The Best Adventure Spots in Neopia: Krawk Island by neo_star_queen | |
THE GOLDEN DUBLOON - Ahoy there mateys! Arrr, today I be exploring Krawk
Island! Arr-rrr… rrrr… Hmm, I should probably brush up on my pirate talk.
It's a bit dim in here, so I'm finding it hard to tell if that pirate just spilt
grog on me or not… oh well. My Forbidden Plunder ice cream already got knocked
over on my pants a while ago by some pirates involved in a little scuffle, so
I guess it doesn't make much of a difference. I'll just be going off to get myself
another dessert, so in the meantime, why don't you read my latest adventuring
guide, savvy?
And I'm making a bit of a change… the Skill Level will now be rated from 1-10,
1 being the easiest, and 10 being the hardest. I just found that 'intermediate'
didn't say as much as I wanted it to.
Smugglers Cove: This is arguably one of the best places to adventure
on Krawk Island. It's quite well hidden though, so listen closely to the directions:
Carefully climb down the steep cliff to the north of the island, and walk along
the beach until you find 3 palm trees in a row. The cave behind them is Smugglers
Cove! Now once you're inside, it's all up to you how you want to explore.
The cave is underground, and it has many different tunnels for you to choose
from. It's not usually dangerous as there aren't any other living beings down
there most of the time, but if you have bad timing (like me), you may end up
bumping into some pirates… Skill Level: 4-7
The Pirate Ships: Now, there are 3 main pirate ships regularly harbored
near Krawk Island. One of them is the small one that you play Deck
Ball on. It's pretty safe, and although there's not much to do on it, it's
good for beginners to explore. Skill Level: 2-3. Another ship is the
grand ship with the tall white sails near the academy, where Deckswabber
is usually played. This is quite a large ship so there are many rooms to discover,
although it's not dangerous either, as the pirates aboard are rather kind and
friendly. Umm… when a pirate makes you walk the plank, that means he's being
kind and friendly, doesn't it? Ahh, maybe it's just me. Skill Level:
2-3
The Hut on the Island: You've seen it before, haven't you? Maybe you
noticed it while you were looking out the windows of the training academy, or
you might've zoomed by it while playing Dubloon Disaster, but surely you've
seen this little hut before, and maybe you've wondered what it is. Why would
anyone want to live so far away from the village? Well Neofaerie and I checked
it out, and it seems that someone does live here… but he or she wasn't at home
when we visited. It looks like the home of a hermit, if you ask me… Skill
Level: 2-4, but you never know when whoever lives there might pop up…
The Vast Seas: Well now, what kind of pirate would you be if you didn't
have a few adventures out on the open seas? Firstly, if you don't have a ship
or a boat, rent one from the Armada shack. Boats cost 100 NPs, small ships cost
500 NPs, and medium-sized ships cost 1000 NPs. Then, you multiply by how many
days you'll be renting it (for example, if you rented a small ship for 3 days
it would be 1500 NPs). Make sure you have everything required for your trip,
and then your free to sail off towards the horizon, feeling the wind whip through
your hair/fur… what? Oh sorry, I'm daydreaming again. I'm quite certain now
that someone did spill grog on me; I believe I'm stuck to my seat… Skill
Level: 4-10. It all depends on how far out you're going, what the weather's
like, how long you'll be out, etc.
Hannah's Pirate Caves: You've sat safe in your Neohome, playing this
game, and now it's time to play the real thing. Dodging arrows and falling rocks,
blasting your way through steel boxes, climbing ladders, swimming underwater…
this is gonna be one heck of a ride. You might even find a bit of treasure!
In my opinion, these ancient caves are the best place on all of Krawk Island
to explore. No serious adventurer should call themselves one before they've
tried Hannah's Pirate
Caves. Skill Level: 6-10
Hold on, we're not done yet! Did you really think I'd let you go skipping
off recklessly to Krawk Island before getting some tips first? I hope not!
- When on Krawk Island, speak like the pirates do! Arrr! *cough cough hack
wheeze*
- If you visit the Golden
Dubloon, here is a list of things I don't recommend ordering: Double Stuffed
Guppy (twice the fish, twice the horror, twice the disgust), Cap'n Threelegs
Cutlass Crusade (has this been properly cooked?), Bilge Rat Madeira (eww!),
Squid on a Stick (it's purple and pink. Purple and pink), and Slithering Squid
Surprise (what else in here other than squid?).
- A lot of pirates are easily roused, and just looking for a fight, so watch
out! Do not meddle in the affairs of pirates, for they are one-eyed and carry
sharp swords…
- All in all, Krawk Island is a pretty dangerous place. Sudden, random attacks
aren't really unusual, so you'll have to be constantly alert! Make sure that
young or weak pets (or owners!) don't venture here on their own.
Well, that concludes another adventuring guide. Remember: the author is not
in any way responsible for any harm that comes from following this guide. Adventure
at your own risk! Come back next time, when Neofaerie and I visit Faerieland!
Farewell 'ter later, ya scurvy dogs! *cough* I mean… bye…
Today's random adventuring tip: Risk-taking and trying new things is a big
part of adventuring (and life!). If you always play it safe, you'll never get
anywhere.
Author's Note: Hi everyone, just wanted to remind you that not all of these
places can actually be located on the Neopets maps. I try to link the places
that you can actually get to.
