Author's Note: As usual, most of the events in this story are fictional. You
also may not fully understand some of the references unless you have read my previous
stories.
"Hi! It's me again, Wolfer3786. It's now time to let
you all in the next chapter of our lives. As usual, we were on vacation to make
up for the last ruined vacation. You know, I'm getting really tired of having
such lousy vacations. Once it was pirates. Another was Dr. Sloth. Really! This
is no way to have fun. Anyway, we were going to…. Well, maybe I should tell
you what happened from the beginning."
"Dad!" yelled Shark_Master_2001.
"Yes, Sharky?" came Frogman123us' reply.
"When are we going?" Shark_Master_2001 asked.
"I thought we were supposed to leave an hour ago."
Everyone was excited. It was a new vacation
attempt and the entire Frogman Clan was getting impatient. We wanted to leave.
We were all wondering if this would be the vacation that would actually be a
vacation. We wanted to get going.
"Please calm down," Frogman123us said. "I'm
almost ready."
So we waited. It was a half hour later when
Dad was finally ready and we headed to the bus stop.
"Where are we going this time, Dad?" asked Rexosaur2000.
"We're going to Meridell," Frogman123us replied.
"Meridell!" gasped Tiger_Cub_123.
"I thought you could only get there by traveling
through time," I said.
"Nope," Rexosaur2000 said. "I saw on the news
that they figured out how to get Neopians there without going back through time.
They didn't say how. They only said it could be done!"
"The news? Yuck!" Shark_Master_2001 and Tiger_Cub_123
said in unison.
The bus finally arrived after a twenty-minute
wait. We got on in our usual fashion with Dad sitting next to me.
ON THE BUS
"So, Dad," I began. "What do you think? Will
this be an actual vacation, or do you think we'll run into trouble again"?
"I hope not, Wolfy," Frogman123us replied.
IN MERIDELL
"When did we get here, Dad?" I asked.
"I have no idea, Wolfy," Frogman123us replied.
We were in Meridell. We had been transported
back through time without even realizing it. We stood in the middle of the town;
we were looking at all the different signs. One sign said "To the Castle." Yet
another said "Meri Acres Farm." There were also tons of signs indicating what
shops and games were available to the public. It was very interesting.
"I can't believe how different this place looks
from the rest of Neopia!" exclaimed Tiger_Cub_123.
We decided the first thing to do was find our
hotel. We found it easily, and, were checked and settled in within an hour.
Frogman123us had one room, Rexosaur2000 and myself shared a room, and Shark_Master_2001
and Tiger_Cub_123 had a room together.
We decided to look around the town and castle.
We walked down the dirt road into the heart of town. One of the first shops
we saw was the Ye Olde Food Shoppe. We then came across the Petpets Galore Shop,
Round Table Poker, and Shape Shifter.
"I want to see what Shape Shifter is, Dad,"
Rexosaur2000 said.
"I do too, Dad," I said.
"Okay, let's check it out," Frogman123us said
merrily.
With that, we went into the game shop. We watch
other Neopians attempt to solve the strange puzzles of this weird little Ixi.
It was very interesting.
After an hour of watching this, we decided to
check out some other areas. We went back onto the road and decided to follow
the path to Meri Acres Farm. We were following the path when we noticed a green
house back among the tress. We thought we'd investigate to see what was there.
"Hello," Frogman123us said to the person who
answered the door.
"Hi," she said back. "I'm Illusen the Faerie.
Have you come to do one of my quests?"
"No," Frogman123us replied. "But we could do
one, I guess. What do you say guys? Want to do a quest?"
"YEAH!" replied the Frogman Clan in unison.
"Alright," said Illusen. Bring me a Jellyfish
Sundae within the next thirty-five minutes and I'll reward you."
We then set off on our search.
TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES LATER
"Dad!" Shark_Master_2001 complained. "Time is
almost up! We have to hurry!"
"I know, Shar"----- Frogman123us began to say.
There was a loud crashing sound and a dark shadow
suddenly covered us. We looked up to see a large Citadel directly above us.
We saw ugly creatures slide down ropes yelling "May Darigan Live Forever!" These
creatures threw ropes around us and pulled us back up to the citadel.
"Here we go again!" I cried.
We were brought into a throne room. We looked
upon the ugliest of the creatures so far. We were so frightened.
"We have captured slaves for you, Lord Darigan,"
said the captain of the guard.
"You have pleased me very much," Lord Darigan
replied. "Take them to the slave quarters."
Frogman123us thought long and hard on the way
to the slave quarters. He could think of nothing that could save us. This was
a very different situation than when we were slaves of the pirates.
"It's hopeless," Frogman123us sighed to himself.
"We're not getting out of this one."
THREE MONTHS LATER
The war had been going on for quite some time
now. We have gotten used to the blast of cannons by both sides. The work was
so hard and dangerous we wished we were back with the pirates. Somehow the pirates
had treated us better.
"Think of something, Dad!" we all said.
"Don't you think I've been trying to?" asked
Frogman123us. "This situation is worse than the pirates, you know. Do any of
you have a suggestion?"
We all turned to Rexosaur2000.
"I can't have a plan all the time, can I?" Rexosaur2000
said in his defense.
"No, I suppose not," Tiger_Cub_123 said sadly.
"Don't give up!" Frogman123us said. "I'll think
of something."
TWO WEEKS LATER
"I heard the war is coming to an end!" shrieked
Shark_Master_2001.
"That's good," I said. "That means they'll pay
less attention to us and more attention to the war to end it quickly."
"That's great, guys, because I finally know
how to escape," Frogman123us said excitedly. "Now, listen up."
Frogman123us detailed his plan to the Frogman
Clan. That night Rexosaur2000 would pick the lock to the cell with his claws.
Then, Shark_Master_2001 and I would take out the guards from behind. We would
sneak into a storage room and find a rope. We would then use the rope to get
to the ground.
"It took you that long to think of that?" Tiger_Cub_123
said angrily.
"I didn't hear you come up with a plan," Frogman123us
growled. "And don't you ever take that tone with me again or you're going to
be grounded for a week!"
"Sorry," Tiger_Cub_123 said meekly.
LATER THAT NIGHT
"Let's go," Frogman123us whispered. "Rex, start
picking that lock. You have the best hearing, Wolfy, so listen for the guards.
The rest of us will keep a lookout for the guards."
With that, Rex began to pick the lock. It took
five minutes to do, but it was done. We crept down the hallway and were half
way to the nearest storage closet when I heard something.
"Wait!" I whispered. "Someone's coming!"
We all hid against the walls in the darkness.
About thirty seconds later two of Darigan's guards came by. Shark_Master_2001
and I knocked them out, and we continued down the hall. Finally, we reached
the closet.
"We made it," Tiger_Cub_123 said.
"You spoke too soon!" came a voice from behind.
"Lord Darigan!" Rexosaur2000 shrieked.
Lord Darigan was standing right behind us. It
felt like time froze. The guards grabbed us and took us to different cells in
different parts of the dungeon. We thought we'd never escape now.
"What can we do now?" I said into the darkness
of my empty cell.
THREE MONTHS LATER
"I have an idea!" I said to Frogman123us and
the rest of the Frogman Clan. "I know how we can escape!"
"There's a problem with that, Wolfy," Frogman123us
replied. "We're separated from each other unless being watched by the guards."
"Don't worry about that," I said. "Just be ready
to leave---tonight."
With that, Frogman123us and I went back to work.
Frogman123us had no idea what I had planned. To tell the truth, I wasn't sure
if it would work or not, but, I had to give it a try. It was a very dangerous
plan with severe consequences. If we were caught the punishment would be very
harsh indeed.
THAT NIGHT
I made sure the guards were sleeping before
I began to put my plan into action. I picked the lock on the cell door with
my claw and ran to Frogman123us' cell.
"Wolfy! Pick the lock so I can get out!" Frogman123us
whispered.
Soon he was out. We gathered the rest of the
Frogman Clan and ran to the central chamber. Unfortunately, it was locked.
"What are we going to do now, Wolfy?" asked
Tiger_Cub_123.
"I was ready for this," I replied. "I figured
they'd lock it so I stole a master key to the citadel. Don't ask how I got it.
You'd only freak."
In truth, I almost died getting it. I had snuck
out of my cell, grabbed it from a guard, and was going back to my cell when
the guard woke up. He tried to grab me and he had a club with him. Luckily,
I got back into my cell and he just left me there.
"Great job!" Rexosaur2000 shrieked.
"Keep it down!" Frogman123us scolded.
With the key, we entered the central chamber.
"Oh, my God!" cried Shark_Master_2001.
"Is that what I think it is?" asked Rexosaur2000.
In the middle of the room was the…
"The Orb!" Frogman123us exclaimed. "The orb
that powers Meridell. How did Darigan get it?"
"I bet they stole it from Meridell during the
war!" cried Tiger_Cub_123.
I grabbed the orb and we ran to a supply closet.
We grabbed the rope and kept running.
"Are we going to try the same thing all over
again?" Rexosaur2000 asked.
"Yes, but with one change," I replied. "The
guards won't dare try and capture us if we have the orb."
From behind, we heard voices shouting. Things
like "Stop them!" and "They have the orb!" were being screamed. We got to the
edge of the Citadel and threw the rope over the side after tying one end of
it to the structure of the Citadel. Everyone but myself was over the side, and
when I went to go and climb down the rope I tripped. The orb rolled straight
towards the guards. I didn't care. I just climbed down the rope. Finally, we
all reached the bottom.
"Let's get to the Meridell authorities!" Frogman123us
commanded us.
Soon, we were sitting safely within the friendly
Meridell authority station.
"We're finally free after all that time!" Shark_Master_2001
said happily.
Frogman123us turned to the Frogman Clan.
"Who wants to go home?" Frogman123us asked.
"None of us," we all replied.
Frogman123us was a little shaken.
"What do you mean?" exclaimed Frogman123us,
not believing what he was hearing.
Finally, Tiger_Cub_123 yelled at the top of
his voice, "Dad, everything has gone wrong already, and I still want a vacation."
"Okay," Frogman123us replied. "Does everyone
want to stay a little longer?"
We all wanted to. We stayed for another week.
The best part was we really had a great vacation after all.
