I was also a Newbie once struggling to become a great Neopian, but when Winter
Holidays came and I had nothing to give my pets, while others were generously
giving them expensive gifts, I felt very sad. What could I give my NeoPets with
only a little NP?
Now some of us accidentally seem to forget about our pets while we are trying
to earn NP (not me! *wink*). Yes, even I do tend to forget about my pets. So
how about giving them a nice bath? Just buy some shampoo, a towel, and a brush
(short or long depending on pet), this should only cost around 500 NP (because
the "two in one hair care" price has risen).
If that is too expensive how about buying them a Plushie? These toys are irresistible
(some NeoPets will not like them though) and some kinds are extremely cheap.

Also another good thing to do as a gift is to spend time with your pet. Play
Kacheek Seek, Blackjack, and other games with them. Your pets become really
happy when you take time to play and care for them. And you also earn NP from
this! So after you play you can buy a little gift for them!
Now the Advent Calendar is a good way to get presents. You can either give
your pets the presents you receive from there or sell what you get from the
Advent Calendar and buy a different gift.
Another gift for slightly richer Newbies is a NeoHome. Build your pet a room!
Even if you only can afford bamboo or straw and no extensions, you pet is still
going to love having its own room! Although, they may start to have a really
messy room, like me;).
PETPETS! These are really great gifts for your pets. And even though you may
see Flossets selling for 100,000 NP, their are still some really cute cheap
ones, too. Such as the Uggatrip for 800 NP and the Abominable Snowball (really
good for Christmas) for 900 NP. Pets love PetPets as they will be their constant
companions when you are busy.
