Doumeh sent it out towards Keira. It locked her paws onto
the ground, she couldn't move. Nick went to save his friend. "No, Nick! NO!" screamed
Keira. This got everyone's attention. Nick pushed Keira out of the way just in
time, but in doing so, he took the blow. He blasted out of the window, leaving
the room filled with smoke. It cleared quickly.
Laura stood up on the balcony in shock. Darren
and Keira who were on either side of the blast, stared at each other.
"Doumeh, you're going to pay for that," said
Darren in his scariest voice. He spread his wings and leapt into the air, heading
for the balcony.
"Lets bring 'em down Keira," he said while passing
her. Keira gathered herself together and decided to give it all she had. She
and Doumeh sent out small, but powerful spells at each other. They both blocked
each other's attacks. "Do you see their necklaces there?" said Laura. She and
Darren were debating on what to do.
"Yeah, those are the Darigan Orb piece's right?"
replied Darren, dodging a spark heading toward him. "Cedric must be crazy, taking
out his power so soon. He must have not been able to stand much more."
"Just maybe…" said Laura gripping an arrow.
"If I can manage to get their Darigan necklaces, we can reduce their power.
Oh, if only I could get a good shot…"
"Let's go for it!" said Darren.
He, with Laura on his back, glided around the
room with Cedric chasing them. Laura steadied her bow and arrow, she knew this
would be done with pure luck because the orb shards were so small, and she was
moving the whole time. -FLING-
An arrow was off, heading for Cedric below.
He had just jumped towards them when the arrow was sent. It hit his Darigan
orb piece, and exploded into little bits. The arrow didn't hit him, but indeed
gave him a shock.
Cedric fell to the floor, still awake but lying
now near the kitchen doors. "Time for you Doumeh!" said Darren, still in the
air. He grabbed onto the large unlit chandelier, keeping as steady as possible
for Laura. She grabbed an arrow and sent it out, just as she was about to fall
off. The arrow headed toward Keira, she dodged it saying, "Hey! Watch it!"
Darren caught Laura and set her back on the
chandelier. She sent out her next arrow. "This one's for Nick!" she yelled as
it headed straight for Doumeh, breaking his orb piece and scattering it everywhere.
He caught it just before it pierced his fur, throwing it onto the ground. "I'll
deal with you two later," he said. Darren and Laura stood next to Keira now,
ready to fight.
"Doumeh there's one thing you should know,"
said Keira. "Never mess with MY FRIENDS!" With that, she made the most powerful
spell.
The patterns on her necklace glowed brightly.
Doumeh made almost exactly the same spell, therefore making a large color of
light in the room. Keira's side was white, while the king's was purple. The
center was the two spells colliding, which produced a dark black mark. The slight
wind from the immense spell ruffled their fur.
"He's getting stronger!" said Keira to her friends.
Then saying to her alone, "I wish my mom were here." She suddenly felt her side
stronger, looking over to her left she saw Queen Aurora. Her mother smiled at
her as she helped with the spell. With Keira's friends beside her, she had the
confidence to take Doumeh down.
Her spell overpowered Doumeh's, and eventually
consumed him. The room went dark, and the spell was finished. The room came
back to life again when the fire re-lit itself by magic.
"WOOHOO!" said Darren happily. "We did it! We
destroyed Doumeh!!" He and Laura high-fived each other then danced around in
victory. Keira hugged her mom, and laughing, and too celebrated.
Moments later, Cedric woke up with a moan, "My
back! Oh my back…" He turned to the others, his once deep red eyes now golden.
"I don't mean to ruin your celebration, but we've still got a lot on our hands.
We have to stop Ara from getting out of the city. She has the key now, remember?"
Although Cedric was knocked out, he was still completely aware of what was going
on.
Laura walked to one of the windows, "We should
get moving. The citizens are getting packed up!" She grabbed her bow and arrow
and headed for the door with Darren.
"Hey, wait," said Cedric behind them. "Let me
come, I know the city better then anyone." Darren nodded, and together they
left the castle to try and stop Ara. Queen Aurora and princess Keira still were
in the dining room. They sat next to the king, waiting for him to wake up.
"Are you sure Keira?" said the queen.
"Yes, positive. The island native said that
he would return to normal when we defeated the evil in him."
He woke up minutes later, his battle scars fading.
"Victor?" spoke Aurora softly. "Is it you?"
The king opened his deep green eyes, and gave
a warm smile to the two of them saying, "Why would you think otherwise?"

Darren, Laura, and Cedric got back the crystal tooth and were now in the entrance
hall with the royal family. They told them how their battle went, and of course,
Darren exaggerated a bit. Earlier, King Victor sent the scattered Darigan orb
pieces to King Skarl, to be put with the whole of the orb. "Well," said the
king. "It's awfully dark in here, how about we lighten it up a bit?"
With a simple wave of his paws, the whole castle
returned to it's beautiful self. Everything looked shiny and new, even the guards
looked better. The castle was lit with chandeliers and wall lights, as it was
still dark outside. They chatted away, until there was a knock at the door.
Four knocks in fact. Victor opened the door, while the others stood at the bottom
of the staircase.
"Good evening to you," said the island native
at the door. "I would first like to congratulate you on your victorious battle,
that was a good one… yes, indeed. I should also let you know, about your friend
Nick. He would do anything to protect his friends.
"That, to me, is what friendship is about. Therefore,
you will be pleased to know, I have a surprise for you." He opened the doors
wider, and standing next to him was Nick, looking better then ever. Darren,
Keira, and Laura went to give him a hug. "The old reviving trick, eh?" said
the king.
"Well," replied the native. "I was walking and
heard him crash out of the window above, caught him just before he hit the ground.
Though I did use a bit of reviving." He chuckled afterwards.
"Native, will you please join us in a royal
feast?" said Aurora kindly.
"It would be an honor, your highness," he replied.

After dinner, they sat in a large family room, which had a balcony. The roaring
fire warmed them as they chatted away. The king, queen, and native sat near
the fire talking and laughing together, while the teens chatted next to the
balcony. The whole time, they talked only about the battle.
"Dawn approaches," said the native. Everyone
got up and walked to the large balcony. It had an amazing view of the city,
still filled with dung. Surprisingly, the whole city was up at this hour, probably
to see the sunrise. It rose and filled the half cloudy sky with morning colors.
To everyone's surprise, when the sun poured through the city, everything returned
to normal. The dung melted away, disappearing once touching the ground.
From the balcony, you could hear the crowd cheering.
The dung buildings turned into bamboo buildings, with plants growing at rapid
paces all around the city. And finally, the grand doors opening, they were no
longer trapped. "Mom?" asked Keira. "When you helped me with that spell, how
did you know I needed you?"
"Well then," replied Aurora. "You asked for
me. Remember? That was how you could get me out of the tallest tower… but if
I told you, I would remain trapped forever."
"Hey," said Nick. "What happened to Dr. Sloth
and Ara?"
The island native simply said, "Evacuated."
They watched the city return to normal with
a smile.
"Wait a second," spoke Keira. "This isn't Smellyworld…
right? It can't be, because it's a jungle city."
"Ah, yes," said the island native laughing.
"You did not find Smellyworld."
THE END… or is it?
