the enigmatic Ghost Lion. Judging by the many Neopian Times articles I had to
scrutinise, the Ghost Lion is truly the most controversial creature known, especially
since he found his way into the Gallery of Evil, yet his roar can heal pets
to their full.
Firstly, we will start with the official version on the Ghost Lion: the Gallery
of Evil. It says: "An ill-fated omen sent to scare youngsters, the Ghost
Lion usually appears just before tragedy occurs. He is also the hunter of lost
spirits and wayward young pets." As it is, the official version is the one closest
to truth, for articles written by Neopians are based on opinions, such as the
chapter about the Ghost Lion in "Guide
to the Gallery of Evil".
Occasionally, a Neopian will hear him roaring, 'Did you know that Mystery Island
is haunted?' or 'Don't go to Mystery Island!!!' Many people may be confused
about why he warns NeoPets away from Mystery Island, on the pretense that it
is haunted. After searching Mystery Island, I realised that the Training School
was filled with Chias and Kacheeks. As you will remember, Chias and Kacheeks
are what he describes as the most wayward species. In the article "Are
They All Actually Evil? Not Really", Mystic_monkey_3000 mentions that
the Ghost Lion might be classified as heartless because "he will heal perfectly
healthy pets, but not a dying one always by his side". In reality, the Kacheek
had been bullying a group of NeoPets, so the Ghost Lion was just teaching him
a lesson. In fact, if you watch the Training School video,
you will see a Kacheek heavily wrapped up in bandages. He had also escaped with
the same fate. Thus, the Ghost Lion can be said to be a hunter of lost spirits
and wayward young pets.
Youngsters everywhere are told that the green phantom lion appears before tragedy
occurs. What they are actually doing is to tell them not to misbehave. For if
the Ghost Lion appears because he senses a NeoPet playing a naughty prank, there
truly will be a an unlocking of the Ghost Lion's secret.
