I was surprised when that old Aisha at the fair summoned
me from the back of the crowd, apart from the eager children up in front. I stood
slowly, realizing that this wasn't going to be the afternoon I had planned out.
It was a long way to the front, but I sighed and started walking up to the front,
as the Aisha beckoned me to do so. I was halfway to the front when I REALLY saw
her.
She was old yet seemed young, ugly yet she seemed
beautiful in a way I never thought possible. It was too late to turn back, so
I had no choice but to go up to the girl. When I got there, she turned her cold
eyes away from the crowd and laid them on me. Then she suddenly spoke and said,
“I will read this young Lupe’s mind.”
At first I thought she was kidding, then she
motioned for me to put up my paw.
Really… I thought. Like THIS is going
to work. The Aisha smiled and turned to me.
“So the young Lupe doesn’t believe me, does
he?” She turned and waved to the crowd. “I’ll show him!” The crowd cheered a
yipped as if there were no tomorrow.
She stared at me, so I reluctantly put my
paw up. Had I said that out loud? I thought
She held it in her small, shriveled paw and
I began to shudder. I didn’t know why, it’s as if a cold wind suddenly blew
in my direction. But the air was calm and warm.
Weird… it was probably just a draft.
All of a sudden, my head started to hurt and
the fairgrounds were spinning around. I fainted.
When I woke up there were people and voices
crowded around me. The old Aisha was one of them.
“Now, now,” she said. “Leave the poor boy some
air! I have yet to fully predict!” I was too dazed to understand what she meant.
The crowd backed away and she took my paw in her paw. She shrieked and slowly
calmed down.
“Young Lupe,” she said, “come with me.” She
helped me up and led me to her home. The crowd stared back in amazement. As
we entered her home she went to her oven and heated up the kettle. She pulled
two chairs up to the small wooden table beside the refrigerator. She sat down
as well as myself, being easygoing and not knowing what was coming up. There
were a few minutes of silence as she poured the boiling hot water into mugs.
“Green tea or Herbal tea, dear?” she asked,
with a fake smile plastered on her smug face.
“Green tea, please,” my voice echoed through
the half empty room.
A few moments later she sat down and said, “Be
careful and wait a few minutes to drink that, sir.”
“Please call me, Jeran.” I took a sip of my tea.
She looked at me and said, “Young Lupe, I mean
Jeran, if that IS your name, what I have seen in your future is-“ She stopped
and rephrased it. “You have a glorious, yet dangerous future ahead of you.”
I slowly put my mug down and stared. “What do
you mean? Oh, tell me what you mean!” I asked, wide-eyed with excitement and
fear. The Aisha turned her head and stared out the window; crowds of Neopets
walked by.
“First, my young friend, let me explain something…
something important, something you NEED to know in the future to survive.” She
went to her bookshelf and took out a rather old-looking book with a leathery
cover. It had gold writing on the front in some foreign language that I didn't
understand. She put it on the table and opened it. An evil smile alit over her
PRECIOUS face. Pictures of a glorious land stood before me, with lush trees
and luxurious meadows.
“Wow…” I cried, in a daze. “Where is that place?”
She flipped to another page that showed a Skeith, dressed in fancy and expensive
clothing, sitting on the throne. She turned to other pages, with farmers and
berry patches. But there was one I liked remarkably, was a faerie, who went
by the name of Illusen.
There was a horrible picture, which the Aisha
stopped at. It was gigantic, dark citadel, hovering over the vast meadows. She
raised her voice and said, “You must never go there! It's bad, and dark, and
gloomy!”
“Why?” I cried. “I love it there already! I
saw the pictures, it wasn't bad or dark or gloomy?!” She turned to me. I just
noticed her face had resembled that of a faerie’s, and I was in awe. I noticed
features that I had never noticed before."That's right little Lupe," she said,
singing a beautiful song. I fell into a trance. All of a sudden, a weird chanting
came from outside. It was my sister, Lisha. Lisha had been my friend (and sister),
ever since I could remember.
“What are you doing, Lisha?” I screamed, running
to the door. She was screaming at the top of her lungs in some weird language
which I had never heard before in my life.
The Aisha hissed and covered her ears. There
was a blinding flash. Then I realized beautiful Aisha was no longer beautiful,
but had transformed into horrible, mutant beast. I ran outside, screaming. Lisha
grabbed my hand but the crowds split us apart. At the time, I was SURE Lisha
was behind me, but she was gone. I looked around and started to weep. I had
just lost my sister. And before me lay the land that I had seen in the book
that Aisha had showed me in her home. Soon found out that it was called, it
was called Meridell.
I have now become a warrior, brave and strong.
I have a wonderful life. There is only one thing missing, one thing I need.
I need Lisha, my sister, Lisha, who was kind and strong, beautiful and elegant.
I NEED her to help me, guide me through my troubles. Ever since I lost her I’ve
been troubled and sad, yet I have not found her. Hopefully she is looking for
me. I’ve been to busy saving peasants and princesses to realize that fame is
not what I need. I need her! Lisha… Lisha! My beautiful Lisha! Where are you?

the Court Dancer. Wars one 5. Wars lost 0. The content is before Lisha found

talking with Lisha or fighting battles that he never has time to write anymore!
I end with the wise and noble words of Jeran the Lupe: A war, be not a war without
hatred, yet a war be not a war without love. For how could someone defend something
they hate with all their heart? One more short thing to all Readers: The world
isn't such a terrible place, so get out there and explore! maybe you will find
