"Ahhhh! Help, help!" yelled the Halloween JubJub, running frantically across the pumpkin patch. He took a flying leap and skidded under the belly of his Lupe sister, who snarled at his pursuers.

"Leave my little brother alone... he's a JubJub, not a pumpkin!" The pursuers slid to a halt, wide eyed.

"Oh! Sorry," said a Gelert. "Well, that explains a lot... I've never seen a pumpkin run that fast before!"

The Lupe rolled her eyes. "Why don't you go find some stationary pumpkins... okay, guys?" she said, leading her brother off.

"Thanks, sis!" the little JubJub said, hugging her leg.

"Don't mention it, little brother," she said, smiling. "Now, let's go find us a proper pumpkin to carve!" The two set off happily bounding through the patch, enjoying the cool air of the Month of Collecting blowing against their faces.

Every year, during the last half of the Month of Collecting, Neopians flock to the giant pumpkin patch, where pumpkins of every imaginable size and shape can be found.

Families spend time together scooping out the seeds, then baking them into delicious treats. A little butter and garlic can do wonders for just about anything! Then, in preparation for Halloween, they carve the spookiest face they can into their pumpkin. Along with Trick-or-Treating, each year Neopia Central hosts a huge pumpkin carving competition, where prizes are awarded to those who can carve out the scariest pumpkins!
