Kudio's Don't Trick-Or-Treat There Guide by roxycaligirl101 | |
HAUNTED WOODS - My sister Roxy (an advice columnist) for The Neopian Times
wanted to write a guide for the spookiest holiday around, but she wasn't sure
what she could tell people. She knew this was my area of expertise and decided
to let my grab the pen for this week. My name is Kudio a magical Bruce and Roxy's
brother. I love magic, candy and Halloween. A time of ghouls, magic, pranks,
costumes, parties, mischief, mayhem, and TRICK-OR-TREATING! Trick-or-treating
is the best part of Halloween, in any world especially in Neopia. This article
will tell you exactly where you can do to get the best and most candy around!
Don't get your hopes up for me taking over completely Sloth, my sister will
be back next week with around dose of Dear Roxy! First of all, we have to do
a little safety check before we get to the good stuff... the candy!
-Never go trick-or-treating alone, always go with a large group of Neopets
or people including your parents or your owner! It's not a loser thing to have
your parents and/or your owner tag along, it could be worse you could have to
take Dr. Frank Sloth with you (no offense to Sloth)! Not only is it the safe
thing to do and the right thing to do but when you have pounds and pounds of
candy you can always use the extra help to lug your treasure back home!
-Everyone should bring a flashlight.
-Bring extra pillow cases/bags in case one breaks or you fill more than one.
-Wear a costume, you can't get the candy without a costume!!
-Be aware of your surroundings and keep your eyes open for witches, pranks,
out of control Unis, ghouls, Chet Flash, etc. Ask anyone all the weirdoes come
out on Halloween, so always use your best judgement and listen to your instincts.
If your gut is telling you not to trust someone or do something, listen to it
and get away from the situation by telling an adult, owner or older friend you
can trust.
-Never go into the house of anyone you don't know.
-Be polite to fellow trick-or-treaters and the people you receive candy from.
If you are in it for just the candy, but the nicer you are to the people that
open the doors. Politeness can go a long way and get you extra helpings of candy
in a single trip.
-Always have an adult or your owner check your candy before you dig in.
-Stay on well established roads and paths. Don't ever wander out into the woods
or any uncharted areas.
-Don't go to the same NeoHome twice.
-Be careful but try and have fun!
Now that is taken care of it's time to tell you the best places in the world
of Neopia to stop at on the night of Halloween.
Neopian Central- This is defiantly one of the number one best spots
to go trick-or-treating! If you are looking to collect the most candy, this
is the place to do it. There are millions of shops and houses all in a row and
open to all trick-or-treaters. In addition, you can always stop by the Chocolate
Factory and get free samples of unreleased goodies! Besides just getting candy
many shops offer toys, snacks, grooming items, etc. Last year, I went here I
scored not only three pillow cases full of just candy but dozen of grooming
items, toys, and other snacks. Haunted Houses and many carnivals are set up
all over the city, so there is always something to keep you busy if you are
into trick-or-treating or you if you need a break.
Haunted Woods- This is the headquarters for weirdness, mischief, and
creepyness. If you want to be scared of your wits you can venture to the Haunted
Woods for the best Haunted Houses in all of Neopia. In addition, you can chat
it up with real Ghosts (not just painted that way but actually dead Neopets)
and other weirdoes! The only problem is the trick-or-treating isn't so great
here, you'll probably get some really gross goodies. If you want your trick-or-treat
bag to be filled with Fish Pops, Almost Gummy Rats, and Chocolate Coated Eyes
then this your stop. If the weird, spooky, and gross isn't one of your favorite
things then you should stick clear of the Haunted Woods. Just a few safety reminders,
stick clear of wandering deep into the thicket of the woods and get out of the
Deserted Fairgrounds before midnight. I'm a wizard and I don't even like to
go there! In the Haunted Woods, you must really pay attention to your surroundings
and instincts because almost anything and everything can happen here (good and
bad).
Krawk Island- Pirates are really into the holiday of Halloween but
the Golden Dubloon does offer free holiday treats to those that stop by. Stick
clear of the Food Club, it any of the competing pirates get the scent of your
candy they will chase you down and steal it. Krawk Island in general is pretty
small and not a lot of places to stop and trick or treat. Most pirates don't
even celebrate the holiday to begin with anyway. If you want to go to Krawk
Island on Halloween I'd just stop off at the Golden Dubloon and then leave.
It's not worth your valuable trick-or-treating hours to search all night and
only end up with two pieces of candy.
Mystery Island- The natives on Mystery Island aren't real big fans
of candy although they do celebrate the holiday. Most of the time the natives
will choose to give away Tropical Fruits and Tiki Tack. Trick-or-treating on
Mystery Island is a great way to add to your island merchandise and food collection.
You will get some candy from a hut here or there but the majority of goodies
you get will be made or from the island. Mystery Island isn't my number one
stop for trick-or-treating but it is worth stopping by.
Vitrupet Space Station- Halloween isn't very well-celebrated here,
you defiantly won't see any orange and black decorations around this space station.
There aren't a lot of places you can stop at to go trick-or-treating and you
get the same thing from every door, cherries jubalee. If you really love the
cherries jubalee is your place to trick-or-treat but if you are allegoric to
cherries or jubalee stick clear!
Jelly World- Just kidding! I just wanted to make sure you were paying
attention to my guide and you weren't falling asleep. Everyone knows Jelly World
doesn't exist and you can't possibly trick-or-treat there!
Terror Mountain- Halloween is celebrated on Terror Mountain, Happy
Valley, and the Ice Caves. The only problem is hiking through all that snow
to go trick-or-treating. You get quite well rewarded though because the citizens
of Terror Mountain know how much effort it takes to go hiking through all that
snow and they usually give the double helpings of candy. If you fight through
the cold and snow you will be rewarded with great tasting and extra candy. I
wouldn't go and trick-or-treat from the Snowager though, he isn't exactly the
generous type if you get what I'm saying.
Tyrannia- If you say trick-or-treat in Tyrannian, which is not one
easy phrase you will get two things. Rock candy made of real rocks or rocks
hurled at you. Unless you are a big fan of stone, I would pass on the Tyrannian
trick-or-treating experience.
The Lost Desert- The Lost Desert love Halloween even though they don't
decorate everything with spooky decorations, they love to give away great goods.
When trick-or-treating you can get anything from a Mishaped Pot to Sphinx Links.
It's a great place to stop off, just try not to get sand inside your trick-or-treating
bag or pillow case. Sand really can ruin the taste of candy. Don't forget to
stop off a Coltzan's Shrine on Halloween night, he's supposed to be very generous
on any holiday. Sand storms can even occur on Halloween so make sure to watch
out for them!
Meridell- Meridell doesn't really celebrate the holiday of Halloween,
the only one in Meridell that celebrates it is Illusen. Illusen offers extra
special rewards if you do a quest for her on October thirty-first. Other than
Illusen no one really seems to celebrate. Even if you could convince someone
that Halloween is a holiday is Meridell all they would give you was some gruel
or maybe cheese (if you're lucky). I'd skip Meridell on the quest to obtain
candy.
Faerieland- We saved the best for last, Faerieland is one of the number
one places to go trick-or-treating. Faeries offer generous helpings of goodies
and magical abilities. Faerieland is home to a vast majority of rich pets who
always give out the best and most expensive candy for the holiday. I would grab
an flying Neopet taxi and jet up there for the evening. I heard if you go trick-or-treating
at Hidden Tower, Fyora gives away free items! FREE MILLION NEOPOINT ITEMS just
for saying trick-or-treat. That's just a rumor though, there has been no confirmation
on it but it's worth a try after all. Who wouldn't want a free Fyora the Faerie
Queen Trading Card or Everlasting Apple? Even if you don't get your free Hidden
Tower item, you'll still walk away from Faerieland with incredible abilities
and mountains of deliciously expensive candy.
Now that you know the best places to go trick-or-treating I hope you take
advantage of it! I hope everyone has a safe and very happy Halloween. Don't
forget to brush those teeth after you eat all that candy! Don't eat your entire
candy collection in one night, you don't want to get a stomach ache. They really
should make trick-or-treating a sport, I'd be a champion! Be safe and have fun
on Halloween! Don't worry, Roxy will be back. Nothing can stop her from writing,
not even some green goblin! Happy Halloween!
Kudio's Note: This was my first ever article! I am not really into writing
as much as my sister is but I am into trick-or-treating. In case you wanted
to know for Halloween this year I am going as a Snorkle! If I mentioned a rumor
in my article, chances are it's probably false. I am not sure if you will hear
too much more from me in the future but if you enjoyed my article let me know.
I'd like to thank my sister, Roxy for giving me an opportunity to write even
though I doubt you will see too much more from me, you never know! As we always
say in my family; may the borovan be with you! This is Kudio, over and out!
If you see an Electric Bruce in a Snorkle costume at your door on Halloween,
chances are it's probably me!
