ELEPHANTE DAY SPECIAL

Gentle Giant of Maraqua
By Anjie

Unfathomable, the endless sea,
Oh, the waves do call to thee!
Maraqua beckons, soft, the call,
The gentle giant it shall enthrall.
Some colossal, rather grand,
Prefer the ocean's lull to land.

The crashing waves stroke massive form,
Cascading gently, soft and warm.
The cobalt shimmer gleams on skin,
Adds brilliant sheen to flicking fin.
Graceful does he drift around,
Finesse not found when on the ground.

Cobalt shade and blue entwine,
Lit by sunlight's pallid shine.
It filters through the breaking surf,
To linger on the seabed's turf.
Here that massive form shall lay,
When tiring of the tidal sway.

None within Maraqua's deep
Would dare to rouse the giant from sleep.
An Elephante's a gentle soul,
But swimming wildly takes its toll.
This size alone makes him the chief,
The keeper of the stretching reef.

The trunk a helpful guide to him,
Directing where to drift and swim.
Yet some so cynical demand,
That Elephantes belong on land.
But down below the whitest foam,
This gentle giant doth make his home.

Elephantes - the Largest Neopet?
By Scarvogue

Some would call you the largest of all,
Towering over the rest.
Try not to crush me under your large feet.
Please, step aside, my only request!

My, what large ears you've got!
Almost as large as those feet.
Your trunk is even longer, my friend --
You're the biggest Neopet I'll ever meet!

Although, Mr. Elephante,
Those are some tiny wings...
Surely not large enough to fly?
Oh no, they couldn't carry
your massive weight around;
Elephantes belong on land, not in the sky!

As large as you might be,
You're still the nicest Neopet I see!

Plain to See
By Lipgloss55

I spotted a trunk far away,
Which was no surprise on Elephante Day.
The long snout was followed by feet,
Far larger than mine could meet.

The Elephante's eyes glowed and glimmered.
His smile shined and ever so shimmered.
He danced and he pranced all about,
All the while waving his snout.

"Today is a day of joy! Today is the day I reign!
For today is Elephante Day,
And I am one as you can see quite plain."
He beat his wings and fled,
Crying with shouts of glee.
Not one did forget today was for the Elephantes,
For it was quite plain to see.

Elephante Wise and Proud
By Madderaboutsmg

There is seldom a species of Neopet
That is remotely comparable to
Many an Elephante, wise and proud,
Whose historical fame rings clear and loud.

I shall recount a story to you
Regarding a hero whom you may not have known,
Not wicked, not scary, but mighty and great --
We'll speak of this good one, where no evil's innate.

Once carefree and lazy and soon to be doomed
Was Pacha the Vet, whose destiny loomed.
Befallen with pox as ancient as life,
His health had suffered, an internal strife.

As hope dwindled, with no cure in sight,
A miracle occurred, and it was quite bright.
A doctor and antidote appeared out of naught;
Through this act, a lesson was taught.

He learned the meaning of various deeds,
Like making the most of the life that he leads.
He cares for the tired, the needy and ill.
But now it's the Petpets that bring him great thrill.

In closing, young ones, I hope you have learned
That through good deeds, vast joy can be earned.
Spread the word, say it out loud,
Of the great Elephante, wise and proud!

200m Peanut Dash
By _Razcalz_

A deep breath the Elephante takes,
Single peanut in that trunk of his.
The energy bar climbs, from blue to purple to red,
And the peanut streaks through the air with a whiz!

His faithful Petpet sits quietly by his side,
A Puppyblew, small in size but swift indeed,
Eager eyes fixed on that nutty treat,
Flying across the field,
Wastes no time, races after with unmatchable speed.

10, 20, 30 meters, the Puppyblew sprints.
Oh no! A log juts out and blocks the way!
And the Petpet leaps over with
An impressive double back flip.
"It'll take more than that to stop
A Puppyblew like me!" he seems to say.

Four more logs the Petpet easily clears,
And the peanut finally begins its descent.
Only 20 meters remaining,
The Puppyblew aims for the falling peanut,
Prepares for one final leap...
And attains a Supercatch Bonus!
Now that must have taken some training!

Head held proudly in the air,
The Petpet trots back to the Elephante
Who praises him with a fond pat, then
Selects another peanut from his bulging bag,
"Let's play again!"
