Your Daily Regime by dbriley1 | |
So your computer time is precious, and you only have a little while to play
in Neopia. What should you do to make the most of it? Here's a list of daily
tasks to make your visit efficient and productive.
The first thing you should do after you log in (you did log out after your
last session, right?) is go to Pet Central and do a Quick Ref on your pets.
After all, they're why we're here, and we must care for them properly. Are they
hungry? Bored? Injured? Make a note of it, but DON'T DO ANYTHING YET. I'll explain
this as we go.
Now, click the News button in your yellow bar. It's important to keep up on
the latest developments in Neopia, you know!
Next, go to the bank and collect the interest on your account. (You do have
an account, right? It's free money you're missing out on if you don't have one.)
Then go to your items, and if you're carrying anything, put it in your shop
or stash it in your deposit box. We're going exploring, and you must not carry
anything with you, lest the Pant Devil attack and steal your hard-earned items.
We're going to start and end in Faerieland. Spin the Wheel of Excitement. (The
Pant Devil is on the wheel, which is exactly why you empty your pockets before
you go.) After that, we're going to go clockwise around the world. Hit the Lost
Desert next, and spin the Fruit Machine wheel. You get one free spin a day,
as it says, so what are you waiting for? While you're in the Lost Desert, go
to Coltzan's Shrine. Wonderful things can happen to your pet there, and it's
also completely free!
Next up is the Haunted Woods. Go see the Witch and see if she's got a decent
quest for you. If the items she asks for cost more than a couple hundred NP,
collectively, then don't do it. The payoff is rarely worth it. She'll give you
maybe 57 NP and a cookie or something.
After that, visit Terror Mountain. Go through the cave and see if the Snowager
is asleep. If he is, try and grab a toy. If not, proceed up to the mountain
and see if the Snow Faerie is being reasonable. Lately she's being greedy. If
she asks for motes, faeries, or any of the ridiculously expensive chocolates,
and she almost always does these days, then don't do the quest. If the items
collectively cost more than 1000 NP, it probably won't be worth it either. It's
disappointing, because her quests used to be my favourites, but then she started
asking for motes and faeries all the time. Sigh.
Next, hit Tyrannia and spin the Wheel of Mediocrity, and then grab some omelette.
It's free food, for cryin' out loud. How can you pass that up?
Then there's Mystery Island. Once again, the Kitchen has quests, but this is
difficult to advise upon, because the chef often increases your pets' stats.
It depends on how much you want to spend on that kind of thing. If you never
fight and you don't care about your pets' levels, then these quests probably
aren't for you. The chef does sometimes give out items or NP, but that's rare.
I usually draw the line at about 1000 NP for the items he wants. If you're desperate
to get your pets faster or stronger, then okay, keep doing these, but even if
you are that desperate, try and keep the shopping list total under 5000 NP.
Remember, you can get stats increased at Coltzan's Shrine or at the Training
School and Academy, too.
Before you leave the island, don't forget to spin the Tombola! You always get
at least a little NP, even if you just get a lousy palm fan or something for
a booby prize. If you get a winning ticket, you could even get a codestone and
a paint brush! Good luck!
Now we're going to end our world tour again in Faerieland, and this time we're
going to the Healing Springs. You see, there are opportunities to get injured
at the wheels of chance and the Snowager, so if you got hurt along the way,
this is your time to get healed up. Plus, if your pets were hungry, the faerie
might make them full up again. (See? We didn't forget about those rumbling tummies!)
If the faerie heals them and fills them up, you're good to go. If not, feed
your pets. (You can use that omelette you just picked up! And maybe the Tombola
gave you some food too!)
But wait, we're not done quite yet. Play Kiko Match, because it's easy money
and those three games take maybe three minutes of your time. Check your shop
and withdraw from your till. Go shopping, if you're going to complete any quests,
and bring your stuff back to whoever asked for it. If you're in a guild, check
in and see if there's any news you should know about.
If you still have some time, then you can do a Treasure Hunt and get a free
map piece, which sells for a few thousand NPs, and play any other games that
tickle your fancy.
Otherwise, deposit any extra NP you've got on you in the bank, so you'll get
that much more interest tomorrow. Then log out. Don't forget that part!
There, you've attended to your pets and hit all the freebies and easy money
spots, and you still have time for lunch, you busy person, you. :) |
