April 26th 2012 Email Blast:

Hiya!

As we mentioned last week, the new Neopets Premium service will not offer Webmail, so we wanted to send a reminder in case there's anything in your inbox you'd like to save!

Webmail will no longer be available on (or shortly after) May 15th, 2012, and you will no longer have access to your neomail.com email address at that time.

Saving Emails - If you'd like to save any of your emails, please be sure to back them up before then. You can do so by forwarding each message you'd like to save to your new email address. As an alternative method, there is also a link at the top of each email to 'View Message Source'. You can save that page to your hard drive.

Saving Contacts - You may also want to save any contacts you have stored. To do this, click on the 'Address Book' link at the top of the page, and then on the 'Import/Export' button and follow the steps there. This will save your contact list as a CSV file, which can be imported into a number of other email applications.

Set Up a New Address - Lastly, be sure to notify your family and friends of your new email address before Webmail shuts down! Otherwise, they'll think you're ignoring them and get upset and tell your cousin what a louse you are, who will tell your sister and then your sister will be mad at you for weeks and you'll have to find someone else weird enough to want your Mutant Tuskaninny and… *cough*. Sorry. Anyway, you get the idea.

So don't forget, back up your content by May 14th at the latest to be safe! If you have any questions about this or the new Premium service, the Premium FAQ has more information and is being updated regularly.

Greetings, Premium members!

We're writing you lovely folks to (finally!) update you on the new Neopets Premium service and provide more information, as promised. Some of this has been in the FAQs and some of it is new, but we wanted to consolidate everything for you in one handy email! Apologies if you've heard some of this before.

This email contains the list of what's changing as well as information pertinent to your specific payment plan and what you can expect during the transition period. We hope this will help answer some of the questions you have, and we'll continue to update you as we get closer to launch. *nod*

The Switch

In mid-May, the Premium service itself will switch over to a new system run entirely by the Neopets Team. This means that all of Billing and Premium Support will be through us, and that we'll be able to offer some new features based on all the input and feedback we received from you over the past few months. However, this also means a few of the services you may have now will be going away. As a reminder - or in case you haven't heard - keep reading below to find out what's new and what's changing!

What's New?

You may remember a few surveys we did some months back where we asked for your feedback on a number of Premium questions. Based on your responses and the feedback we've received from you over the years, we'll also be adding the following new features once the switch has been made (more information on each to come soon!):

Premium Featured Game
Premium Notification Bar
More Monthly Neopoints
On-Site Random Events
Additional Message Boards
SSW Upgrades

What's Going?

Because we are no longer partnering with a third party, and based on your input, these are the features that will be discontinued after the switch:

Webmail
Portal (replaced by the Notification Bar!)
Real-world Feeds
Internet Dial-Up Service
Aliases and Subaccounts

Everything else is staying! Super Shop Wizard, no ads, random events, Premium message boards, collectable cards, Space Faerie Charm, etc. - they won't be going anywhere.
