Shenkuu River Rush
By Anjie

Amidst the peaks entwined, aglow,
Enclosed by mountains tall,
An angry river weaves its path,
Rage echoes in its call.
The crash of rapids on the rocks,
Each jagged, keen-edged thorn.
Leaves that drift in rapid's way,
Consumed, dragged under, torn.

Shenkuu, realm of peaceful light,
But some seek risk and thrill.
With riverboards held tight in hand,
They long to test their skill.
Ride the rapids' angry path,
Be wary, do take note.
Glory waits for he who wins,
And she who stays afloat.

Cassile and Bowe seek such a thrill,
The risk of raging flow.
Flipping through the air with ease,
The rapids rage below.
A crowd's applause, a noble goal,
Each trick takes daring ease.
But one mistake, the water's rage,
May bring them to their knees.

Amidst the blossoms, rose in tone,
Beyond the temple's door.
A land serene, an ancient realm,
A scene from days of yore.
Nearby seems a world away,
Where folk risk all they know
To tame the rapids on a board,
And ride the river's flow.

Sloth's Evil Brew
By Soaringeagle25

Does every Neopian run in your wake?
Every mirror you touch break?
Are you warty, ugly, and slimy?
Dun-coloured, scabby, or very grimy?

Do you have sudden urges to do evil deeds?
Is eating Gross Food one of your needs?
Do you have more than two eyes, or maybe less?
Do you find scary Neovision the very best?

Is your Beauty Contest won only by dominion?
Has Lord Kass recruited you as one of his minions?
Is a bath your chief worry?
And is "The Evil Slorg" your favourite story?

Do you detest the colour pink?
Is pond mud your favorite drink?
Do fluffy things give you the willies?
And you think toenails taste best in chilies?

Do you ooze slimy goo?
And you smell malodorous too?
Is the dark your preference?
Do your refer to your friends in past tense?

Do you want to have world domination?
Urges to report to Sloth's Space Station?
Does owning a Meepit appeal to you?
You must have drunk Sloth's Evil Brew!

Confused About Grarrls
By Hamsybaby22

What is this business about Grarrls?
Most of us can't even spell it,
Some Neopets are afraid of them,
Though some are gobbled down.

On their face, there is always an evil smile
That scares the daylight out of me!
Their jaws are always wide open
To gobble up somebody,
But some are brave enough to own them.
Their piercing green eyes look straight at you,
That's when you RUN AWAAAAAY!!

These Tyrannian Neopets have VERY big dinners,
Maybe someday you'll be part of their dinners,
But don't be afraid, they MAY be friendly.
Some have tried to figure it out,
And, well, the rest is history!

A Tomb of Mystery
By Keikotoriyamacatnip

Take a ferry across the waters
Of the Neopian ocean deep,
To an island of mystery,
Where Ghost Lupe's soul was reaped.

Passing by the local shops,
Beyond a dojo's walls,
Running past volcanoes,
And through the waterfalls.

In the deepest jungle waits
A link to a past unknown,
Deserted village of local lore,
Wild cries echo and drone.

Up the broken stony steps,
A tomb looms ahead,
Filled with wonders of treasure lost,
Or of creatures of which to dread.

Vine-covered door rumbles,
As it reveals the path inside,
Entering at one's own risk,
In hope travellers do confide.

Walking through the darkness,
The floor suddenly starts to quake,
Whining noises are flashing by,
Wooden spears cause nerves to shake.

On and on the pathway turns,
Rooms scattered here and there,
Passing by a near corridor,
Two red eyes begin to stare.

Running faster down the trail,
Angry Hissi close behind,
Grasping to the wall for balance,
A small staircase hidden within vines.

Losing the predator up the stairs,
Only a thousand steps to go,
A lofty room glows ahead,
Perhaps treasure stored from below.

Fiddlesticks! The treasure is gone,
Now what will occur,
Unless there is another way,
The stairs lead to a Hissi's lure.

Feeling around the dusty wall,
A stone panel starts to shift,
The wall crumbles into a heap,
Opening a giant rift.

Cold air wafts in gentle blows,
A new pathway to travel,
Corridors dank and murky,
The mystery starts to unravel.

More spikes come shooting by,
Strange noises ricochet against stone,
Passing by another room,
Filled with heaping piles of bones.

Then when all was thought lost,
The corridor started to turn,
One room rested ahead,
Filled with golden sprouts of fern.

Pushing back the vegetation,
A little face pokes through,
Tribal markings adorn,
A face tilted askew.

Fear overcomes curiosity
As the little creature runs away,
But where he stood on the ground,
A box was left to stay.

With deep anticipation,
A gulp to find some nerve,
The lid is lifted with hesitation,
The contents start to curve.

Gold dubloons begin to flow,
And cover the tomb floor,
A great treasure discovered,
Riches and gems galore.

At last the journey has ended,
And the treasure is in hand,
But how to leave with such wealth,
Back to the safety of solid land?

It takes three days but finally,
The tomb lies in memories,
To the Trading Post to buy
Rare items and pleasantries.

Only the brave travellers know
Of what great lengths they went to,
To acquire such a fortune
From the tombs of Geraptiku.

The Mystery of Krawk Creation
By Scarvogue

It's said rare creatures roam an island,
One of scalawags and thieves.
There is a cave upon the rock,
Where these pets are born with ease.

I hear that small Petpets wander in
But never wander out.
A mystery -- what happens there,
This knowledge never came about.

So one day I travelled
Inland from the coast.
I saw a cave upon the rock,
Just as the stories did boast.

I wandered in -- but just a bit --
And took a look around.
A shiver sent down my spine,
But only fungus was around.

It covered the walls and the ground,
A mysterious sight, I admit,
But nothing else lingered there;
I don't know what to make of it.

So I departed sadly,
Without a successful tale to tell.
Perhaps someday we will all know,
But until that time, the mystery will dwell.
