PEOPHIN DAY SPECIAL

Enchanting Swimmers
By Iridaceous

Emerald waves rush to sandy shore
As the song of the ocean crescendos to roar.
They emerge from the deep,
Stirring from sleep,
Arising to morning's call.

Hooves pound at water's tide,
Pushed onward by the sea, they ride.
Making a splash --
They dive and they dash.
Swimming together, side by side.

Jewel blessed upon their foreheads
Glistening with iridescent red.
Such exquisite grace,
Overshadowing all else,
The others of the seabed.

Delicate fins cast a glimmer.
A flick of a tail and rippling shimmer.
Of splendour and dignity,
These creatures can only be...
Peophins, Neopia's enchanting swimmers.

The Mysterious Venuquin on Peophin Day
By Indulgences

The lovely, phantom creature swims
In waters dark and perilous.
In legends, Venuquin is known
For saving ships from sea's abyss.

She pushes stranded boats towards shore.
She steers them out of danger's way.
With spectral smile and glowing eyes
She rescues sailors every day.

With love, a dozen schoolchildren
Have flocked to southern Neopian seas
Where it is rumoured that she swims
In full enjoyment of the breeze.

They toss her flowers, sweets, and cakes.
The items sink beneath the waves.
The children hope that Venuquin
Will know they love her on this day.

They watch and wait -- it's almost dusk
And tiredly they strain their eyes.
A few of them make eager calls.
A few of them begin to cry.

Then suddenly, the phantom belle
Explodes in full-blown turquoise charm.
She wears a flower in her hair.
She has a cake upon her arm.

The children scream, they clap, they cheer!
They blow her kisses, yell for miles.
Oh, Venuquin is radiant!
She shakes her seaweed mane and smiles!

She swims for them, she dances too.
She sings a song to please their ears.
She splashes them with impish fun.
Then finally, she disappears.

The children honoured her with love
Because today is Peophin Day.
Please, read this ode and think of her
For Venuquin deserves her Day!

Protectors of the Sea
By Sonybug222

They ride the waves with metal shining,
Blinding in the sun.
Rarely seen upon the shore
They take off, one by one.

Protecting Islanders is their duty,
Defenders of the land.
They watch the sea with wary eyes,
Protective gear and staff in hand.

Their shy quiet air makes them good for the job
No dilly-dallying here.
They fight against intruders,
Their watchful eyes reflecting no fear.

Living to save the citizens' lives,
They bring happiness to all around them.
If it means safe haven all around,
They'll attack the enemy on a whim.

They bring good fortune,
These Mystery Island defenders
They're happy being sentries out in the ocean
They take no profit from the safety they render.

The rising sun announces their departure --
Who are they that give a lending hand?
Who are these heroes of the land?
The Peophin Waveriders, for peace they stand.

Guardian of the Waves
By Anjie

Beyond the shore and golden sand,
A hero found in ancient land.
For when the twelve did come to be,
It's Marak who would rule the sea.
His own realm once he did so save,
A legend now, he is 'The Wave.'

This Peophin of noble heart,
So seemed a hero, from the start.
A warrior beloved by all
And summoned by a city's call.
What wisdom would this creature bring,
That he would sit beside a King?

So from the ocean, to the shore,
He came to help fair Altador.
Into this world would Marak delve,
Become one of a famous twelve.
Could warrior of deepest sea,
Help rule a land so fair and free?

With triton held in shining fin,
He sought the answer, deep within.
Depart his kingdom? Yes, he should.
Above he'll help a greater good.
This Peophin, so wise and brave,
The hero named Marak the Wave.

Peopatra
By Yoyote

Her home is in a sea of gold,
A desert that Petpets get lost in;
Where the heart is never hard or cold,
Peopatra takes them in.

Her eyes ablaze with liquid care,
Her brow adorned with light,
She lifts her hooves so lovely-fair,
And takes Petpets out of their plight.

She feeds hungry mouths with patience,
And bathes little wounds in water.
She works with a quiet endurance,
Deep into the midnight hour.

Vast oceans of mysteries are beyond her,
Beyond this desert Peophin.
Her heart is simpler and fonder;
It's love and humility that she swims in.

No seaweeds wave soft at her back;
No mussels go calmly "splat."
No fishes swirl sweet 'round her neck;
Oh no, she's too busy for that.

She doesn't seek pearls or go playing;
She never lies dreamy on the shore.
She flows ever on, ever saying,
"Come in! We have room for one more."

Such is the world of Peopatra,
Honest and clear as the sun.
It's where things simply are as they are,
And where small, tender duties get done.
