Shops: A Great Way To Get NP - If You Do It Right by Jack_278 | |
With help from Zboin, Bluefishmon8899, Alibluef, and GoldenRod015
I'm not denying the fact that if you buy items for 14 NP and sell them for
15 NP you aren't going to get very much money. However, some things are entirely
worth selling, and will make you quite a lot of money which can then be spent
on pampering your NeoPets. You can get these items from random events--but don't
rely on those! The best way is by buying items from shops, but for making a
real profit this requires both a quick and observant eye, and also, a fast computer.
So, what is worth buying?
Kauvara's Magic Shop
This is one of the most profitable things to do--buy things from Kauvara's,
and sell them. But for this, you need a fast connection, and you need to be
extremely quick. You also need to know what to buy.
Faeries-- Hard to get, but they sell for around 3600 or so, and come
for 450-460, so they can be worth it. You can also use them to bless your pets,
since you won't get it cheaper at player's shops, but if you decide to do that
you should probably decide on the basis of two things: A) Is the ability worth
it? (You can find out by looking at the list of all abilities) and B) Do you
even fight in the Battledome? If the answer to either of these is 'no', you
should probably sell 'em.
Grade: (On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest and 1 the lowest) 8 ½.
Morphing Potions-- If you can get something like a Poogle Morphing Potion
or one of the Desert Morphing Potions you can get considerable profit out of
it. But, before buying a Potion, check that it's worth it. A clue to that is
if it stays on to the next restock, it's not worth it.
Grade: 6
Motes-- Hard to get; some are more profitable than others, but as they
come pretty cheap (most at about 100-200) you can't lose. Frost Mote, Water
Mote, Lava Mote, and Bubble Mote are, in my experience, quite profitable. However,
Motes are almost as unpredictable as Chocolates on prices, so it's hard to put
a lasting estimate. Generally Motes are pretty good.
Grade: 9
Kauvara's Potion-- In my experience, it's probably too much trouble,
and it's also not something for a shop, since people generally don't buy it
from shops. Still, if you want it, go ahead.
Grade: 4
Those are pretty much what I think is really profitable to sell from Kauvara's.
So, on to the next way to get money from a shop, perhaps even more profitable
than Kauvara's, but less well-known.
The Chocolate Factory
When I first started out, I bought things from the Chocolate Factory and sold
them, and got a pretty good amount of money from that. But there are different
kinds of chocolates; also, they all sell differently, so you have to check the
Shop Wizard before buying anything, even if it looks good. I made that mistake
a few times, and learned from it. Also, Chocolate Factory prices change so much
that you need to check the Shop Wizard before putting anything in your shop,
to check what the current low price is. Still, chocolates are cheap, and usually
don't sell for less in a shop, and if they do, you can always feed it to your
pet.
Dark Chocolates-- That depends which dark chocolate it is. Things like
Dark Chocolate Bruces, Blumaroos, etc. are profitable, but not all Dark Chocolates
are. They're very tasty, usually not as expensive as Orange or Mint Chocolates.
Grade: 7
Orange Chocolates-- Pretty good, most of the time. Things that sell
for a good price include Orange Chocolate Jetsams and a few others, but they
aren't the best of chocolates.
Grade: 5 1/4
Mint Chocolates-- A bit more expensive than most other chocolates, usually.
Mint Chocolate Usuls are probably one of the best of the Mint Chocolates, but
there are also some others. Like Orange Chocolates, they aren't the best but
are good.
Grade: 6
Milk Chocolates-- My personal favorite of the chocolates. Cheap, so
you have nothing to lose, and sell for a pretty good price. Milk Chocolate Jetsams
and Flotsams are some of the best.
Grade: 8 3/4
White Chocolates-- Not as good as the others, but cheap and they sell
for a relatively good price.
Grade: 6
Sweets (NOT to be confused for Sweeties!)-- Awesome! They come at about
5 and sell for 5000-6000, 1000 times the price. Another favorite of mine.
Grade: 10
Jelly Beans-- Sell about the same as sweets, at about 1000 times the
price.
Grade: 10
As you can see, chocolates are pretty good for selling (and eating!) Otherwise
there aren't too many shops that have all-profitable items, but: Neggs from
the food shop (any kind) will sell for a very good price, Robo things from the
furniture shop can sell for a good price, depending on what they are, and that's
about it for real profit.
However, although the actual items in the shop play a very large part in it,
there's also some other small things-- such as decorating your shop page. I'm
not too big on that myself, but here are some things you can do:
A) Music, but first check that it doesn't slow down the page too much, which
music usually does. Generally it's annoying because it slows the page down,
and because often it's just plain annoying music.
B) SMALL graphics which you can get off NeoPets or many other sites-- things
like the popular 'Rick the Rainbow Negg' and all those Neggs images, or the
'Addicted to NeoPets' quiz link, or things like that. However, avoid using large
graphics and too much text, which makes it so that you need to scroll down too
much to get to the actual items on sale.
C) Make backgrounds
if you want, but I find that they often slow down the page.
D) Collections-- like plushies or cheap, colorful things of the sort. I myself
have a small Mystery Island Collection. But don't make them too big, because
then people have to scroll down (again) to get to what they actually want.
Most things to decorate your page are annoying to people trying to buy items,
but a few things are okay.
Another things which plays a major factor in whether you get a profit or not
is your pricing. Always price things at the lowest price-- don't sell Faeries
for 10,000 NP, for example. Just refresh the Shop Wizard's list of prices a
few times and get an average low price, and put your item on sale for that in
your shop.
That's about it, Neomail all questions or comments to me (Jack_278). Please
visit my shop! Oh, and, I would like to dedicate this article (*Nudge nudge*
"Jack, you don't dedicate articles!" "Sorry Zboin, but how else do I do it?"
"You don't!") Ahem, anyway, I would like to dedicate this article (*Glares*)
to my wonderful NeoPets...("Jack! That's soooo cheesy!" "How else do I say it,
Golden?" *Silence*) umm, where was I?...ah, yes, Zboin the Acara, Bluefishmon8899
the Koi, GoldenRod015 the Lupe, and Alibluef the Grundo! Thank you for listening
so...attentively...right? |
