The Legend of Wesley Clearheart

by Light_faerie143

"You will remain home, Liana," said the King, ending the argument. King Peter and Queen Dana, two royal Shoyrus, ruled a small country in Neopia, named Grecia. Going back almost eleven generations, the whole family had controlled the beautiful land. King Peter was a strong yet sometimes daft, Fire Shoyru; Queen Dana was a fair Striped Shoyru from Terror Mountain. Together, they had a young and fearless daughter named Liana, who had been born as a Purple coloured princess.

The royal family was very respected by their Kingdom's subjects, and they had no enemies. Or so they thought...

"Your father's right, dear. We'll only be out of Grecia for a week, but we'll be back, promise!" Dana said, trying to negotiate with her daughter.

"But Mummy, Father, I want to go with you! I want to go see the ruins of Maraqua, please?" begged Liana.

"No, and that's final," King Peter said firmly.

"Fine! But what am I supposed to do while you're gone, huh? Knit?" said Liana.

"Yes, of course, anything you want, pumpkin!" King Peter said dumbly, ignoring the fact that his daughter was being sarcastic.

"The buggy is here, sir and fair lady. May I escort you, Majesties?" the Gelert butler said. Within two minutes, the King and Queen had said their good-byes and left. "Oh, what a week it's gonna be!" Liana said sorrowfully, "Nothing to do but watch the servants work and knit. Princess Margriet and Countess Anabelle are gone too. Deary me, no one to play or talk with! Hmm, it's almost two o' clock. I'll go to the Kitchens and tell the servants to prepare the tea. I just hope I'll find someone to have my tea with…"

After a bout in the Kitchens, the Shoyru princess sat down in her favorite chair in front of the window in the Stateroom. She watched as all the Pteri flew how free they were! Not trapped in a castle like her. She had never been let out of the castle gates, for she knew that her parents were too protective. But only to have some fun once in awhile! But then she saw--the window was open! This was a once in a lifetime chance. She could easily fly out the window, and meet up with her parents at the ruins! It wasn't that far away, it would only take an hour or two, and she knew that her parents couldn't possibly send her back, not after she went that far! She looked around, saw nobody in the room, and crept out of the Stateroom.

So this was how it was like to be free! Her wings hadn't been used for flying in such a long time! She didn't even mind that her satin dress was keeping her from flying at full speed. She flew for quite a while, and her wings were getting tired, but still she didn't stop, until she finally reached the Ruins. But something mysterious was floating around the Ruins…

Suddenly, a black ball zoomed straight at Liana's face, nearly breaking her beautiful complexion. It disappeared into the clouds, as Liana surveyed. But oh no! Her wings gave way and she was now darting straight to the ocean! Liana was so scared, all she could think about was whether she'd survive or not. *SPLASH* She was now in the ocean! As she had freedom in the kingdom, she didn't know how to swim. She could feel the salty sea water pouring into her throat. But for some reason, she was being pulled upwards.

"Oi mateys! Lookee here at woot I caught here in the fishies net!" cried a pirate-like voice. Liana was terribly frightened now. Pirates were capturing her! Using her wings, she tried to escape, but failed, because her wings were stuck inside the tangled strings of the net.

"Ahoy! Eeet's an ickle damsel in distress, me boys!"

"Yer right, Bug Eye! She's almost as purty as those Fontaine Sisters, wouldn'tcha say?"

"Huh? Where ees the ickle gurl, huh? I wanna see!"

"Awww, Samuel, ye know yer blind, now shut up!"

"Leave me alone! Go away!" cried Princess Liana.

"C'mon boys, yer scared the poor ickle thing! Move back now, that's it!" But the crowd just kept on getting bigger; almost all of the ship members were just trying to see Liana.

"Woot's all this commotion here, mateys? Move aside! Let me see what yer all talkin' bout!" A skeleton, or a Kiko, or whatever you called the grotesque creature had floated up to Liana, carrying a bottle of rum and smelling like a pig's pen. "So, you're the thing Glug Glug Jones caught, eh? Ye little Shoyru, aren'tcha?" said the ugly creature, saying his words so harshly that Liana could smell the awful rum from his breath. "I hearda ye, yer parents rule Grecia, eh? A fine ickle country I do except, an excellent capture for meh! Har har har! Aye mateys, tie this little lady to the post over there, tha's it!"

"HELP!!! SOMEBODY SAVE ME!!!" yelled Princess Liana. But there was no one around; no one that could rescue her. The ropes that were binding her were also very tight, she couldn't escape either. Hours went by. Her parents hadn't arrived yet, at least that's what Glug Glug Jones was saying. "Arrr, Cap'n Dread, I dun fink those Kings and Queens are gonna come!" the Kyrii cried out.

"Oi, I'm getting bored too. I dun care bout that Grecia anymore, let's just let her walk the plank!" cried Captain Dread. Yells of agreement followed his idea.

Tears were falling at amazing speed down Liana's face. She was going to die, at such a young age! Unbinding the ropes, the pirates then chained her to a metal weight on her feet. "Walk down now, ickle Pwincess! If ye don't, Uncle Cap'n Dread's gonna push yer! Har Har Har Har!!!" the leader laughed as he drank more rum. Moving as slow as could, Liana edged more and more on the small piece of wood used as a plank. All of a sudden, a loud whistle broke all the agitation between the Pirates. A large golden Airax soared down, taunting the pirates, its strong beak and talons wounding them. Swinging down, a blue blur that looked like a Shoyru picked up Liana and led her to safety.

"OH NO! EET'S WESLEY CLEARHEART! RUUUN!" cried the many pirates.

"Don't mess with me, Captain Dread! Hurting young Shoyru ladies like this beautiful one will only get you in more trouble! Begone!" said Wesley Clearheart bravely.

Soon all of the pirates were off of the ship, some of them had jumped off into the ocean and starting swimming.

"Y-y-your Wesley Clearheart? Wow! I actually get to meet you! I mean, you rescued me!" stuttered the Princess.

"It's my duty, um, oh, I guess I haven't caught your name yet."

"Princess Liana, Mr. Clearheart."

"Oh yes, Princess Liana, saving Neopians as yourself is just my morning job. When I heard you cry for help, I immediately sent my Airax, Legend, ahead to delay the pirates, while I was following right behind him."

"Thank you so much, Wesley, really, thank you! But oh, where are my parents?"

"They had arrived shortly after you did. That canon ball that was aimed at you, it landed right where their ship was, causing them to fly back home. They didn't get to see the Ruins after all."

"Oh okay. But how am I going to get home? My wings are far too damaged now, and it's a fuss at flying with what's left of my dress."

"Who says you need to fly? I'm going to take you home with this ship!" Clearheart said as he smiled. And so they lived happily ever after!
