The young purple Chomby scientist has once again decided to share what she
has learnt on her studies with The Neopian Times, to answer yet another question:
Is your pet a Predator or Prey?
Hello again, is your pet a predator or prey? Well I decided to study this after
my finding on the Eyries, I have a list of all the know NeoPets (so far) with
a brief note on their habits. Please not that these almost only include wild
NeoPets, your own NeoPet is not very likely to go hunting, although you may
have to protect prey pets from larger wild NeoPets.
Nimmo: The Wise old Nimmo, although not a predator they are not prey. Being
able to defend themselves against some of the large NeoPets that could make
a meal out of them, but on a rare occasion a Nimmo has been known to snatch
up an insect Petite with there long tongue such as the Spyder, Buzzer, Poppit
and even the small yet dangerous Zebba and Flightning Bug. But this only ever
occurs in wild Nimmos.
Scorchio: definitely not prey, any wild Scorchios have been known for their
fiery personalities, Scorchios eat a large variety of foods, mainly berries
and fruit, they have been known to go fishing catching Primellas, Pepitos, Catamara
and Bowlas.
Jubjub: The little Jubjub, wild NeoPets may see the Jubjub as prey that is
until they attack, the enormous screech the Jubjub gives off is enough to make
a pack of Grarrls turn tail and run! They mainly eat berries, fruits and greens.
Grarrl: OK this pet is definitely Predator, a Wild Grarrl will see anything
as prey! Especially, Chias Meercas and the odd Usul, they will also hunt and
type of Petite, lots of the time a Grarrl will act bigger and ferocious then
it actually is, if a pet defends itself it’s most likely the wild Grarrl will
turn tail.
Skeith: A Skeith could easily be a predator, but it’s simply too lazy, preferring
to bully other NeoPets into doing things for them, the Skeiths is not all terrible
though, They will help a NeoPet in danger if they have to. The Skeith has been
known to pick off Greeble, but a Skeiths favorite Petite treat would have to
be the Scado!
Korbat: the Korbat can defend itself well, many a Eyrie has had to learn this
the hard way! A Korbat will go hunting if it is necessary, but they don’t like
it, like the Nimmo they will eat Insect PetPets, but only if it is necessary
for survival.
Lenny: The Lenny has been hunted by the Grarrl and Eyrie, but they are rarely
if ever caught, there intelligence and knowledge of the way things work always
get them out of a Jam, this isn’t well known but a Lenny that runs can run at
amazing speeds, when it has too, like the Korbat it will eat the odd Insect
Petite but very rarely.
Wocky: The Wocky is a NeoPet that nobody knows much about, it has only recently
started to be studied, However the Wocky has been known to feast on the Hopso,
Babaa and Snorkle to name a few, however the Wocky are a happy NeoPet and only
hunt PetPets a certain time of the year in winter, where food is not as easy
to get. The Wocky is not prey, being to defend itself easily.
Bruce: The Bruce is unfortunately prey, Eyries have been known to swoop on
poor unsuspecting Bruces, however the Bruce is not completely defenseless being
able to use there flipper like arms to slap away at things.
Kiko: Another pet that is unfortunately Prey, the Jetsam would love nothing
better than to bite into a juicy Kiko, yet Kikos have the uncanny ability to
be there one minute and disappear the next, maybe a topic that can be explained
better by a fellow scientist, that knows more about Marine NeoPets?
Kau: The Kau are not predator but like the Korbat Predator NeoPets have been
know to attack a Kau and find out what those horns are for the hard way, they
eat grasses and all types of vegetables, fruit and greens, The Kaus can defend
themselves easily being able to run at great speeds and ram things with there
horns.
Usul: The Little Usul is not predator and very rarely Prey, if attacked the
Usul can easily defend themselves using there paws to punch and there sharp
teeth to bite, a fact that not many people know is that the Usuls tail can be
used as a weapon, domesticated Usuls have forgotten the secret art of there
tails. They feast of berries and fruit, high up in the trees.
Aisha: If an Aisha is attacked by a predator NeoPets trying to eat them, then
they have made a big mistake, the wild NeoPets all have the instinctive knowledge
to stay away from a wild Aisha, they can extend strong sharp claws when angry
and there teeth are as sharp as knifes, they also have the ability to use ancient
magic, there hearing makes it impossible to sneak up on, however the Aisha has
been known to fish for pepitos, Catamaras, Bowlas, Leeble and most other marine
PetPets, they find them a yummy delicacy.
Chia: What can I say about the Chias that most people don’t already know, there
are so few wild Chias left, they are hunted by Lupes, Eyries, Grarrls, Skeiths
and even Kougra. Another unknown fact is that wild Chias have the ability to
curl themselves up into small balls to protect themselves, unfortunately some
of the wild Lupes and other NeoPets have learnt to simply eat the ball!
Eyrie: The Eyrie is also a creature not many know about, but due to my findings
we have learnt they do hunt on occasion hunting for: Meercas, Chias, Usul and
even the odd Pteri, however they will eat berries and fruit most of the time,
only hunting if they have babies. They also love the taste of PetPets, but because
they are small they are harder to catch.
Tuskaninny: The Tuskaninny, has been hunted in the past by Jetsam’s, but the
Tuskaninny can defend itself using it’s flipper to smack away Jetsam’s, The
Tuskaninny eats sea weeds, fruit and berries, usually leaving PetPets alone.
Flotsam: The flotsam has a lot in common to the Tuskaninny, usually feasting
on Seaweed and berries, however they have been known to hunt for smaller marine
PetPets such as the Peo and Pepito.
Jetsam: What can I say the Jetsam is a true blue predator hunting on anything
it can find, However the Jetsam, can be persuaded to let it’s prey go, if they
put up a good case.
Kacheek: The Kacheek is prey, Eyries, Grarrls and Lupes often hunt for Kacheeks,
but they can run away at amazing speeds to get away, they have many talents
such as digging and climbing trees to get away from a predator, they like to
eat fruits, greens and strangely flowers!
Uni: The Uni is neither predator nor Prey, it can defend itself by kicking
out with their hind hooves, and battering NeoPets with there small but muscular
wings.
Buzz: The Buzz is not hunted, they have the reputation of having a very bad
taste, the Buzz can defends itself very well, the Buzz eats fruit but will hunt
the odd Petite where there are no fruit growing, but only the tiny PetPets.
Lupe: Once again there is nothing I can say that everyone doesn’t already know!
The Lupe hunts Chias as it’s favorite food, but the extremely intelligent Lupe
will also eat PetPets and other NeoPets such as the Meerca and Pteri, PetPets
include Angelpuss, Warfs, Cheezoom and Mallard.
Elephante: The Elephante are not predators or prey, they can defend themselves
extremely well (that is if any NeoPet is dumb enough to try and eat them!) They
eat fruit and greens and live in harmony with all the Creatures in Neopia, possibly
The Elephante are the grandest and smartest of all the Pets!
Gelert: The Gelert is not prey, but it the wild Gelert will hunt, they have
a special taste for Angelpuss, they also on occasion hunt for fish, they enjoy
the a fruit hear and there, but absolutely love Meat!
Mynci: The Mynci eats fruit an vegetables, they don’t have to hunt, and there
not hunted very often, the odd Eyrie may swoop on a Mynci, but the Wild Mynci
live in family groups, they can always depend on there family to help out.
Kyrii: The Kyrii eats fruit and vegetable like the Mynci they are not attacked
living in packs they can always depend on others, Kyrii will hunt insect PetPets
on occasion.
Peophin: Read Flotsam! The Peophin have a lot in common with the Flotsam and
Uni, they don’t hunt and can protect themselves against Jetsams, like the Aisha,
all predators know not to try the Peophin.
Quiggle: The Quiggle does not hunt, but they are the target for predators,
they also have a lot in common with the Nimmo, some say the Quiggle and the
Nimmo are related, and the Petite Greeble and Frogarott are related, hopefully
some other people and NeoPets will be doing some study on this subject??? Hint…
Hint.
Shoyru: The Shoyru have a lot in common with the Scorchio, they will hunt if
they need to and will only eat insect PetPets, they usually eat fruit and vegetables,
they can defend themselves if a NeoPet does attack which is a rare, they seem
to have an understanding with predator NeoPets, just like the Peophin and Aisha.
Acara: The Acara is hunted they can usually make a speedy getaway, they usually
eat vegetable and fruit.
Zafara: The Zafara is rarely hunted and when it is the Zafara can vanish before
the Predator knows what happened! The Zafara also enjoys feasting off Insect
PetPets, it will fish also for a special treat.
Blumaroo: The Blumaroo has been the target of some Predators however the predator
would not get too far, little know how ferocious a Blumaroo can actually become
if insulted, ever heard the old saying “Never laugh at a Blumaroo”? Well know
you know why, there tail and feet can lash out and hit with such strength and
might, they are also able to jump high into the air. Blumaroo don’t hunt, they
eat all fruit and Vegetable.
Techo: The Techo is hunted but never caught, they can defend themselves, and
run, climb and hide themselves amazingly, the Techos eat berries and fruit.
Moehog: Like the Kau the Moehog is not a creature to mess with, it’s dopey
appearance make some creatures attack the Moehogs but they soon find out, what
a Moehog can actually do, they kick out with there hind legs, bite and use there
strong tusks, he Moehogs eat the same food as a Kau does.
Cybunny: The Cybunny is also hunted, but like many other NeoPets it has a timid,
shy and innocent appearance, but it’s not initially true, Cybunny are among
some of the fastest NeoPets in Neopia! they can dash here and there, and heave
learnt to weave, confusing an attacker, they can bite with there sharp teeth
and take an arm off! There strong hind legs can also kick with great accuracy
and strength, they don’t hunt, but eat berries and grass.
Poogle: The Poogle is famous for its amazingly strong and sharp teeth, the
Poogle is hunted but all the Poogle has to do to escape is flash their sharp
teeth to make a predator run away screaming, the Poogle eats Fruit and Vegetables
and has been known to eat the odd Petite.
Kougra: The Kougra, does not hunt, although it has a predators appearance,
it eats a whole array of Mystery Island fruit, no creatures hunt the Kougra
either, its sharp claws, teeth and speed makes it one of the strongest NeoPets
in Neopia!
Grundo: There is no such thing as a wild Grundo, although a small colony of
Grundos live without owners at the VirtuPets Space Station, Grundos are basically
little people! They will eat anything as long as it looks and taste tasty, they
don’t hunt.
Koi: The Koi is unfortunately Prey, although a Koi is very rarely caught, after
the terrible destruction of Maraqua few Koi exist in the wild, wild Koi colonies
have not been seen since the destruction of Maraqua, Koi the masters of Defense,
can defend themselves easily, they are intelligent and very fast in the water,
the Koi live in harmony with the Marine PetPets and only eat on Special Neopian
Seaweed and underwater fruits.
Meerca: The tiny Meerca is prey unfortunately, they are however extremely fast
and smart, able to manipulate and cheek there way out of danger, Meerca eat
fruits and berries, LOTS OF FRUIT!
Chomby: Chombys eat greens, such as grass, leafs, Vegetables and fruit, All
wild predator NeoPets know to stay away from a Chomby. A Chombys friendly smiled
make the Chomby look slightly innocent and weak, but has anyone seen a mad Chomby?
It is anything but weak and innocent, one whack from the tail, and you would
be flying through the air! The Chomby also has a hard Skull able to headbutt
without feeling anything!
Pteri: The Pteri, is hunted by Eyries, but the Pteri's speed and agility make
it hard to catch, the Pteri is extremely smart and is able to maneuver through
the air with ease, they eat fruit berries and Insect PetPets.
OK that’s all my finding on Predator or Prey but once again please note, this
does not mean your NeoPet is going to attack it’s brother of Sister or eat it’s
Petite! This is an observation of Wild NeoPets. |
