New to NeoPets? by fosterkitty | |
NeoPets is one of the most popular sites on the Web, bringing millions of kids
and adults of all ages. NeoPets is a great way to spend your free Web time.
But first, of course, you have to acquire one of the many adorable NeoPets available
on the NeoPets Web site. There are many different NeoPet species to choose from,
and you can only pick four! I would recommend, however, that you start with
one and not pick out four right away. To see the full extent of all the many
possibilities for our NeoPets we will look at how species, age, and colour effect
your NeoPet.
There are many different species of NeoPets, all of which can be loving and
happy pets. Each kind of NeoPet has a different personality. To give you an
idea of how a NeoPet's species relates to its personality, I will describe two
very different types: Kacheeks and Jetsams. Kacheeks are friendly, fun loving,
and carefree. They are also small, cute, roundish, and have floppy ears (all
the things we use to define "cute"). They may not resemble real critters, but
they sure are adorable (until they get mad, of course). Jetsams (limited edition)
on the other hand, tend to be grumpy, quarrelsome, and above all, fierce warriors.
They are also big, muscular, have big teeth, and look like sharks. Not something
you want to be attacked by! You have just now decided on a Kacheek haven't you?
Well, I don't have a Jetsam, but I know that they still will love you, and will
be powerful protectors if you take good care of them.
The age has a great impact: the older the NeoPet, the more developed the personality.
Age and species affect NeoPets in many different ways, but the most obvious
is the effects on their personality. An older NeoPet will know decidedly what
its favorite games and food are. If you create or adopt a young NeoPet, it will
be completely up to you to help it grow up and work with it. If you adopt an
older NeoPet (you can only create young ones), you can work with it, but it
will be more decided in its likes and dislikes. However, older NeoPets have
a higher adoption fee than younger ones. Both young and old need lots of love
and care to stay happy.
Colour is a mysterious thing in Neopia. Some people claim that colour affects
NeoPets; however, experience proves otherwise. I think all NeoPets have different
personalities, and therefore colour is not a good basis for judgment. Moreover
since you can "change" your NeoPet's colour, it is impossible to tell a NeoPet's
personality by its colour. I have a red Kacheek and a green Kacheek; I got a
blue paint brush and painted my Kacheek blue, a natural Kacheek colour. Both
Kacheeks stayed the same, except the green one is jealous that I didn't have
a paint brush for her. If you get a rainbow paint brush, you can paint your
NeoPet that colour. Everyone knows that NeoPets only come in red, yellow, blue,
and green. So this obviously is artificial. This is a much disputed topic but
as you can see, colour really doesn't make any difference.
As you see, species and age affect your NeoPet's personality while colour has
little or no effect. There are almost unlimited possibilities for NeoPet species
in Neopia; there is always something new and special, waiting for a new and
special person to discover them. The young of Neopia are cute, adorable, and
impressionable, while the older are full of surprises and charming in their
own right. Although colour has no effect, it adds a final touch to all our wonderful
pets in Neopia There are no right or wrong NeoPets in Neopia; all of them will
love you and strive to make you love them (and tend to make a nuisance of themselves
in the process). |
