and thanked them over and over again.
"Let's go the Rainbow Pool!" yelled Tchia "Now!" So, not arguing, Tchia's parents
took Tchia straight over to the Rainbow Pool.
Five minutes later Tchia was so happy, he was Christmas! "Can I go tell my
friends, can I, can I, huh, huh?" yelled Tchia.
His parents said it was fine, and took him right over to his friend's house.
As Tchia ran into the house he fell right on a box, and there was a loud clatter.
Tchia fell down with a big box, and all its contents spilled out, some fell
into Tchia's mouth, as he gagged, but then swallowed them.
Tchia ran over to his friend, and yelled "Look, I'm Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!"
"Ugh, no your not!" said Tchia's friend "What are you?"
Tchia ran over to a mirror, and looked. He was ugly! He was part pineapple,
plum, and tomato!
"Oh, no!" said Tchia's friend's mom "Our safety box things are gone!"
Tchia ran over, and he noticed! the box he knocked into on the way in was their
safety deposit box, and the things he swallowed were a pineapple, plum, and
tomato Chia Pop. "I...I...I...." Tchia couldn't say anything.
Tchia ran home crying as hard as he could! Christmas didn't matter anymore!
He was ugly, much uglier then he was before painted!
He came home and locked himself in his room. He didn't come out all day.
The next day Tchia's mom called to Tchia, "Time for school!"
"No!" screamed Tchia.
Of course, there was a huge argument, but in the end Tchia's mom won.
"You're not ugly! You're the cutest kid I know!" said Tchia's mom as she pushed
him out to the school bus.
Tchia walked as slowly as possible to the bus, but eventually got on. Like
always, everyone talking to different people, but when Tchia got on it was all
focused on teasing one person, Tchia.
Tchia sat there, being teased, trying to ignore it, but he couldn't. It hurt
him, but he knew why they were doing it.
"Stop!" Tchia yelled right when they got school, and everyone stopped. Stopped
and didn't talk. Everyone got off the bus in silence.
All through school no one approached Tchia, and everyone ignored him.
When he got home he told his mom he was being teased because he was part pineapple,
tomato, and plum. So his mom called all the children's parents. As it turned
out, every child said the same thing "We weren't teasing Tchia, we were talking
with other people!"
"Tchia," his mom said "Umm, I think your mind played tricks on you, no one
was teasing you."
"Yes they were!" yelled Tchia, thinking he was correct.
"Okay," his mom said "Go to bed now, it's late, we'll talk about this tomorrow
after school."
So, Tchia went to bed.
On the bus the next day, everyone really was teasing Tchia, and everyone was
calling him names, and calling him ugly, and they all laughed at him.
"Nooooooooo!" Tchia screamed.
Suddenly he sat up in his bed. He was in bed. Nothing actually happened. It
was a dream. A hopeful dream.
Tchia looked down at his body. Regular blue, like always. He looked up at his
calendar. Tomorrow was Christmas, he wasn't painted yet. It was all a dream.
"Phew," Tchia sighed "A hopeful dream."
