Everyone knows that Codestones are needed to train your pet to become one of
the strongest. But at the prices that they have risen to, it’s hard to pay that
fee and many pet owners struggle to scrape money for a single session.
Well now that Cap'n Threelegs' Swashbuckling Academy is up and running, owners
can now smile. The peg-legged Eyrie that runs the school does not want any Codestones…
instead, he asks for Dubloons. Dubloons are coins that you can obtain by playing
Deckswabber
and getting at least 300 points. For different level pets, you need different
types of Dubloons. Here is the chart for the different classes…
Sea Urchin | Pets Level 1-10 - One Dubloon | 4 hours
Deckhand | Pets Level 11-20 - Two Dubloons | 6 hours
Pirate Pets | Level 21-30 - Five Dubloons | 8 hours
Cap’n Pets | Level 31-40 - Ten Dubloons | 10 hours
To switch your one Dubloon coins into the two, five, and ten Dubloon coins,
you must make a visit to the strange Dubloon-O-Matic
and trade them in. After you get the Dubloon coin you need to train your pet,
go to the academy and sign your pet for a course. In hours, he or she will be
much stronger than before!!!
Are those Dubloons I hear clinkin' in your pocket?
Speaking of hours… one of the only drawbacks for the academy is that, compared
to the Mystery Island Training School, it takes much longer for you to finish
a course. While at the Island, your level 25 pet would take only three hours
to level up but at the academy, the trainers would lecture and work your pet
for a straight 8 hours!!! Also, another disadvantage for some users is that
the Academy is aimed only for lower level pets and any pet that is over level
40 cannot attend, which can also be seen as an advantage to those trying to
catch up.
Although there are a few disadvantages, there are also advantages that outweigh
the bad aspects of it any day. With the arrival of the Dubloons, it is predicted
that prices will drops in both Codestones and Dubloons because you can win Dubloons,
soon, the market will be flooded with the coins, therefore lowering their prices
to very affordable levels. If the prices for the Dubloons lower more, we will
find that more people will abandon the Island
Training School and switch over to the academy, therefore, also lowering
the demand for Codestones. This is especially good for people who wish to train
their pets faster or have pets with levels above 40. Very soon, the poor people
of Neopia will be able to afford to train their pets and the richer and stronger
pet owners can buy more Codestones for cheaper.
Overall, the opening of the Academy and the release of the Dubloons is a definite
plus for NeoPets. With the upcoming Faerie Leagues and the one-player Battledome
opponents waiting for a fight, many owners are scrambling to find ways to train
their pets to superpet status. Now, the path there is a lot easier… and much,
much more affordable. |
