Neopedia : Kiko Lake

Location : Within mountains 15 miles NE of Neopia Central
Population : 9,400 (92% Kiko, 3% Jetsam, 5% Other)
Weather : always calm and sunny
Terrain : Lake

Kiko Lake is home to a large number of Kikos (hence its name) but recently other species have also started to make it their home. The lake itself is a large expanse of water, forming a circular area roughly 20 miles in diameter within the caldera of a long dormant volcano. From the surface the water is blue and clear, but swim down into the depths and a whole new world is revealed.

As you descend the first thing you will notice is the coral. There is simply masses of coral everywhere you look. In some places it has been lovingly crafted into homes or shops, in others it has been used to form beautiful sculptures of legendary heroes.

Delicate seaweed gardens wave to you behind polished coral fences. The people of Kiko Lake take great pride in the appearance of their home, each year there is a competition to find the prettiest garden in the Lake and simply everyone who lives there enters. To receive that coveted trophy from the mayor is a very great honour indeed.

The little high street sells all the basic goods the locals need to survive as well as cute little knick knacks for tourists to buy. There is a air of serenity about the entire place that makes the lake a favourite holiday destination for Neopets wanting to get away from it all.
