A Pinceron’s Feelings

by poy222

Untitled Document It was a bright, sunny day while Whiss the white Pinceron strolled along the sidewalk, making soft metal noises as his- I guess you could call them- claws once in a while scraped the ground.

He was headed towards a playground in Neopia Central. He enjoyed gripping onto the monkey bars and swinging back and forth, back and forth.

When Whiss got there, a group of five petpets were loitering around and blocking the way to Whiss' favourite playground pass-time. "Excuse me," Whiss said in his squeaky, robotic voice as he tried to pass with his head hung low. He had met these petpets before and they had all mistreated him.

There was Nas the purple Trampadon who was the leader, Bagor the Bilguss, Grassi the Donksaur who didn't show much emotion, Shadow the black Spirkle, and then there was Zeef. Zeef was an ordinary Flizzardo who, in Whiss' opinion, was hanging around with the wrong kind of friends.

Zeef had tried to be friends with Whiss once, but then the gang came, and he didn't know how to react. And so Zeef decided to stay away from Whiss to not make him feel bad about not being able to be friends with him.

"If you want to pass, you're going to have to do a chore for us," Bagor said.

"Yeah, you're going to have to go pick up that piece of paper over there, and bring it back to us," Shadow explained to Whiss.

As Whiss walked over to the piece of paper planted by a tree, he heard the gang talk to each other:

"What's with that look on your face Zeef?" Nas questioned as he saw Zeef's expression. "Don't tell me you actually feel sorry for him! It's not like it has feelings- the most he probably has inside is a computer chip of some sort, and a couple of nuts and bolts here and there!" The group laughed except Zeef who forced a smile. Grassi the Donksaur laughed even though you could tell he didn't get Nas' joke.

It's not like it has feelings, the sentence echoed in Whiss' head and it made him feel more frustrated. He picked up the folded sheet of paper planted next to a tree. As he brought it back, Shadow snickered.

"Unfold it and read it!" Nas ordered.

"Yeah! Unfold it and... and..." Grassi lost himself in his speech.

Not wanting to disobey, Whiss slowly opened the piece of paper and read it slowly out loud, expecting the worst, "Push me." Right after he read it, he shut his eyes as Nas shoved him. Whiss fell to the ground and stayed there for a while as the whole gang laughed. He saw Zeef out of the corner of his one robotic eye. The Flizzardo had a worried expression on his face. Zeef then helped Whiss up and the rest of Zeef's friends fell silent.

"Hey guys, am I hallucinating or did I just see the Z-boy help this... thing up!?" Shadow exclaimed.

"You weren't hallucinating Shadow... you just witnessed Zeef turn into a sissy. Well, I always thought he was one... just... let's go." Nas said and turned around to leave with his friends.

As they walked off, Grassi said, "Whiss the wuss! Whiss the wuss!"

Zeef didn't care about Nas and the gang anymore. "Are you alright?" he asked Whiss.

Whiss nodded and said in his robot voice, "Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks."

That night, Zeef the Flizzardo could not sleep because he could not stop worrying. He thought about when he helped Whiss up off the ground. He knew he had done something good, but a bad feeling was inside him now. Would Nas tell everyone about Zeef being friends with Whiss now? Would he get bullied by the gang? Would his reputation be ruined for hanging out with Whiss?

In the end, Zeef fell asleep but he didn't want to go out in the morning for he was now afraid of Nas. If you were to enter the room at the time, you would see a big sleeping shadow Uni, who was Zeef's pet owner. And right next to the Uni's bed, you would see a Flizzardo sitting on a miniature bed with his head in his hands. Zeef thought for five minutes and then decided he would go out right then.

Once outside, he thought of going back in for Nas and the gang along with other petpets had just turned the corner and were headed straight towards him. Zeef stood his ground.

"Hey! Where's your friend?" Bagor the Bilguss shouted from far as the group continued coming towards Zeef.

"Ha! That messed-up machine guy… what's his name again? Oh yeah, yeah, Whiss. That messed-up machine guy named Whiss was probably too spooked to come outside! That, or his inside computer came down with a virus!" Shadow the black Spirkle said.

"Good one Shadow!" Grassi the Donksaur said.

     "Thanks!"

Now, the large group was right in front of Zeef.

"This is the Flizzardo I was telling you guys about," announced Nas, "His name's Zeef, and he actually helped Whiss, or wuss, in my opinion, up when we put him on the ground!"

"And actually, I don't see what the problem is…" a voice said from somewhere in the crowd. Hushed whispers were going on now.

"Who said that!?" Nas said with his big Trumpadon voice.

"Really though, if you do stop and think about what you're witnessing, you would most probably see that this is terrible! Neopia is supposed to be a harmonious place for owners, pets, and petpets," another voice from the crowd said. Agreements of "Yeah!" were being heard.

Nas was speechless, and he glanced at Zeef who had now gained more confidence, and sneered.

"So, if you do know what's good for you, Nas, you will leave the Flizzardo on his own. Understood?" A Mongmong had said that, and now rose from the swarm of petpets. All the petpets cheered.

The trumpadon roared with fury and then said, "Come on guys, let's go," and he motioned for Bagor, Shadow, and Grassi to follow him. They were hesitant.

     "Nu-uh," Grassi opposed.

"What did you say, you overgrown…" Nas started to say before Bagor cut him off, "Back off Nas! We don't want to follow you anymore!"

Nas was turning red in the face, red from anger. "RAAAARGH!" he let out and then turned around and ran away. The petpets cheered once again.

Later that day, Zeef explained to Whiss what had happened, and Whiss was as happy as a Pinceron could be. Also, Nas the Trumpadon was proven wrong that day- a Pinceron, or any robotic pet or petpet at that, has feelings.
