After a long day of Neoschool Lily the Gelert sat in
front of the television set watching it intently. Her little Zafara brother,
Clover was at the other side of the room playing with his toys cars.
"Vrrrrrooooooommmmmmmm!" he hummed loudly moving
his car on the wooden floor.
Lily turned around. "Can you PLEASE play quieter?
I'm trying to watch 'What's Cooking?' with Aletra the Aisha!" Lily hissed.
Clover grimaced at his sister. "What's the big
deal about her? You do know she hires people to write the script for her to
say, don't you?" Clover questioned rudely.
"That's what they do on YOUR baby shows! Not
on Cooking Shows, like this. Now be quiet before I get Mom!" Lily turned back
around, and went back to her trance ion front of the t.v.
"Sisters! Who needs them? All they do is watch
TV about boys and try and look pretty!" Clover muttered under his breath. He
shoved the cars in a cabinet and stood up. "Who would get so excited over a
cooking show? They are SO boring! Math class with Mr. Cheesebrow is more interesting,"
Clover continued.
Bre, their owner burst in. "I won! I won! I
won! I won!!!!!" she shrieked at the top of her lungs.
Lily turned off the TV to see what all of the
fuss was about, and her beloved show was over. Clover looked at his owner. "Another
guild contest?" he asked her.
"Nope. Even better. See, I went to the Bakery
to get some doughnuts, for a surprise for you two, because you've been good
all week, and when I walked in all these balloons and streamers and confetti
came down on me. And the Bread Master told me I was his 12,000,000 customer!
So he gave me these!" Bre whipped out three shiny silver ticket that had gold
writing on them. "Three tickets to see 'What's Cooking?' with Aletra Aisha!"
Bre smiled, obviously satisfied with herself.
Lily grabbed the tickets and read them. "Oh my
gosh! These are real! Now I can meet her! My hero! Aletra the Aisha!" Lily breathed
and went into a daydream.
Bre looked at her with an eyebrow raised. "Okay..."
She took the tickets back and put them in her pocket. "You both better start
getting ready, because its tonight. In two hours!"
Lily looked shocked. "TWO HOURS!?" she screamed
and ran into her room. She started brushing her fur so it gleamed, she brushed
her teeth until her toothbrush broke, and she ran out of toothpaste, and she
spent the rest of the time making sure Clover looked just as well. This meant
she gave him a bath, brushed his fur, and made him brush his teeth.
"I don't want her to think I have a dirty family.
That would be bad. Clover! Don't be such a baby! I am NOT brushed your fur to
fast! You have lots of knots! Fine, I'll slow down," she said quickly.
Half an hour later Bre, Lily, and Clover walked
out of their house after locking everything and making sure their petpets were
inside safely. Lily was babbling the whole time, while Bre listened and Clover
thought about his Kazoo collection.
AT THE SHOW
The audience roared as the announcer presented
Aletra. Lily, no doubt, screamed the loudest.
"Ah yes. Thank you so much for joining us on
this special episode of "What's Cooking?". Let me tell you, I have
just returned from a two-week visit to Tyrannia, and I have to say that I simply
had the most marvelous time of my life. They're such a splendid people, the
Tyrannians... such kind-hearted, generous folk... I didn't understand a single
word any of them said, but nevertheless I must admit that I found them to be
absolutely fascinating," Aletra told them in her famous silky voice. Lily hung
on to her every word.
Aletra told them how to make certain Tyrannian
dishes. Clover yawned 62 times during the half an hour show. Bre watched and
clapped lightly, being polite. Once the show was done, and Aletra made her marvelous
exist, Lily sprang up.
"Oh! Mom! Can I meet her? Can I please?" Lily
begged.
"Well-" Bre started but was cut off by Lily.
"Oh thank-you SO much!" Lily called over her
shoulder as she ran back stage. Clover and Bre followed her.
Backstage some fans were holding up brightly
coloured posters, and banners saying things like 'I love you Aletra!!!!'. Lily
glanced at a few and sniffed at the messy words and sloppy pictures.
Aletra came out wearing black sunglasses over
her eyes and a lime green trenchcoat. She smiled and waved as fans took her
picture. Lily ran up to her with a picture of Aletra and a pencil.
"Oh my gosh! Its really you! Your Aletra! I'm
your biggest fan! I have every item with your name or picture on it! I am your
biggest fan!" Lily informed her.
Aletra put her sunglasses down so they were
at the tip of her nose. "I've heard that a BILLION times!" Aletra told her,
but gave her a smile nevertheless.
"Can you please sign my picture of you? Please?"
Lily begged her.
Aletra laughed a bit. "Do you think I have the
time to sign your picture? Then I'd have to sign EVERYONE'S picture. There's
not nearly enough time in the day. Now move before I get my body guards to move
you!" she said coldly. She pushed her sunglasses up and continued to wave and
smile at all of her other fans.
Lily's ears drooped a bit, and let her picture
and pen drop to the floor. She turned around and walked back to were Clover
and Bre saw everything.
"I'm sorry Lily. Not all celebrities are as nice
as they appear on TV," Bre told her gently.
"I know that now," Lily whispered. "Can we please
so home?" she asked.
"Yes we can!" Clover said smiling. "Finally.
Tomorrow lets send her some Neomails saying that she's the meanest chef in all
of Neopia. Ya! That'll be fun! And Nova and Stripe and Pepper and Shimmer can
help too," Clover continued excitedly.
Lily smiled. "Sounds like a plan."
