RUKI DAY SPECIAL

Ruki Nomad
By Wicked_summer

When you wander long enough,
When the sun has burned you.
To walk is all you need, enough,
Little else is left you.

The world seems strange then, very strange,
To the walkers of this golden sea.
As though the very dunes do rise,
And no hiding place do leave.

To the sand, a nomad is
As a pirate is to ocean.
He walks, quiet, leaving prints,
And sets nothing in motion.

A Ruki nomad walks the paths
That none else dare to tread.
Because no one would dare follow
Where the Ruki nomad leads.

Sunlight leads to dizziness,
And to sights most strange.
But heaving dunes are nothing
On his golden-shining range.

The Ruki Conga Line!
By Anjie

One and two and three, swing!
Two feet lift from the ground.
Other pair are keeping time,
Tap-tapping out the sound.
Like a serpent, rather strange,
The group weaves too and 'fro.
Creatures painted different hues,
One factor links them, though.

At the head of weaving group,
A creature so divine.
Faerie wings like banners wave,
As she leads conga line.
Near the end a shifty bloke,
Concealed and bandaged tight.
Dances right behind the rest,
As to not give a fright.

Somewhere in this myriad
Of creatures, vast in hue,
You'll see some toned in chocolate brown,
Some painted green or blue.
One seems made of biscuit chips,
(He's dancing, not a snack!)
One desert Ruki missed a step,
And hurries to fall back.

They weave and stomp that mass of legs,
They dance in flawless time.
Celebrating all they are,
In Ruki conga line.
It doesn't matter how they look,
Irrelevant their hue.
Together they greet Ruki Day,
As you and I should do.

Thief of Dice
By Yoyote

Sleek and dark with orb-like eyes,
His movement quick as night,
The silent thief reaches out for his prize,
And fades into a blurry flight.

No more shall roll these things so fine,
No more, for they are mine!

The things he steals are things of chance,
Square dice, with ivory sides,
Numbers under the eager glance,
Bearing fortune-laden rides.

They'll never again make anyone happy,
Anyone apart from me!

He whisks them away from board games,
He hoards them in checkerboard mazes.
He surrounds them with rivers of flames,
He arranges his prisons in phases.

They're safe now in my world;
Too long have they rolled and twirled!

But caught in this strange Ruki's madness,
The dice summon strength to escape.
For their players are worn with sadness,
And are sitting round agape.

I'll count my dice, my deed is done --
Wait, what! I can't be left with none?!

The Ruki cries out, embittered,
But nothing can help him now,
For the dice have fled and skittered,
And are home, as swift as their vow.

Gift Shop Ruki
By Reggieman721

In eyes of this bored Neopet,
Gold jewellery doth lose its shine.
The Ruki leans on elbow blue
And heaves a soft and jaded sigh.

One thousand rewards she has to sell
In gift shop near Qasala's wall.
Yet in her valued task, she takes
But very little joy at all.

Her pure white robes are made of silk,
Her arms adorned with jewels and gold.
Her mouth, however, frowns all day
And to the sky her eyes are rolled.

The gift shop Ruki waves away
Potential buyers of her wares.
She waits for those with higher pay.
At poorer ones, she merely glares.

With all the riches in the world,
All happiness does she defy.
This Ruki much prefers a frown;
Rather than laugh, she gives a sigh.

The Mummy Ruki
By Icesmith

The groans of death shroud the tomb,
As you examine the priceless walls,
Engraved with carvings of legends past,
Yet then you hear the calls.

"Be gone, traitor of this haven,"
It calls with such vile hate.
"Or soon you will be helpless victim to
My wrath, my peril, your fate."

Yet once again you ignore the threats,
And continue to examine the pyramid's vault,
But when you try to grab a glorious vase,
You suddenly realise you are at fault.

A screech like no other engulfs your ears,
And a wall from the far end suddenly cracks.
As you gaze upon the revealed figure,
Its posture bent, soon it attacks.

Ragged bandages cruelly flap across his ears,
Themselves a resemblance of blades,
And those deep, dark eyes that pierce your own
Are just an assortment of dead shades.

The four legs rapidly gain some speed,
And outstretched with his claws, he sprints,
His smell more putrid with each violent step,
And his skin covered in decaying imprints.

As he grabs you, you finally understand,
That you were wrong in invading this debris,
And that the tomb guardian had no pity,
As you are now victim to the Mummy Ruki.
