The Lost Desert
is Neopia's newest and, some say, coolest world. It's an arid desert land full
of interesting sights and sounds, located next to the Haunted Woods.
You'll probably enter the desert from the west, which means you will first
encounter the Swarm! But don't worry, since you can't really be hurt by these
creepy bugs; your main job is to blast them. Get into your Wocky Tank and blow
'em away!
After that challenging exercise, you'll probably want to take a load off, and
you can at Sutek's Scrolls Shop. Sit at one of the comfy chairs and read a scroll
or a book guaranteed to be interesting. Great prices and unlimited fun!
As you exit Sutek's Scrolls, you'll see three interesting pyramids. The first
of these houses Scarab 21, a fun and challenging card game where you can win
trophies and NP!
The second, and largest, pyramid houses the Mummy Maze. You play as a Kyrii
and must guide him through the interesting and fun maze. Can you beat the game?
The third one is aptly named Pyramids Game and is my personal favourite. Try
to deconstruct the card pyramid by keeping a succession of cards going.
Next to this pyramid is Coltzan's Shrine, the scene of a strange mystery over
the past few weeks. Relive the tension and excitement here!
As you head back north along the river, you'll come across yet another fun
game, Sakhmet Solitaire. It plays just like Solitaire from real life. If you
win, you'll get items and NP!
A small tent houses a very useful calculator. Use this to calculate prices
and do homework. You can even download a version to your computer!
If you journey past the bridge, you'll come to Tug-O-War, a game that's will
get your pet in shape. Tug, tug, tug till your pet can no longer tug. Bring
a towel though, just in case you get pulled in the water.
Take a rowboat out to the little island that houses Geos, a fun game where
you try to create geometric shapes while bombing your opponent's own shapes.
If you backtrack to the bridge, you can cross the river. The Fruit Machine
is in the far northeast corner. Give it a spin and see what you get.
Next to the machine is the food stall, where you can buy lots of cool food,
like Sphinx Links, Sand fruits, and Sutek Muffins. Enjoy this while watching
many royal processions to the palace.
Up beyond that is the PetPet Stall, where you can buy cute desert pets like
the Anubis, the Apis, and the Wadjet. Which one will you buy today?
Next to this stall is Brucey B's War Tent, which was hastily erected to help
fight Dr. Sloth. Brucey B tried to recruit soldiers to fight in the war, and
succeeded in driving Dr. Sloth back to wherever he came from. Did you fight?
Way up beyond the city is the Paint Brush Stall. With a rare Desert Paint Brush,
you can paint your pet in the style of the desert inhabitants! It's the latest,
coolest fashion.
If you enter the city, you'll find the mystery of Usurper, in which the king
was killed and the citizens of Neopia were called upon to solve the mystery.
Ten people won millions; one hundred won ancient desert artifacts. I'm so jealous.
Well, that's all there is to see so far in the Desert. Go home, rest, enjoy
a meal, because in one week, we're taking on Faerieland! |
